After about 3 seconds of dusting, the stream of powder tapers off to hardly anything. Why?

Then I tap the side of the hopper several times and it starts dusting ok. It slows things down considerably. Suggestions?

Answer:

It sounds like the dust you are using is clumping and sticking to the side of the hopper. The dust you are using may have been exposed to a little bit of moisture which is causing caking or clumping in the duster. You can shake the Dustin Mizer as you are using it to keep the dust moving.
