How 565 Plus XLO Works
565 Plus XLO combines the power of natural pyrethrins with two powerful synergists in a pressurized insecticide. Pyrethrins are derived from the Chrysanthemum flower and have a quick action that attacks an insect’s central nervous system. Pyrethrins also act as irritants to insects, making it an effective flushing agent, and as a repellent to keep insects away. The complexity of pyrethrins means insect resistance is not a concern. 565 Plus XLO also contains piperonyl butoxide and MGK-264, two synergists that help to stabilize and boost the power of the natural pyrethrins.
565 Plus XLO is effective as a contact kill only, meaning it has no further insecticidal properties once the spray application is dry.
Flying insects, flies, gnats, mosquitoes, ants, roaches, silverfish, spiders, carpet beetles, stored product pests, wasps
PESTS CONTROLLED: Angoumois Grain Moths, Ants, Bed Bugs, Booklice, Carpet Beetles, Centipedes, Chocolate Moths, Cigarette Beetles, Clothes Moths, Clover Mites, Cluster Flies, Cockroaches, Confused Flour Beetles, Crickets, Drugstore Beetles, Fleas, Flies, Fruit Flies, Gnats, Grain Mites, Granary Weevils, Horn Flies, House Flies, Indianmeal Moths, Mediterranean Flour Moths, Millipedes, Mosquitoes, Mud Daubers, Red Flour Beetles, Rice Weevils, Sawtoothed Grain Beetles, Silverfish, Small Flying Moths, Sowbugs, Spiders, Stable Flies, Ticks, Wasps
Target Uses of 565 Plus XLO
565 Plus XLO Aerosol is best used as a crack and crevice treatment in wall voids, underneath baseboards, around window sills, around doorways, and any other entry points. 565 Plus is frequently preferred as a contact kill for exposed pests and as a flushing agent for cracks and crevices to identify harborage sites of pests such as cockroaches. 565 Plus XLO is also labeled to be used a space spray for many pests, including flying insects, stored product pests, and pantry pests, making it a great alternative to traditional foggers. 565 Plus XLO is easier and safer to use, treatment is faster, and reapplications can be made more frequently (always follow the label directions).
565 Plus XLO can be used in sensitive areas where residual sprays may not be permitted, or it can be used in conjunction with residual methods as a contact kill. Do not apply 565 Plus XLO on top of baits or in areas where baits will be applied.
Use the included straw for crack and crevice and flushing treatments. Use the open actuator for space spray and spot treatments.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Pyrethrins 0.5%, Piperonyl Butoxide 1.0%, MGK-264 1.0%

Works and Keeps working, worth your money
By David on April 11, 2010
Worth every penny. I bought this after having a massive infestation from my next door neighbor in the building where I used to live. I tried all the stuff in local supermarkets like Raid and other brands that were like spraying bad air fresheners on the roaches. I called an exterminator, this is what he used, and IT WORKS WONDERS. About a year later I moved to a different building and had a roach problem again, and this time I ordered this 565 Plus, and now three years later I moved into a home, first thing before unpacking I sprayed some in the closets, kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. My bottle is finished and I am ordering another one. By the way it works on ants and flying big roaches as well, in my opinion this is the best pest spray I have ever used. Buy it and tell all of your friends about it!

No smell, yes the vapors linger, not good for the pets in the house, but the bugs don't like it indoors or outdoors.

I bought this to use in my apartment for roaches. It works great. The only downfall is that I have to spray it around my house about every 4 days because they keep coming back.

By Chuck on August 26, 2014
I have used 565 for years and it has been always been a good product. The latest version with XLO has even better knock-down power. I just cleaned out a pesky infestation of meal moths and used it directly on a wasp nest with excellent results.

I operated a pest control business in Texas for a number of years and always relied on this product. It's great for flushing voids where critters like to harbor and has that great "knock down" that we enjoy. It irritates the bejeebers out of roaches, and, if you're not careful, your pets and spouse....so READ THE LABEL!! If a little is good, a LOT ISN'T so use sparingly and you'll achieve great results.

I had a nasty case of these little flying buggers and NOTHING worked until I used this! It does smell harshly but it works brilliantly on all the pests and critters I have come across from japanese beetles, stink bugs, fruit flies and spiders.

I have used this product for the past several years and have had very good results. It doesn't take a lot, so I don't go through it has fast as a business would. I will continue to order as long as it is available. Have always been pleased with the service and the product.

This is a great product to use for knats.Repeated treatment from commercial sprayings would not get rid of them. Purchased this and now at our nursing facility the knats are gone

This is an "Ok" product
By GA on May 27, 2013
This product is "ok," it smells a lot, and the spray flies everywhere. The direct spray cap is also very hard to put on, I ended up not using the direct spray cap due to it being difficult to put on. Heads-up, this spray is for a direct spray killing of pest, and does not leave a residual to continue killing off bugs.

Billy was right!
By Barbara on April 5, 2013
Plagued by red wasps is an everyday happening in East Texas. After watching a "Billy the Exterminator" show, I discovered this pyretheum based wasp killer. It works great, kills wasps dead immediately and they don't come back. Helped kill wasps in rafters and after sealing holes, no new bugs to bite me! This is my second year to order this stuff just to have on hand as needed for the grandkids visits. A great product that lasts a long time and isn't lethal to anything but the bugs!

This product works, you don't need to use more then the directions state. I have used other OTC products that have an odor that you can get sick with and did not work as well, so you end up using more. I have used this product for years and do recommend it. The price here was the best.

Nora from Hemet, Ca asked:
QIs this safe for domestic pets, cats, dogs, etc?

R. from Stockton Ca. asked:
Qwhat is a good flush for roaches to flush them out we used it in Ga.
A565 Plus XLO would be a great product to use to flush roaches out of hiding. It contains pyrethrins which are highly irritating to roaches and will usually flush them right out of hiding.

Bill from Mississippi asked:
QI am searching for a contact spray for flushing and killing German cockroaches.
I cannot quite afford a cold fogger such as the B&G or Actisol units yet, so I need a way to inject product into cracks and crevices. I will be following up the treatments with residuals, dusts and baits, but need a quick initial knockdown.
A565 PLus Aerosol would be a great flushing agent and contact killer for German roaches. 565 PLus does come with a straw attachment for spraying into cracks, crevices and voids.
February 25, 2011 Paula asked:
QDoes 565 spray cause other pest problems?
My sister has had her house sprayed several times. The exterminator she hired used 565 Plus XLO spray, but she still has bites. What is going on?
A565 Plus XLO will not cause any pest problems. You did not indicate what type of pest the pest control operator is spraying for, but we will tell you that 565 Plus XLO is a pyrethrin based insecticide. It does not leave any active residual,so any pest that is to be eliminated with this spray must be directly contacted to be killed.
September 15, 2009 Sherri asked:
QDoes 565 Plus XLO ruin fabrics e.g. sofas, carpets, etc?
AWe have never had any complaints about 565 Plus XLO Aerosol ruining any fabrics. That being said, we always recommend with any kind of pesticide or cleaning product that you want to use on a sofa, chair, etc, that you first apply it in the back or in a inconspicuous area first to make sure it is safe before you apply it in more noticeable areas.

Garry from Petoskey, Mi asked:
Qdoes this can fit in the konk dispenser?
I see konk is out of stock. what do you have to replace konk?
A Konk has been discontinued by the manufacturer. It has been replaced with 565 Plus XLO and/or CB-80 Aerosol. The 565 MAY fit into the Konk dispenser due to it being similiar in size. The CB-80 is a 20 oz. can so it may not fit.

Dawn from Redding, Ca asked:

Bill from Columbia, Sc asked:
QDoes 565 Plus XLO contain any PYRETHROIDS such as , PERMETHRIN, BIFENTHRIN, & CYPERMETHRIN?
I want a reasonably priced indoor insecticide that doesn't contain any Pyrethroids. Preferably a spray, but maybe also a fogger.
A 565 Plus contains pyrethrins but does not contain any pyrethroids. 565 Plus can be used as a space spray and a crack and crevice spray. You can see exactly what 565 Plus contains and how it can be used by reading the product label. We have linked the product label for the 565 Plus in our answer but product labels and MSDS are available for each product on our site and you can see the product label links and the MSDS links on each individual product page.

Don from Fl asked:
QWill 565 Plus XLO kill cloth moths? Will it harm animal mounts, deer, elk, etc?
A 565 Plus XLO will kill cloth moths when you spray them directly with the product. 565 Plus XLO is not labeled to spray animal mounts so we cannot say for sure that it will not cause any damage. We can tell you that many mount owners do use 565 Plus XLO or Cy-Kick aerosol to get rid of cloth moths and carrion beetles. You should choose 565 Plus XLO for a fast knockdown and Cy-Kick Aerosol if you need a long lasting residual. Be sure to hold the can at least 12 inches away from the mount and spray in a sweeping motion. You should also test the product you choose in a small inconspicuous area before spraying the entire mount.

July 31, 2010 Patricia asked:
QIs 565 PLUS XLO safe around babies and children?
Is it safe to use on the baseboards if you have a baby that is crawling, or there are children playing on the floors near the baseboards?
A Yes, 565 PLUS XLO contains the active ingredient pyrethrin, a natural botanical insecticide made from chrysanthemum flowers. All infants and children should be out of the area during the application and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry. We also recommend venting the treated area for about 30 minutes prior to sensitive individuals returning.
