Product Overview

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is for use on emerged aquatic weeds and brush in aquatic and in non-crop areas. It is able to be used in aquatic sites such as rivers, lakes, irrigation ditches, wastewater treatment facilities, and estuaries. This product is acceptable in non-flowing, flowing or standing water. Aquaneat Aquatic Herbicide has great control of willow, johnsongrass, and cattail. Aquaneat Aquatic Herbicide must be mixed with water and non-ionic surfactant and applied via foliar spray. Will see results within 2 to 4 days on most annual weeds. It may take 7 days or more to see results on perennial weeds. Avoid contact with foliage, exposed nonwoody roots, desirable plants and trees, and green stems.

When treating aquatic weeds, a non-ionic surfactant labeled for aquatic use sites must be used.  We recommend DyneAmic Surfactant.

Details

Aqua Neat is a water-soluble liquid, mixes readily with water and nonionic surfactant to be applied as a foliar spray after dilution and thoroughly mixing with water in accordance with label instructions for the control or destruction of many herbaceous and woody plants.

Always use the higher rate of Aqua Neat per acre within the specified range when vegetation is heavy or dense. When treating dense multi-canopied sites or woody vegetation or difficult-to-control herbaceous or woody plants.

Aqua Neat moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. Visible effects on most annual weedsoccur within 2 to 4 days but on most perennial brush species may not occur for 7 days or more. Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow the activity of this product and delay visual effects of control. Visible effects are a gradual wilting andyellowing of the plant which advances to complete browning of above-ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts.

Unless otherwise directed on this label, delay application until vegetation has emerged and reached the stages described for control of such vegetation under the “WEEDS CONTROLLED” section of this label.

Unemerged plants arising from unattached underground rhizomes or root stocks of perennials or brush will not be affected by the spray and will continue to grow. For this reason best control of most perennial weeds or brush is obtained when treatment is made at late growth stages approaching maturity.

Do not treat weeds or brush under poor growing conditions such as drought stress, disease or insect damage, as reduced control may result. Reduced results may also occur when treating weeds or brush heavily covered with dust.

Reduced control may result when applications are made to any weed or brush species that have been mowed, grazed or cut, and have not been allowed to regrow to the recommended stage for treatment.

Rainfall or irrigation occurring within 6 hours after application may reduce effectiveness. Heavy rainfall or irrigation within 2 hours after application may wash the product off the foliage and a repeat treatment may be required.

For best results, spray coverage should be uniform and complete. Do not spray weed foliage to the point of runoff.

When this product comes in contact with soil (on the soil surface or as suspended soil or sediment in water) it is bound to soil particles.

Q
How much area will a 2.5 gallon jug of Aquaneat Aquatic Herbicide cover?
A

Per the product label:

"For Broadcast Application: Use 1.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution if weeds are less than 6 inches tall. If weeds are greater than 6 inches tall, use 2.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of an approved nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution."

So, a 2.5 gallon jug will cover about 13 and 1/3 acres.

For hand-held, high-volume application: Use a 3/4 percent solution in water plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution and apply to foliage of vegetation to be controlled. A 3/4 percent solution would be made by diluting 3 quarts in 100 gallons of water, or 1 oz. of concentrate per 1 gallon for hand-held equipment.

You can refer to the product label for dilution rates and coverage for specific weeds and other applications.

Q
does this work on water meal?
A
The Aquaneat does not work on water meal. This is a very difficult item to get rid of and the only product we are aware of that will control watermeal is Sonar Aquatic Herbicide. It's not the most ideal price but it is the only product on the market known to work on watermeal.
