Additionally, unlike other mouse bait stations, Aegis Stations provide convenient placement flexibility for vertical or horizontal mounting. While the design allows for two mini blocks of rodenticide or one regular block of rodenticide to be safely secured inside, the see through tunnel entices mice to enter and feed. Features include built-in versatility, including vertical or horizontal mounting, anchoring holes for securing the Aegis Mouse Station to floors, walls or pipes, A key for keeping the station locked and secured, easy-open lid that allows for quick replacement of rodenticide bait, and heavy-duty construction for years of dependable service. Black Lid Dimensions (in inches): Length 5 1/2, Width: 4 5/16, Height (lid closed): 1 5/8, Height (lid open): 1 3/8.

    Pretty good

    By Doug on 11/04/2011

Make sure you notice the size of these stations before ordering to ensure they are the size you want.  I did not (my own fault) and they were actually a lot smaller than I expected. You have to cut the regular size bait blocks in half which is messy. Otherwise, a good value.

    Work nicely outside

    By Kathy on 11/13/2012

I use these outside in an orchard setting near my cherry shrubs. I stake each one down so that it doesn't get carried away. Yes, there are 2 little spikes for 1/2-sized baitchunks to be place onto in the outer corners, but I was able to lay 2 full-sized chunks down between the spikes. The mice then have to nibble from that square opening you see inside the station.

Load it up and kill em

    By Steve on 11/10/2014

    Verified Purchase

I like the fact this one holds two blocks of food. If the center tab doesn't work for your food just clip it off. For me it wasn't a problem but side cutter can nip it if it is a concern for you. Like having 1 key work for all units but I do have a mixture of these and a another that works good for corners. I like these better because as winter hits I don't have the bait station issues of running out while covered in snow.

Q
Can Aegis Mouse Bait Stations hold 1 whole bait chunk? (apx 1"x2") One reviewer says 'No.'

I would like to use these outside in a fruit tree area to remove mice and voles. I am interested because they are supposed to be more sturdy and I want to anchor them in place with a stiff wire into the ground.

A

The Aegis Mouse Bait Station is made to use with Generation Mini Blox or a soft bait like TakeDown which is made by the same manufacturer as the stations. Many customers also choose to use a bait from a different manufacturer and they but they do need to be no larger than 1 x 1 to fit in the station or be a soft bait.

Q
Does Aegis Mouse Bait Station work for squirrels too?
A
The Aegis Mouse Bait Station would most likely be too small for a squirrel to fit into. The Aegis Rat Bait Station is more likely to be able to accommodate squirrels.

Q
Do the Aegis Mouse bait stations come with bait or must that be purchased separately?
A

The Aegis Mouse Bait Station do not come with bait. We recommend using the Generation Mini Blox or Take Down Soft Bait which is very attractive to rats and mice.

Q
Will pets eating dead mice be poisoned?
A
The animals would have to eat their body weight in dead mice to become poisoned. For some of the poisons, such as Contrac Blox, there is an antidote if the pet does exhibit signs of being poisoned. We would recommend contacting your veterinarian if you have any concerns.
