Why do I need to use so many different products?
It is important to treat the many different areas that bedbugs hide. Each product included in the kit has a specific function to help eliminate a bedbug infestation.
Kit Contents:
Temprid SC (400mL): A concentrated liquid residual insecticide. Mix 8 mL of concentrate with a gallon of water. The finished solution should be applied with a one gallon hand sprayer. For infested mattresses, remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply Temprid SC to tufts, seams, folds, and edges until moist. Allow to dry before remaking bed. Apply to bedsprings, box springs, and the interior of bed frames or headboards, including all cracks and joints. When bed bugs are found in upholstered furniture, apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur. If bugs heavily infest furniture (inside cushions and/or batting) apply a labeled insecticide dust. Apply as a crack and crevice treatment to all baseboards, moldings, beneath floor coverings and carpets, closets, shelves, curtains, furniture and picture frames that may provide harborage to bed bugs.
Alpine Dust (3 lb. pail): Dust products like Alpine Dust will last on surfaces for 8 months to a year (and sometimes longer), allowing them to kill bed bugs long after your initial treatment. Dusts don't kill as fast as sprays or liquids, but they last longer, which is why we always recommend dusting in addition to spraying. Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room,(this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas) for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc). Alpine Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit.
Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the Alpine dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the bellows hand duster you will be able to apply the correct amount of dust in the correct place.
Phantom Aerosol (17.5 oz): Phantom aersol is one of the best bed bug control products available and will kill all stages of bed bugs including adults, nymphs and eggs. Phantom also has a very long residual that continues killing bed bugs long after you apply the product. Phantom Aerosol can be sprayed along the tufts, folds and seams of the mattress and in the bed frame, box spring and along the cracks and crevices of furniture, etc.

Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer - If your kit comes with Cyonara 9.7 Insecticide and/or Temprid SC we strongly recommend that you purchase a one or two gallon sprayer if you do not already have one. This sprayer makes mixing and applying liquid insecticides much easier.

Bed But problem
By Al on April 11, 2012The bed bugs seem to be under control. We are still cleaning and applying . It was much less to do it ourselves than to hire someone. This was my first encounter with the bed bugs. Since there are 6 appartments in the building, we needed something good. I am well satified thus far. Would recomend this product.

Kit works as promised
By Rob on October 17, 2012 Verified PurchaseOne of my apartments had a pretty bad bed bug outbreak so I purchased this kit to treat the problem. Only the downstairs unit had bed bugs but I treated both up / downstairs since they will travel. I had used one of the cockroach control kits from here previously with great success so I had confidence in the quality of the products from DoMyOwnPestControl. I like the kits as they offer several active ingredients to help combat chemical resistance in the bugs. I ended up treating several times over the course of three months. Bed bugs are tougher to eliminate than roaches. I put Alpine Dust in electrical receptacles / switches with face plates off. I used Temprid on baseboards / bead frames / cracks and crevices. And finally I put Phantom on the tuffs / seams of mattresses / sofas. Additionally I gave tenants spray bottles with Steri-Fab to spray on any bugs they noticed. During treatments the pets went to a pet sitter so they were not around until all the product dried. It looks like the bugs are gone now but I am going to treat periodically for a couple of months to make sure there are no eggs that hatch out and bring the bugs back. I also directed the tenants to strip all the bedding and launder it with high heat dryer cycle to kill anything in there at time of 1st treatment. Told them to do same for as much of their clothing as they could do.

Commercial kit- best choice for treating entire home
By Lisa on October 9, 2012After my husband and I started getting what we thought were bites at night, we researched bed bugs and the treatment. Professional treatment is very costly, and our house is big, so we thought we'd give it a try on our own first. The concentrate spray and the powder are fantastic. We never did find any bed bugs, but a thorough application of this kit stopped all bites/rashes and insect frass in bed. We did have carpet beetles (also eradicated by the kit). My sister is using DE for her carpet beetles and is not having as much luck. Buy the comm. kit. Highly recommend it

This did the job. I had plenty left over so I loaned some to 2 other people with great results. The powder keeps them from coming back. Highly recommend this product. Buy the sprayer too.

AHow far one can of Phantom will go will depend on a few different factors; how big the room is, how many items in the room are being treated and how heavy the applicator sprays the Phantom. If you are only spot treating with the Phantom, one can will treat 3 or 4 rooms. If you are using the Phantom to treat around the bulk of a large room one can most likely will only treat 1 room.

AIf you are talking about our Commercial Bed Bug Kit, then it would definitely be more than enough for a 3 bedroom house. It might be way too much as the commercial kit is usually for larger apartment buildings and hotels treating 5 or more rooms. For a 3 bedroom apt you should try our Bed Bug Kit #3. Since the bed is the #1 harborage area for bed bugs, purchasing a bed bug proof mattress encasement dramatically improves your chances of taking care of the bed bug issue quickly and effectively.

A All of the MSDS and product labels for these products can be found on the individual product pages. All of the products require children and pets to be in an other room while you are treating. Once the products have been applied, you should not re-enter the room for about an hour. After that period the products should all be dry and it is ok for children and pets to re-enter the room. AThe commercial bed bug kit should easily be able to treat 3 rooms about 5 times. Normally you should treat a bed bug infestation every two weeks until the problem is gone. Number of treatments is dependent upon how bad the infestation is.

AThe Bedbug Commercial Kit was made specifically with hotels in mind. Rooms infested with bedbugs must be treated every 7-10 days until the infestation has been eliminated. Thoroughness will help speed up the process. Everyone needs to be out of the room while the products are being applied. They can return to the room as soon as everything is dry which usually takes 1-2 hours.
