    Did not work

    By Rmacler on 04/13/2011

Did not work at all for me. Live in south central TX. Spread it near where the ant trails were as well as around mounds, and the ants completely ignored it. It has been three weeks and I have used up most of the jar and the fire ants are still happily infesting my yard. Very disappointed with the price and lack of results.

    Simply Ineffective

    By Ed on 03/11/2017

This product came highly recommended by a good friend. Don't know if they changed the formula or I got a bad batch. One mound treated several times and the fire ants are alive and well. Very disappointed.

Thank you for your comments! Usually when fire ant baits are not effective it is either because insecticides were used just before or after the bait was applied, or because the ants are not foraging. Fire ants will generally be foraging when temperatures are around 65-80 degrees F. You can test to see if fire ants are foraging by placing a few potato chips around the mound and checking after a few hours to see if the ants have foraged on them: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-fire-ants-a-470.html Please let us know if we can further assist you anytime!

ADVION FIRE ANT BAIT MADE BY SYNGENTA

    By John on 10/20/2014

Just want to say that this is like manna from heaven for fire ants. Want to say it does not work like the advion by dupont I got last time from you. I personally would not give it any more then a one. I suggest if dupont still makes this product I would get it from them. Sorry about this bad report but it just makes them build a bigger kingdom. That is in the same bed they just stretch it farther out. I like the dupont it was a good product. I will still order from you but will be a different product.

The entire Advion line was bought by Syngenta, so all Advion products are now made by Syngenta, although none of the formulations have changed. When baiting for fire ants, you want to make sure that the ants are foraging. An oily food such as potato chips place near ant mounds can be a great indicator of whether ants are foraging.

    Does not work for me

    By Diane on 12/09/2022

I have distributed this product twice around my entire yard and still there are tiny red ants and the big bowl ants. It has not rained nor have I put water on any of the areas. Not sure why it is not working for me. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money.

Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the performance of this product. However, please do keep in mind that according to the manufacturer's product label, Advion Fire Ant Bait is only effective when ants are actively foraging, which is usually when the soil surface temperature is above 60 degrees. Additionally, this product is specifically formulated for targeting Imported Fire Ants, Big-headed Ants and Pavement Ants, so if you may want to make sure you have correctly identified the ants you are dealing with to ensure that you are using the correct products.
