Brad from Santa Rosa, Ca writes

I am replacing a grassy area with mulch. What can I use to kill the grass roots?

I have cleared the grass but want to apply a pre-emergent to keep the grass (several types) from growing up through the mulch.

Answer:

If you are wanting to use a vegetation mgmt product you may want to use Bonide Ground Force Vegetation Killer. It kills all unwanted plant growth for up to a year. Use Bonide Ground Force Vegetation Killer wherever you want to prevent weed growth like driveways, paths, fences, tennis courts, play areas, and sidewalks.
