Advance Termite Bait System - Pro Kit (15 stations) Advance Termite Bait System Kit Video

New bait cartridges in our pro kits now contain 33% more bait! Control more termites for longer periods of time.

The Advanced Termite Bait System is the next generation in termite baiting. It is one of the most widely installed bait systems by professional pest control companies today. Unlike older bait systems, the Advance Termite bait stations have larger vertical slots that allow for maximum wood-to-soil contact, creating the perfect opportunity for termite attack. Each station contains a wood base and a Termite Inspection Cartridge of enticing Puri-Cell cullulose matrix that is very appetizing to termites. When termites are found in the stations, the cartridge is replaced with a termite bait that wipes out the entire termite colony.

The Advance Termite Bait System Pro Kit contains:
  • 10, 15 or 20 Termite Monitoring Stations that each contain a wood base and a termite inspection cartridge. These stations are to be placed 10-15 feet apart around your home.   Larger homes will require more stations.
  • 6 Termite Bait Cartridges for use when termite activity is present in the stations.
  • 1 Spider Access Tool for easy access to the bait stations.

Advance Termite Bait System Kit is made up of these products:

Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II (6 pack) 1 x Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II (6 pack)
Used for the Advance Termite Baiting System when termites are present in the monitoring station. New baits (version II) contain more bait and last longer.

The Advanced Termite Bait System is the next generation in termite baiting. The termite bait station features vertical slots that allow for maximum wood-to-soil contact, creating the perfect opportunity for termite attack. Each station contains a Termite Monitoring Base with preferred wood that is appetizing to termites. Above this rests a second cellular source, the Termite Inspection Cartridge containing Puri-Cell matrix in a clear cartridge that makes inspection easy. A Quick-Lock cap eliminates keys and hinges. The Spider access tool allows a technician to open the the stations easily while standing.

USE: Install around the perimeter of homes and commercial buildings. Stations are placed in the ground (usually with a post hole digger or shovel) every 10 feet around the structure. The stations will attract termites before they ever reach the structure, then allowing you to bait and eventually kill the termites. Monitor the stations on a quarterly basis. If termite activity is present, replace the Inspection Cartridge with the Termite Bait Cartridge.

5 of 5 Stars  Really works
By Irv on September 15, 2008

Seven weeks later, September 11, 2008; Of the 14 stations that I installed, 6 were hit with termites. Four monitoring cartridges were entirely consumed; 90% of one was gone, and 50% of the fifth. 6 bait cartridges were installed. I was skeptical, at first. But, the Advance Termite Bait System really works.

5 of 5 Stars  Many advantages to using this product
By Irv on July 10, 2008

I did extensive research on baiting systems and settled in on the Advance Termite Bait System, based on its many advantages. DoMyOwnPestControl is great.  The stuff was shipped in one or two days. Fortunately, UPS Ground delivers to me from the Atlanta area within the next day of shipping. I would definitely buy from this web site again.

5 of 5 Stars  Advance Termite Bait Station
By Jim on May 9, 2010

Very happy with the system; Have used a different system in the past and when I compared the advance system to it; it was superior in every way. Very easy to install. I thought I was going to have to use an auger but first tried with a post hole digger and that worked fine. Installed 14 stations in 50 minutes..... very easy!

5 of 5 Stars  As easy as it looks
By Bruce on June 27, 2010

I had a company install and monitor stations for several years, it was expensive. I decided to do it myself. It was as easy as the video shows, the post hole digger is perfect for the job. These stations are wider and seem of better quality and design than those used by the commercial company whose little lids would get lose and get sucked up into the lawn mower.

5 of 5 Stars  Advance Termite Bait system - Easy Installation
By Jerry on March 24, 2011

I recently purchased the Pro-Kit Bait system with 15 stations. I also found a 2-1/2" auger bit which I used to drill the holes for the bait stations. The installation was easy and the folks that prepare these stations have them all ready to install. I couldn't ask for a better product. Complete instructions are easy to follow as well.

5 of 5 Stars  Easy to use and saving $$$
By Bill on April 3, 2013

After trying the termite bait stations that the home improvement stores carry and being disappointed with their cardboard innards giving false signs of termites. I bought these. Using a bulb planter auger, I purchased from Amazon.com, on my drill, I was able to install 20 of these in less than 20 minutes. These seem to be exactly like the Sentricon system I paid a bug man much more to originally install and then maintain. We're saving about $200/yr now, verses paying the bug company. Yes, I do have to do my own checking of these, but common, how hard is that? They came with a neat tool to open the tops.

4 of 5 Stars  Advance Termite Bait System
By Jim on September 7, 2012

I bought the 15 station kit because it has everything you need and it is much cheaper than buying it a peice at a time. The product was easy to install but does take o some effort to dig the holes. I wasn't able to find a 2 1/2 inch auger bit so I dug the holes by hand. In 45 days I'll check my bait station for activity and go from there. For now the station are tamper proof and flush with the ground so i don't need to worry about the kids or animals disturbing them.

By Chris on August 12, 2012

I did a lot of research and found this system to be one of the best for do it yourselfers. All parts seem to be of high quality. I used the Home Depot Spectracide stuff before. The termites were going through it like crazy...and my deck too. Only had this in for two weeks, so I'll write an update when I see results.

QWhy can't I just place the bait in the station and not use the advanced termite inspection and the advanced
Why can't I just place the bait in the station and not use the advanced termite inspection and the advanced termite monitoring base?

AThe answer is a little involved, but basically it is scientifically proven and required that all baiting systems start out with monitoring stations.  Every baiting system on the professional market is that way for a reason.  The reason is because you want the termite colony to infest the station and think that the normal wood inside and normal monitoring cartridge is a valid food source.  They will hit it hard because no termites will be dying at first.  Once they have eaten on the wood and monitoring cartridge for a little while and you replace it with the bait, they will still think it is normal wood and cartridge and injest the bait much faster, ensuring the colony is eliminated.  It has been scientifically proven that if you start out with bait only, and the termite colony starts dying right after eating it, they will leave the station and move on before enough termites have eaten it to kill the colony.  Since the point of the baiting system is to eradicate a whole colony, it is very important enough of them eat the bait or it will not work.  The only way to ensure this is to get them hooked on the normal wood and monitoring cartridge first.

May 21, 2011Chad asked:

QUnder customer reviews John stated that these bait stations only target the young termites of a colony.
Is there any truth to this statement, and if so on average how long does your bait station take to actually take to kill the entire colony? Thank You, A potential Buyer

AJohn is mistaken.  Termite baiting systems will only effect the worker termites of a colony, the most important ones whose job it is to find food.  The stations target any termite, young or old, that is a worker and finds the food for the colony.  Baiting systems work by killing the worker termites which provide food for the colony.  If the worker termites die, then the colony crashes.  This can take a few months up to a year depending on the size of the colony and other factors.

September 6, 2009William asked:

QWhen should you replace the wood-base in the Advance Termite Bait Station?
When do you need to clean out the whole station?

AYou should clean out all of the Advance Termite Bait Stations completely and replace the wood base at least every 12 months, or once a year.  Depending on where you live and the climate and amount of rain, you may need to replace the wood base more often.  If the wood bases become very soggy and moldy then you should replace them.

July 29, 2009Gerry asked:

QCan you put two Advance Termite Bait Stations at the same location?
If you have activity actually on your foundation or in a specific location, would it be useful to put two Advance Termite Bait Stations together at the location? Also, is there any other liquid spray products that can also be used along with the traps?

AYou do not want to place two Advance Termite Bait Stations next to each other, if you have activity. The label does not permit this, and also you could possibly disturb the colonies entry trails into the other station by digging into the ground. Termidor is the only liquid that you would want to use near a termite bait station, but you can only place Termidor next to the foundation of the structure.

July 13, 2010Jorge asked:

QIf a home is already infested with termites, will installing the bait system get rid of them?

ANo, the baiting system is a preventative treatment and will only intercept new termite colonies coming towards your home.  The baiting system has wood inside it that is what the termites are looking for.  If a termite colony is inside your house and has already found wood, then they have no reason to leave the house to look for more food.  The only reliable way to get termites out of your home is to treat directly with a liquid application.  This is explained in our "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article on our website.

QWhat is the EPA number on Advance Termite Bait System?

AOnly one component of Advance termite Bait System has an EPA registration number, there is not one number for the whole kit. The Advance Termite Bait Cartridge EPA Registration # 499-488, The Advance Termite Inspection cartridge is not regulated and does not require an EPA reg number. You can always find the EPA number on the MSDS which is always available on our website on the Product Label and MSDS page.

October 2, 2011David from Phoenix, Az asked:

QAdvance termite bait system and flood irrigation?
I'm leaning towards purchasing Advance Termite Bait System, but I get flood irrigation twice a month 10 months out of the year. I was wondering if you know if this product can work with flood irrigation?

AIf you mean can the system be in standing water, the answer is yes.  It will not harm the plastic station.  However, the wood inside can get moldy and would probably need to be replaced. If the stations are full of water or the wood has too much mold on it, termites will not want to enter the stations.  Typically the wood needs to be replaced at least once a year, but in your case you may need to do it twice a year.

November 8, 2011Bill from Mansfield, Ma asked:

QHow does Advance compare with the Sentricon system?
Which one is more effective? Which one has been on the market longer? Is there any research confirming Advance's effectiveness?

AThe Advance Termite Bait System has been on the market for many years though we do not know how long exactly. The Advance System is probably more widely used than the Sentricon system and is comparable to the Sentricon System. You can definitely research the Advance Bait system's efficacy just by searching it online or going directly to the manufacturers website. You can find more information on the product by searching the active ingredient Diflubenzuron on the internet. You can also find a lot of information by reading the Installation guide, Product Label and Supplemental Label.

QQuestion about using Premise 75 next to foundation for termite control.
One of the existing posted answers says “Termidor is the only liquid that you would want to use near a termite bait station, but you can only place Termidor next to the foundation of the structure.” Would it be acceptable to do a trench treatment with Premise 75 next to the foundation and place bait stations 4 feet from the foundation?

ATermidor, Premise or Dominion 2L are all considered non-repellents and would be fine to apply as a trench and treat against the foundation if bait stations are present.  Dominion 2L is a premise generic and one bottle of Dominion makes twice as much finished solution as a bottle of premise for half the price.  Your bait stations typically want to be 2-4 feet away from the foundation, but not under the drip line of the roof.

QWhat are the dimensions of the Advance Termite Bait Stations?
How deep will each hole need to be for each station?

AEach Advance Termite Bait Station is 7 inches long and 6 inches wide (at the top). Each hole should be the length of the station plus 2 inches to allow water to drain off when it rains. There are complete installation instructions available on our website on the Advance Termite Bait System page if you click on the Product Label link.

November 3, 2011Tim from Greer asked:

QHow far apart should the termite baiting stations be placed around the house?
Or to put it another way, how do I know how many units I need to order?

AFor best results, the termite bait stations should be placed 10 feet apart around the house.  The instructions say they can be placed as far as 20 feet apart, but most termite companies place them 10 feet apart which is the recommended distance in the pest control industry.

March 31, 2012Tim from Sacramento, Ca. asked:

QIf I had found termites in my back yard, away from my house, will the baiting system work?
If I were to plant one of these guys right on top of where I found their nest two years ago, would that be the best way to go about killing the colony? (I would also be installing these at 12' intervals around the house)

AThere is no way to know for sure if that same colony would find the station.  However, any wood that is left in the ground will eventually most likely have termites in it....so eventually a termite colony would find it.  There are always termites around in the ground, but our main concern is protecting your home which is why installing the baiting system around your home should be your first goal.

April 3, 2013Ron from Greenville, Sc asked:

QWhat is the annual operating cost for a 15 stations of Advance Termite Bait System?
Are there any additional start-up costs associated for 15 holders and bait station system? What is needed to be replaced annually and what would be the current annual cost if you had termite activity in 8 of the 15 bait stations.

AEvery 12-24 months you will need to replace the wood base (TMB) which at the current market price will be $43.50 for all 15 stations and the Termite Inspection Cartridge (TIC) which at the current market price is $58.90 for a bag of 25. When activity is found and you must use the Termite Bait Cartridge (TBC) you can purchase the bait in a box of 6 baits for $95.76 at the current market price.
