5 of 5 stars  100% bahia free now
By David in SC on 08/09/2014
    Verified Purchase

Bought this after a little resesrch on bahia removal and it worked great. Sprayed in May before seed heads came and 2 weeks later the bahia was completely dead. The yard looked terrible because of the high percentage of bahia but after heavy fertilizer and water I now have a thick bermuda lawn that is filling in nicely. This stuff is strong. Do your research before use because it is known to kill oaks.

5 of 5 stars  The effectiveness o f using Am Tide MSM 60
By Wanda in Miami Gardens, FL. on 09/17/2013

When my nephew told me about Am Tide, I thought it was too expensive. After using Am Tide, it actually killed my weeds even though it rained, weeds haven't come back. I am using it in different sections on my lawn because I don't want my yard to look burned. So far, I am really pleased.

4 of 5 stars  Good product, but slow
By Charles in Athens AL on 04/13/2016

I use on a Bermuda lawn to kill dandelions, white clover, and removing the cool season grasses like poa and fescue. Product does work, but is very slow to get to its business. Applied in early spring, it will take about 3 weeks for the poa to die off. You will think its not doing anything and will be tempted to use glyphosate, and then you'll walk out one day and its all yellow. It kills most broadleafs much faster, and clover within the week. It doesn't seem to be as lethal on fescue, and only stunts it, so I mix with Image. It does require a surfactant and you should put a turf dye in with it.

QHow long does it take to see the results of AmTide MSM 60 DF?
I sprayed yesterday and was wondering how long it should take to see results. I'm treating St Augustine Grass for dollar weed and it says I may need to repeat but I don't want to kill the grass. Today I don't see any difference but then it has only been 24hrs.

AWhen applied to actively growing young weeds, susceptible plants appear chlorotic from 1 to 3 weeks after application and the growing point subsequently dies.

QI have a 25 gal sprayer. I am Killing kudzu and weeds in a pine tree plantation. How many oz. to 25 gal?
How many oz. to 5 gal. For normal weeds in St. Augustine grass in my yard?

AAccording to the product label: Use on St. Augustinegrass, Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass (Meyers and Emerald)

Apply 0.25 to 1.0 oz. AmTide MSM 60 DF HERBICIDE per acre for weed control. Some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application.
RELEASE—HARDWOOD CONTROL AND SUPPRESSION
AmTide MSM 60 DF HERBICIDE is recommended for application over the top of established slash and loblolly pine to control the species listed in “Weeds Controlled” and “Brush Species Controlled” section of this label. Apply 1 to 4 ounces per acre to control the species indicated, including kudzu.
Keep in mind when dealing with herbicides, the amount of water is not the key in application. As long as you are following the label and dispersing the correct amount of product over the correct amount of area, the amount of water you use doesn't matter. On average you want to use at least 1-2 gallons of water per 1000 sq/ft you are treating. If it takes you 25 gallons of water to cover an acre, then you would mix up to 1 ounce of Amtide to the 25 gallons. If it takes you 50 gallons to cover an acre, you would split what you plan to use in half and treat half an acre at a time. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

QHow much product of AmTide MSM per gallon of water is needed?

AWater just acts as the carrier, thus there is not a specific amount of water to be mixed with the AmTide. We recommend contacting Amtide at 949-753-4723, they will be able to give a more broken down mixing ratio.

QWhat is the mixing rate of AmTide MSM 60DF Herbicide ounces per gallon for treating WhiteTop?
I have a 3 gallon backpack sprayer I am using 1/3 oz for three gallons?

A

On page 38 of the AmTide MSM 60DF Herbicide label, it states to use 1oz per acre for treating WhiteTop. Without knowing how big the area is you want to treat and how much water it takes to cover that area, we are not able to give specific mixing rates. Example: If your treatment area is 1/3 of an acre and it takes 3 gallons of water to cover that whole area, you would use 1/3oz of AmTide MSM 60 DF Herbcide as you indicated. Please refer to the label for mixing instructions or contact us directly at 1-866-581-7378 Mon - Fri 9am -5pm EST.†
