Adonis 2F contains Imidacloprid, the same active ingredient used in Premise and Merit.
Adonis 2 F is a new product containing Imidacloprid, the first non-repellent and most proven termiticide/insecticide on the market as well as foliar and insect systemic applications. Adonis 2F provides reliable structural protection from subterranean termites on residential and commercial structures. In addition to providing subterranean termite treatment and protection, it also provides superior exterior ant control. Since Adonis 2F is a non-repellent, social insects like ants and termites spread the product around their colonies which eliminates the entire colony, including the queens. Adonis 2 F is also labeled for termite pre-treatments. Adonis 2F is effective, easy to use, and economical.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
By Ken on April 24, 2012I purchased this product to use as a systemic insecticide for several large hibiscus plants here in Orlando. I was tired of weekly spraying for aphids and other assorted pests. This product worked as advertised. I followed the label directions and applied to each shrub as a soil drench and no more pests. I'm also able to enjoy the flowers longer now that I am not spraying them directly with an insecticide. Another great product at a great price from a great company. Thanks DMOPC!!!

Worked Perfectly

Verified PurchaseThis is one of those products that just works. I mixed it, poured it on the root zone - done. After about 2-3 weeks, white fly hone from coconut palms and Gumbo-Limbo. Excellent service from DMOPC. Highly recommend both.

October 9, 2011Fred from Miami Florida asked:
QHave palm trees with white flies (limbo gumbo spiral fly). What is the best product and procedure?
AImidacloprid is the active ingredient you will need to systemically control whitefly on your palms. Adonis would be the product of choice for soil drench applications for whitefly infestations. It can take a few weeks for the Adonis to translocate through tall trees and you will most likely continue to see whiteflies in that time period. While you are waiting on the imidacloprid to translocate you should treat the foliage with a product such as Talstar P or with insectidical soap or insecticidal oil.
December 12, 2011Ted from Lake Worth, Fl asked:
QHow do I apply Adonis 2F as a soil drench for ficus with whitefly?
How do I apply this as a soil drench? Do I use a sprayer? I have a very large ficus tree with white flies.
AMost people use a 5 gallon bucket or a large watering can to apply Adonis as a soil drench. You will need 0.1 to 0.2 fl. oz. (3 to 6 mL) of Adonis 2F per foot of shrub height or 0.1 to 0.2 fl oz per inch of trunk diameter for trees. The amount of water that is used will vary depending on soil conditions and volumes that are easy for applicators to use. The minimum amount of water that should be used is 1 pint per foot of shrub height (or inch of trunk diameter for trees) but you may use 1 quart -1 gallon of water per foot of height (or inch of trunk diameter for trees) as well. Denser soils such as clay do not accept water as readily, so the lower volume of water is suggested. Since sandy soils can accept more water, using the higher volume of water is preferred. After the soil drench has been applied you should water it in with at east 1/2 inch of water. Note: Water simply acts as a carrier and it is important that even distribution of the product is achieved. Thus, more water may be used if the applicator feels runoff will not occur and proper penetration of the root zone is achieved. Insecticides applied to the soil are taken up by the roots and translocated throughout the tree or shrub. Root/soil drenches offer the advantage of requiring no special equipment to apply (other than a bucket or watering can). However, surface layers of organic matter, such as mulch or leaf litter, can bind the insecticide and reduce uptake. Before applying drenches, it is important to remove or pull back any mulch or dead leaves so the insecticide solution is poured directly on the mineral soil. It is also important to keep the soil around the tree or shrub moist for the next 7-10 days after applications to encourage uptake. We also recommend using a product with an active ingredient that is different than the soil drench for a foliage application while you are waiting for the Adonis to translocate through the ficus. Talstar P is the most popular choice for foliage application on ficus for white fly.
November 4, 2011Paul from Rineyville Kentucky asked:
QWhat concentration of Adonis 2F should I use for grubs in my turf?
I noticed two different concentrations on the product label.
AYou will need to use 0.46 to 0.6 fl. oz. (14 to 17 mL) of Adonis per 1000 sq. ft. You should use the higher concentration for faster knockdown and a longer lasting residual. For optimum control, make applications preceding or during the egg laying period of the target pest. The active ingredient in this product has enough residual activity so that applications can be made preceding the egg laying activity. Application timing can be based on historical monitoring of the site, previous records or experiences, current season adult trapping or other methods. Most favorable control will be achieved when applications are made prior to egg hatch of the target pests, followed by sufficient irrigation or rainfall to move the active ingredient through the thatch.
March 25, 2012Jay from Amherst Oh asked:
QIs Adonis 2F effective for green bore ash tree applications?
What would the recommended water :chemical ratio be for the once a year dosage
AAdonis 2F is labeled to use on trees to help protect against boring beetles. Treatments should begin in May or June and should be done every year to protect trees from the Emerald Ash Borers. Most people use a 5 gallon bucket or a large watering can to apply Adonis as a soil drench. You will need 0.1 to 0.2 fl. oz. (3 to 6 mL) of Adonis 2F per inch of trunk diameter for trees. It is recommended that you use the higher rate for boring beetles. The amount of water that is used will vary depending on soil conditions and volumes that are easy for applicators to use. The minimum amount of water that should be used is 1 pint per inch of trunk diameter for trees but you may use 1 quart -1 gallon of water per inch of trunk diameter for trees. Denser soils such as clay do not accept water as readily, so the lower volume of water is suggested. Since sandy soils can accept more water, using the higher volume of water is preferred. After the soil drench has been applied you should water it in with at east 1/2 inch of water. September 18, 2011Russ from New Berlin, Wi asked:
QGreenhouse White Flies, nothing seems to work.
These pests are everywhere, and Talstar and Demand both didn't do the trick. Will Adonis 2F do the trick on these?
AAdonis 2F is our most popular product for whiteflies. It usually will do the trick over the others since it is a sytemic, meaning the plant will actually soak up the products in its circulatory system and any insect, including whiteflies, that feeds on the plant will actually ingest the Adonis product and die. Talstar and Demand are not systemic.
September 22, 2011Joe from Melbourne, Florida asked:
QI have a 30 foot canary island date palm that has a palm weevil infestation. What product should I use?
AWe would recommend Adonis 2F, which is a much more economical version of Merit. You would use the soil drench method. Apply .2 ounces per inch of trunk diameter. Soil Drench: Apply uniformly as a drench around the base of the tree in not less than 10 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Direct application to the root area. Remove plastic or any other barrier that will stop solution from reaching the root zone.
January 3, 2012Mary from Fla asked:
QI have white fly in my ficus bushes and I am looking for a systemic insecticide to treat ficus.
AYou will need to use a product that contains imidacloprid such as Adonis 2F to treat systemically for whitefly on ficus. It can take several weeks for the Adonis to translocate through the plant. We recommend using a product with an active ingredient that is different than the soil drench for a foliage application while you are waiting for the Adonis to translocate through the ficus. Talstar P is the most popular choice for foliage applications on ficus for white fly. Please take a few moments to read a previous Q&A which explains in detail how to measure your ficus to determine how much product you will need and also how to apply the product: Q&A.
September 4, 2011Brian from Wa. asked:
QIs this Dominion's new label?
ANo, Dominion does not have a new label. Adonis 2F is a very similar product to Dominion 2L, but it is made by a different company. They should perform the same way, but they are not made by the same company. Adonis 2F is made by Envincio, and Dominion 2L is made by Control Solutions.
September 7, 2011Jan from Mcewen, Tn asked:
QHow can I mix the Adonis 2F to make an application for fleas & ticks ON my dogs?
I want to use Adonis instead of Advantage on my dogs.
AYou CANNOT use Adonis on your animals in place of a topical flea and tick product. While these products may share a common active ingredient, the formulation is very different and you can cause substantial harm, even death if you apply Adonis to your animals.
March 11, 2012Jim from United States asked:
Qwhat kind of product do you use for a bug that eats the roots of flowers and plants just planted?
every time we plant flowers they die within the first 2 months, we pull them up and there is no roots left on them.
A We are not sure what exactly is doing the damage, but Adonis 2F is a great product for that purpose. Adonis contains imidacloprid, which is a systemic and can be taken up by the roots of the plants and flowers. When bugs eat the roots, no matter what but it is, they will ingest the insecticide and die. As long as the plants you are treating are not edible and not near a garden, this product would be good to apply. It is typically applied as a soil drench, meaning you mix up a gallon or two at a time and drench the area that you are having trouble with. Please read the product label for full instructions on soil drenching. Here is a link to the product: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/adonis-2f-insecticidetermiticide-p-1758.html
April 4, 2012William from Huntsville, Alabama asked:
QHow much Adonis2F do I need to treat 10K sq feet of trees?
AAdonis 2F is applied according to how many inches each tree is in diameter at breast height. You will need to use .2-.4 fl oz per inch of trunk diameter depending on what pest you are treating for and weather or not you have an active infestation. You can review the Adonis 2F product label for exact usage rates.
January 31, 2013Sarah from Charlotte, Nc asked:
QHow frequently should Adonis 2F be applied for whitefly/aphid infestation on large ligustrums?
I used entire 27 1/2 oz on 36 ligustrums that are about 10 feet tall. Leaves have sooty mold and eggs are on undersides of leaves. Hoping systemic will be effective before eggs hatch in March. How frequently should I apply the insecticide? And, did I use enough?
AYou will need to apply Adonis two times per year for whitefly. You may also need to use a foliage spray such as Talstar P to get control of the whitefly as the Adonis is tranlocated through the plant (it can take about month to translocate through the plant).
April 3, 2013Scott from Pohnpei, Micronesia asked:
QHow many years is Adonis 75WSP active in soil treatment?
I was reading How to perform a termite treatment and saw that it stated Suspend would last 10 years and Dominion 7 years. Is there a figure for Adonis 75 WSP( or Premise 75 or Imaxx Pro)? Imidicloprid is the AI in Dominion and these 3 so is active period the same? Description for Adonis only says remains in soil for years. Is there something more specific? Thanks
AAdonis 75 WSP is labeled to be reapplied every 5 years. While it will likely last as long as Dominion 2L it has not been tested that long so the manufacturer cannot claim it is active for longer than it has been tested for. We recommend using a product that contains imidacloprid (Adonis, Dominion) or fipronil (Termidor or Taurus) for the best termite protection.
