Bait station inside or outside the drip line?

I have wrap around concrete porch that extends 6 feet out from the home and the drip line (water from the roof) is about 17 inches from the porch. Do I put the stations 2 feet outside the drip line or next to the porch, which would then put the stations within about 12 inches of the drip line?
