    Q
Are there restrictions to swimming in and around areas where Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide was applied to the dock?
We had a professional use this on docks around our small lake but not notice was given. People were swimming in the lake

  • Asked by Jeannie from Newark
    06/26/2014
    Q
How much area will a 2.5 gallon jug of Aquaneat Aquatic Herbicide cover?
    A

    Per the product label:

"For Broadcast Application: Use 1.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution if weeds are less than 6 inches tall. If weeds are greater than 6 inches tall, use 2.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of an approved nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution."

So, a 2.5 gallon jug will cover about 13 and 1/3 acres.

For hand-held, high-volume application: Use a 3/4 percent solution in water plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution and apply to foliage of vegetation to be controlled. A 3/4 percent solution would be made by diluting 3 quarts in 100 gallons of water, or 1 oz. of concentrate per 1 gallon for hand-held equipment.

You can refer to the product label for dilution rates and coverage for specific weeds and other applications.

    Q
does this work on water meal?
    A
The Aquaneat does not work on water meal. This is a very difficult item to get rid of and the only product we are aware of that will control watermeal is Sonar Aquatic Herbicide. It's not the most ideal price but it is the only product on the market known to work on watermeal.

  • Asked by Paul from Savannah Georgia
    04/01/2015
    Q
Will Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide kill duck weed
    A
Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide  is not labeled for duck weed. The Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide is labeled for duckweed control and will do a good job. For duckweed control, apply Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide at 1-2 gallons/A + 32 oz./A of surfactant in at least 100 gallons of water. Treatment of dense weed areas may result in oxygen loss from decomposition of dead weeds. This loss of oxygen may cause fish suffocation. Therefore, treat only 1/3 to ½ of the water body area at one time and wait 14

  • Asked by Cheryl from Bowie, Md
    04/12/2016
    Q
Can I use Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide for killing Phragmites?
Is Aquaneat Herbicide the best herbicide for killing Phragmites? What is the best time to treat Phragmites with herbicides in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay?
    A

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is labeled to control Phragmites. Per the product label: In other areas of the US (outside of FL and the counties of other states that border the Gulf of Mexico) apply 4 to 6 pints per acre as a broadcast spray or apply a 3/4 percent solution with hand-held equipment for partial control.  For best results, treat during late summer or fall months when plants are actively growing and in full bloom.  Due to the dense nature of the vegettation, which may prevent good spray coverage and unevern stages of growth, repeat treatments may be neccessary to maintin control.
