    Q
When preparing Banrot 40 WP do I use a: measuring cup (oz volume) or weigh scale (oz weight)?
The product is sold by weight and it's net active ingredient contents are 40% of that weight but the customary way of preparing mixtures is by volume. 4 - 12 oz (volume or weight)
    A

When using Banrot 40 WP Fungicide you would measure the product in a measuring cup on ounces (volume weight). Please let us know if we can be any further assistance.

  • Asked by Alan from Longwood, Fl
    08/12/2018
    Q
Can you give me a ppm mixture rate for use of Banrot on orchids?
Since I use an old Ortho hose end sprayer for application of fertilizers and fungicides the pounds and teaspoons per gallon specs I've found won't work for my use. I have a EC/ppm meter, so if I could just get a ppm rate I can make the necessary adjustments of product and water for my sprayer like I do for fertilizer applications.
    A

Orchids are not listed on the Banrot WP Fungicide label, therefore we are unable to advise on a mixing rate. We recommend contacting the manufacturer Everris at 1-800-492-8255 for further details on your treatment.

    Q
Will I be unable to use the soil of a Banrot treated plant for vegetables?
If I treat a non-vegetable plant I have planted this year in my vegetable garden with Banrot, will I be unable to grow vegetables in that soil in future years?
    A
Banrot WP is labeled for commercial greenhouse use only. Per the label, Banrot WP is only labeled to be used on coffee beans and certain citrus plants. Do not apply after field transplanting and within two years of the first citrus fruit harvest. For any additional questions, we would recommend contacting the manufacturer at 1-800-492-8255.

    Q
Can I use Banrot WP Fungicide if I might have sylvester palm bud rot?
    A

Banrot WP Fungicide is labeled to treat both Phytophthora and Thielaviopsis bud rots in palms by bud drench, but it is only for use in commercial greenhouses. Whether treatment for your plants is possible will depend on the age of the plants and severity of the problem. This article from the University of Florida Extension has great information about these pathogens and treatment options.

  • Asked by Anand from Fl
    01/08/2021
    Q
I'm having trunk rot at the base of my ornamental palms. Palms are planted in ground. Need rate of Banrot WP Fungicide
The intention is to treat the surrounding areas / ground of the palms. Can you say the dosage per gallon of water? Using a spray can to apply / drench. Possible to give the measurements in "spoons" (tea or table) would be most appreciative. Regards, Anand.
    A

Banrot WP Fungicide is labeled to treat both Phytophthora and Thielaviopsis bud rots in palms by bud drench at the time of seeding and planting., but it is only for use in commercial greenhouses. Whether treatment for your plants is possible will depend on the age of the plants and severity of the problem. This article from the University of Florida Extension has great information about these pathogens and treatment options. The rate is for larger areas as well due to being for commerical use only.  Mix 6-12 oz. of Banrot® 40 WP with 100 gal. of water per 400 sq. ft. (equivalent to 1 quart/sq. ft. soil surface) or apply in sufficient volume to saturate the soil mixture, such as 1 ?2 pint per 6” pot

  • Asked by Thelma from Lake Charles, La
    04/27/2021
    Q
What is the mix rate of Banrot WP Fungicide to treat red blotch on amaryllises? Can this be applied using a sprayer? Treating 75 plants total, mostly in pots but some are in the soil.
    A

Banrot WP Fungicide is for use only in commercial greenhouses for plants and diseases listed on the product label, and does not list red blotch disease. This is not recommended for use on bulbs or in home potted plants.

Unfortunately, we do not have any fungicides that are labeled for this disease. Typically, you will need to destroy badly infested bulbs, and be sure that you do not provide too much overhead irrigation, use sterilized potting soil, and provide overall good growing conditions for these plants. This article from the FL Extension has great information about overall care for these plants. This is another article with more tips on caring for amaryllis.

  • Asked by Tom

    Q
How to measure Banrot WP Fungicide is still unclear? Is it weight? Or is it volume? Is it weight or volume of active ingredient?
If you put 8oz oBanrot 40% in a cup it weighs approximately 3oz. That would be 1.2oz AI. 24oz by volume would weigh 9 oz and deliver 3.6 oz active ingredient. Please clarify. This product carries a warning label. How many dry volume oz per 100gallons?
    A

Banrot WP is labeled for commercial greenhouse use only. It is a water-soluble granule, so the measurements will be by weight rather than volume. You would measure the product in a measuring cup on ounces (volume weight) at 4-12 oz per 100 gallons as directed on the label.

  • Asked by Heather from Jamaica, Vt
    03/16/2024
    Q
How do I mix a stock solution to be used with a fertilizer injector with Banrot WP Fungicide?
I want to drench the bedding plants in the greenhouse but I’ve never had luck understanding how to calculate what my stock solution should be
    A

As indicated in product label for Banrot WP Fungicide under chart for bedding plants (page 4), you would measure the product in a measuring cup on ounces (volume weight) at 4-8 oz of product per 100 gallons of water. Then apply it to 800 sq ft of bed area & use at time of seeding & transplanting. Irrigate immediately with additional water equal to at least half of the volume of fungicidal drench for improved soil penetration.
