carpenter ants) with the active ingredient indoxacarb, an insecticide that acts through ingestion by ants. The bait's slow-acting poison provides enough time for foraging ants to return to nest sites and contaminate other colony members including larvae and queens, eventually destroying the entire colony. Each bag contains 30 stations. Adhesive backs are included so that the stations can be mounted on surfaces such as the corners and sidewalls of cabinets.

Product Documents
DuPont Advion ant bait arena provides complete control of nuisance ant colonies with the active ingredient indoxacarb, an insecticide that acts through ingestion by ants.
Placement of ADVION Ant Bait Arenas in and around structures will kill foraging ants, including fire ants and harvester ants, but for complete control of outdoor nests of fire ants or harvester ants, use a broadcast or direct mound treatment product. Space sprays or other residual insecticides should not be applied directly to or near the bait arenas. Application of these insecticides can cause ants to behave abnormally and therefore reduce the potential of feeding on the bait inside the station. Foraging ants must be able to feed on the bait and return to the colony.
How to use Advion Ant Bait Arena effectively:
Advion ant bait arenas should be placed in areas where ants are currently foraging or foraging activity is suspected. The ant bait arenas should be placed adjacent to active foraging trails when possible. Care should be exercised in order to reduce the disturbance to the natural foraging pattern. If placed along foraging trails properly, ants should detect and begin feeding at the bait station within approximately 30 minutes. An increase in foraging activity around the station indicates good recruitment.
Indoor Use:
- Thoroughly inspect infested area to determine proper placement of ADVION ant bait arenas.
- Placement of 1-4 ant bait arenas where ants are observed is adequate to control normal ant infestations. Heavy infestations or infestations that are difficult to access or heavier infestations in larger areas may require application of additional ADVION ant bait arenas.
- ADVION ant bait arenas may be placed on vertical surfaces by using an adhesive on the bottom of the station.
- In addition to being placed directly along foraging trails, place ADVION ant bait arenas along walls, under appliances or industrial equipment, inside garbage containers, inside cabinets, under furniture, or any locations where there is ant activity or ants can potentially gain entry into a building or structure.
- Do not place arenas on food preparation surfaces.
- Inspect the ADVION ant bait arenas periodically and replace as needed or every 2 to 3 months.
Outdoor Use:
- Thoroughly inspect infested area to determine proper ADVION ant bait arena placement. Pay close attention to areas where ants may gain access to a building or structure
- Apply ADVION ant bait arena on or near building/structure exterior areas where ants are actively foraging such as near tree bases, along exterior walls, around garbage-collection areas, utility accesses, windows, vents, or along the ground next to structures.
- ADVION ant bait arenas may be placed on vertical surfaces by using an adhesive on the bottom of the station.
- Placement of 1-4 ant bait arenas where ants are observed is adequate to control normal ant infestations. Heavy infestations or infestations that are difficult to access or heavier infestations in larger areas may require application of additional bait arenas.
- Inspect the ADVION ant bait arenas periodically and replace as needed or every 2 to 3 months.

Advion Really Works
By Vernon on April 8, 2010
Verified PurchaseIf Advion is placed in the ant trail they really do start taking the bait within 30 minutes. The ants are very active and almost bump into each other going into and out of the Bait Arena. Ants are gone in less than 24 hours. Completely satisfied and glad that we purchased this product and followed the instructions.

Ant problem solved!
By Dsk on April 22, 2010
Verified PurchaseLast season the Advion bait traps worked when all other OTC traps failed, including professional spraying. Our exterminator recommended the Advion. Whereas the ants seemed to ignore other traps, the ants seemed sucked into the Advion and within 36 hours I had lots of dead ants and the stream of ants previously coming out of the walls had stopped. I just bought another bag for this season.

Advion Ant Bait Arena - Disappointing
By RF on May 31, 2010
Verified PurchaseVery Disappointing. Our tiny blank ants run by them like they were not even there. They probably work well for some ants, but were not a good use of money for me.

Bait application
By Phillip on February 2, 2011One of the more effective ant baits, Advion works well for my people. Made by DuPont, Advion stays effective for about two to three months. We always place it below knee level as it is very toxic. Effective inside and outside when placed near my ant trails and ant activity.
Advion ant arena
By Margie on September 28, 2012The product got to me on time as promised, the ants are gone, when they reappear I put the Advion and the ants leave. Thanks for carrying such great product
May depend on ant type
By Anna on April 25, 2012We have tiny black ants. They actually appear to be repelled by the bait. After placing the baits in the trail didn't work (the ants would go around and over it, but not inside), I cut one open and placed the substance directly in the ants' path. They just went around. I then sprayed it with a little sugar water to make it more attractive. To no avail. The ants were attracted to the sugar water in the vicinity sure enough, but avoided the bait. When I picked up a few ants with a toothpick and placed them directly on the bait, they just ran away.
It works!

Verified PurchaseWhere other products failed, Advion worked. Sometimes it takes awhile until the ants respond, but most of the time they disappear in a few hours. I recommend it strongly.

Roaches gone
By C on May 13, 2011I use these in a dog kennel and you can not beat them. When I first took over the kennel you could not get a way from the roaches. Within a short time with the bait out, there was no more and when I see one I get new bait and they are gone. You can not buy anything better for the roaches.
Best Ant Control I've ever bought!
By Lynn on April 12, 2013I have lived in an older mobile home for 12 years. For the first 10 years I was plagued by Common House Ants every spring and summer. (They are the little ones that have a really strong smell when smashed.) They were around the sinks and tubs when it was hot and dry out, and also into any open food stuffs they could find, including the 2 bowls of dry cat food I keep out at all times. I spent literally thousands of dollars on perimeter sprays, cans, bottles, baits, traps...and nothing worked. Then I did a little research about what type of ant I had, and products that work best on them. Now, every spring I buy this stuff by the bag, I throw a dozen or so under my mobile home, and put the rest inside the house. I have not had to throw out a single bowl of cat food in the last 2 years! I swear by this product! When we had the same problem where I worked I told my boss what to get. It worked perfectly there too! If they find a new way in, I just put one there, and they are gone in hours!

June 2, 2010Jose asked:
QDoes the Advion Ant Bait Arena have a short life shelf ?
AAdvion Ant Bait Arenas have a shelf life of about one year after the bag has been opened.
September 17, 2010Ken asked:
QHow do the Advion Ant Bait Arenas work in the yard with the sprinklers going on daily?
AAlthough the Advion Ant Bait Arenas can be used both indoors and outdoors, you would want to be careful to place them outdoors where they would not be in direct contact with large amounts of water from the sprinklers. Typically, the stations should be place immediately around the structure and close to the foundation. Try to place the stations where they would not come into much contact with water. Since the stations are small, they can easily be placed behind downspouts, under rocks, under ground cover like pine straw and mulch, etc. where water will not fall directly on them.
September 30, 2010Ken asked:
QAre the ant bait stations you sell, the same product used by professional pest control companies or knockoffs?
I'm looking for Dupont Advion ant bait stations.
AWe only carry professional-grade pest control products (no fakes or knock-offs), the same products that professional pest control companies use. In fact, not only do we sell products to consumers, but we also sell to the professional pest control companies too. You can check out the product label and product reviews on the Advion Ant Bait Arena page.
May 25, 2012Jennifer from Washington asked:
QDo I need to do anything to the trap or are the ready to go out of the package?
I had used them before and they were amazing (from a pest control pro) so I ordered a bag when we had ants again this spring. The baits do not seem to be doing anything so I wondered if I missed a step of removing part of the packaging or adding water or something.
AThe Advion Ant Baits come ready to use. Ants nutritional needs change frequently. This means that one day they may only forage for proteins, like what is contained in the Advion Ant Bait Stations and another day they may forage for carbohydrates like the ingredients contained in the Maxforce Ant Bait gel. We recommend leaving the Advion Stations in place and allow the ants to continue their natural foraging. We also recommend using an ant bait gel or liquid in the same area where you placed the stations to allow the ants to select the bait that fits their needs.
July 13, 2012James from Waretown, New Jersey asked:
QAre the Advion Ant Bait Arenas dangerous to pets and children if they touch them?
AThe actual bait is contained inside the center of the Advion Ant Bait Arena so just touching the exterior of the arena will not be harmful. We do still recommend placing the stations in areas that are not readily accessible by pets and children.
