Why do I need to use so many different products?

It is important to treat the many different areas that bedbugs hide. Each product included in the kit has a specific function to help eliminate a bedbug infestation:

 

Kit Contents:

Cyonara 9.7 (8oz) is a concentrated liquid residual insecticide. Mix 0.4 fl oz of concentrate with a gallon of water. The finished solution should be applied with a one gallon hand sprayer as a coarse, low-pressure spray to harborage areas including crevices, baseboards, loose plaster, behind bed frames and headboards, beneath beds and furniture, and to bedsprings and bed frames. Residual effectiveness will last up to three months. This product will not kill Bedbug eggs. Try to make direct contact with as many bedbugs as possible.

***Do NOT apply Cyonara to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated with insecticides, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.***

 

PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust (10 oz. bottle): Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room,(this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas) for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc). PyGanic Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit. Apply in a fine coating on surfaces, and do not over-dust.  Leaving piles of dust will just cause the insect to walk around the dust and not through it.

Steri-Fab: Steri-Fab is an alcohol based product that will evaporate after 10-20 minutes and leave no residual effect. Steri-Fab may be sprayed on almost any surface including those sensitive areas that you were not able to treat with other products.(Mattresses, sofas, bedding, dog beds, etc)  This product is one of the only products that recent research shows will kill bedbug eggs. Application: Spray in areas of bedbug activity, such as tufts and folds of mattresses, sofas, etc. (Steri-Fab must come in direct contact with bedbugs and bedbug eggs to be effective)

Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the Drione dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the hand duster you will be applying the right of amount of dust into the right places.

Recommended Accessories:

One Gallon Sprayer - If your kit comes with Cyonara Insecticide and/or Gentrol IGR we strongly recommend that you purchase a one gallon sprayer if you do not already have one. This sprayer makes mixing and applying liquid insecticides so much easier.

Q  I have two dogs in my home. Are the Bed Bug Kits safe to use around them? A Yes, you can use Bed Bug Kits while kids and dogs are in the house.  The products you would be appying in the kit are only strong enough to kill small insects. It is a good idea to keep pets and children outside or in another room while treating and then allow about 30 minutes for the products to dry. Once dry it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the living space. Of course you should always store the products just like any other cleaning chemicals, out of reach of children and pets.

Q  Should you carpet shampoo after using the bed bug kits? If you do will it take away the affects of all the chemicals you just bought and used? A Shampooing your carpet would take away the chemicals from the bed bug kit.  However, shampooing your carpet is not necessary and would not provide any benefit as far as killing bed bugs goes.  The products in the kit are safe to use and very effective on bed bugs.  You should let the products do the work.
