Why do I need to use so many different products?
It is important to treat the many different areas that bedbugs hide. Each product included in the kit has a specific function to help eliminate a bedbug infestation:
Kit Contents:
FenvaStar EcoCap (8 oz): FenvaStar EcoCap is a microencapsulated product containing Esfenvalerate (3.5%). Featuring the EcoCap technology FenvaStar EcoCap is made using a renewable vegetable oil instead of petroleum resulting in almost no odor and no VOCs. This enviromentally responsible pest control product will still quickly knockdown bed bugs. Apply Fenvastar EcoCap as a spot treatment to potential harborage sites and migration paths, and cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls.
***Do NOT apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated with insecticides, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.***
Cimexa Dust for Bed Bugs (4 oz. bottle): Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room,(this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas) for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc). Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit. Apply in a fine coating on surfaces, and do not over-dust. Leaving piles of dust will just cause the insect to walk around the dust and not through it.
Steri-Fab: Steri-Fab is an alcohol based product that will evaporate after 10-20 minutes and leave no residual effect. Steri-Fab may be sprayed on almost any surface including those sensitive areas that you were not able to treat with other products.(Mattresses, sofas, bedding, dog beds, etc) This product is one of the only products that recent research shows will kill bedbug eggs. Application: Spray in areas of bedbug activity, such as tufts and folds of mattresses, sofas, etc. (Steri-Fab must come in direct contact with bedbugs and bedbug eggs to be effective)
Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the hand duster you will be applying the right of amount of dust into the right places.

Recommended Accessories:
One Gallon Sprayer - If your kit comes with Equil Lambda Insecticide we strongly recommend that you purchase a one gallon sprayer if you do not already have one. This sprayer makes mixing and applying liquid insecticides so much easier.

It actuallly worked!!!
By Wendycity on May 31, 2011 Verified PurchaseSo far so good!! I used this kit two weeks ago on my couch, love seat, and bed. I have not been bitten. Thankfully. The kit recommends repeating this process so I will just have to make sure they are gone for good. Make sure to order the pump you will need it. Make sure to follow the instructions as well. Be careful with the dust it is powerful and when it goes up in the air after applying it can be torture. Just be careful. Other than that I'm satisfied. Terminix was going to charge us 300 bucks so I got this kit for way cheaper. Actually you may need to order more stuff so I recommend getting a bigger package for 2 or more rooms.

Still Trying

We are still getting bites and we got rid of couch, beds, mattress, got covers, steamer, etc. We are in the middle of bringing more furniture to the house. But I have to take it to storage. The bugs traveled to the one place that wasn't invaded, and the product wasn't enough for 2-3 weeks of repeating. So I can't give a review until its all gone. I'm ready to call a professional even if I can't afford it.

By Bedbugs on May 13, 2012i had bedbugs in two bedrooms of my house. threw away the old beds and redid the floor/repainted/ and redid/sealed the trim. even before my new furniture came in i started seeing one or four bedbugs on my new walls. I bought the kit and used as directed once my furniture came in. I haven't seen any new bugs. i made sure to use the liquid solution and the power on all furniture crooks and crannies and the trim and gaps in floors. looks good so far. the bottles looked small when they came but since the liquid is a concentrate and the dust uses the duster i still have plenty left for 2 to 4 future treatments on the two rooms. good thing i found this place before spending 600+ on services with little guaranty.

AYes, you can use Bed Bug Kits while kids and dogs are in the house. The products you would be appying in the kit are only strong enough to kill small insects. It is a good idea to keep pets and children outside or in another room while treating and then allow about 30 minutes for the products to dry. Once dry it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the living space. Of course you should always store the products just like any other cleaning chemicals, out of reach of children and pets.

AShampooing your carpet would take away the chemicals from the bed bug kit. However, shampooing your carpet is not necessary and would not provide any benefit as far as killing bedbugs. The products in the kit are safe to use and very effective on bedbugs. You should let the products do the work.

Qcan I spray just the powder in other rooms of the house?
mainly they are in our room ( bed ) but I found 2 today , 1 in the bathroom sink ( upstairs ) and 1 on the couch ( livingroom ).
AWe definitely recommend you treat each room where you have found bedbugs and also the rooms that share walls with the infested rooms.

AOne Bed Bug Kit should be able to treat 2 bedrooms quite easily, but of course factors like the size of the bedrooms and how much stuff you have to treat will come into play as far as how far it will go. If you have a bad infestation, then it could take much more than 2 treatments to take care of your problem. If this is the case, it would be better to buy the Bed Bug Kit #2 or #3 so you have enough product to do subsequent treatments. Pest control companies charge so much money because most infestations require 2 or more treatments.
