I have been fighting spider mites for six months, not able to win - just stay even. Finally I went nuclear (Avid) on the little bastids, and they're all in spider heaven now. This stuff seems expensive - but it is SO concentrated that this $100 bottle will last a looooong time. I use 3 drops in 500cc of water in a spray bottle. Used once.

I believe you can avoid pests with preventive measures, but sometimes they just appear. In my case I introduced some plants from another garden. I had what I believed to be broad mites. I used avid every 3rd day for 4 applications and they were gone.

The ONLY secret we will EVER give away because the creators of this product deserve HELLA KUDOS and we are in LOVE with DoMyOwnPestControl.com We use this in combination with TalstarP. Talk about TERMINATE ON SIGHT! Turn your Garden into a Pest GRAVEYARD with this stuff. Enough said! (P.S. You should follow dosage instructions or you'll kill more than your bugs in the process. DO NOT USE DURING FLOWERING. DO NOT USE ON CLONES.)

By Ko in Caliente, California on May 15, 2014
I ordered the Avid 0.15EC without any advice from the seller which cost over $90.00 to get rid of scabies mite. When DMOPC was notified of it, they issued a RMA without any question asked. The folks are professionals. Thank you. Ko Ko

Kicks the crap out of spidermites
July 28, 2013
Works well only a little expensive. Trick is to get under the leaves. I made a long wand out of stiff tubing and curved the tip up to get underneath the leaves. I converted a pop can to hold the liquid and use air compressor to pressurize it and works well. You can buy the pop cans on eBay. The rest at a brewery supply. Once your set up your in good shape.

Chris from San Jose asked:
QIs Avid effective in controlling scale insects on woody ornamentals, such as podocarpus?
If not, do you have other recommendations. The temperature is currently too warm for use of oils without damage to new growth, but I could wait for a cooler week.
Avid 0.15 EC Miticide Insecticide is the best insecticide for mites and leaf miners. ImidaPro 2SC is labeled for the treatment of scale insects on ornamentals. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.

Jane from Utah asked:
QIs there danger of burning if I spray this product during very warm weather?
I've been told my spider mites thrive in hot, dry weather, but I shouldn't spray them when it is hot and dry, because the spray will damage the trees (alberta pines). Seems like the time to kill them is when they are active--I'm confused. Have not seen this product before and am interested. Thanks
A According to the label on Avid Miticide, Excessive cold or warm temperatures may increase the chance of plant damage following application with oils. We would recommend contacting your local extension office to help with a proper time of day to apply the product. Every county has an extension office that is run by your University System. They are located in the same county and are familiar with weather, plant and soil conditions that pertain to your location.

Jeremy from Chicago, Il asked:
QCan Avid.15 EC be used as a wide area spray?
I definitely have a spider mite infestation in my lawn and/or the shrubs, as we get tons of them on the concrete patio to the rear of the house (south side). Can I spray the yard/shrubs with this application?
Avid 0.15 EC is not labeled to be applied to lawns but can be used on foliage plants.
Talstar P works well for both the mature and the immature spider mites. Talstar P provides optimal spider mite control when applied during spring to mid-summer. Higher application rates and/or more frequent treatments may be required for acceptable spider mite control during mid- to late-summer. Talstar can be applied to lawns and is supre gentle on plants and might be a better choice for you.
