Why do I need to use so many different products?
It is important to treat the many different areas where bedbugs hide. Each product included in the kit has a specific function to help eliminate a bedbug infestation. We do not recommend relying on one product or treatment method since bugs may avoid areas treated with certain products, or they may become resistant to certain chemicals. It is also crucial to thoroughly Inspect the treatment area for possible bed bug harborages, and to follow all the Treatment steps, including follow-up treatments.

Before applying any chemicals, it is crucial to prepare the area for treatment by removing clutter, vacuuming, steaming (optional), and encasing mattresses and box springs. Taking time for these preparation steps will make your treatments much more successful. Using the products in your Bed Bug Kit, treat all cracks, crevices, voids, tufts, seams, and folds where bed bugs may be found. Always keep pets, children, and other people out of the treatment area until the products have dried - usually about an hour.
STEP 1 - SPRAY - Cyzmic CS Insecticide
*Wear gloves when mixing and handling pesticides, such as Nitrile Chemical Resistant Gloves.
*Fill the tank 1/3 - 1/2 with clean, temperate water. Shake Cyzmic CS before opening, then add the appropriate amount of Cyzmic CS Insecticide Concentrate per gallon of water to sprayer tank. Use 1 x .4 oz dose per gallon of water for your first treatment; use 1 x .4 oz dose per gallon of water for follow-up treatments. *Cyzmic CS should NOT be applied to mattresses or upholstered furniture. For direct treatment of mattresses and upholstered furniture, use the included can of Bedlam aerosol.
*Close and agitate tank to begin mixing.
*Finish filling sprayer tank and agitate once more before spraying insecticide mixture.
*Apply Cyzmic CS to the following areas, contacting as many bugs and eggs directly in these areas as possible:
- Around bed and furniture legs - Inspect wheels, casters, posts, and legs of all furniture.
- Behind wall fixtures
- Under floor lamps
- Cracks and crevices along baseboards and floor moldings
- Beneath floor coverings and along the edges of wall-to-wall carpeting
- On infested mattress and box springs - Remove linens, then apply to tufts, seams, folds and edges.
- Cracks and joints in bed frames, headboards, dressers, shelves, and other furniture
- Picture frames and wall coverings - Remove from the wall and treat cracks and crevices on and behind these items.
- Around door frames, window frames, and thresholds
- Upholstered furniture - Apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds, and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur.
*Do not remake beds or replace items on shelves or in drawers until spray has dried.
*Do not apply as a space spray or broadcast treatment to floors, floor coverings, mattresses, or other furniture.
*Try to mix only enough spray to use for the day. When finished spraying, empty sprayer completely outdoors, rinse with clean water, then store open and empty.
STEP 2 - DUST - Bellow Hand Duster and CimeXa Insecticide Dust
*Once your spray application has dried, you can apply the insecticide dust.
*Using insecticide dust can be very messy, so be sure to wear gloves and consider having a moist paper towel handy to clean up excess dust.
*To fill the Bellow Hand Duster, remove the black rubber stopper on top of the duster. Gently unscrew the white top of the CimeXa dust, then slowly tap the dust into the duster. Fill the duster up to halfway (or less), so there is plenty of room for the dust to move inside the duster.
*You may want to add a few small objects such as coins, pebbles, or marbles to prevent clumping inside the duster.
*Replace the black stopper so that it fits snugly into the opening. Remove the black rubber cap from the end of the extension wand. To apply dust, hold the duster upside down, so that the extension wand is on top, then gently squeeze the bellows between the thumb and fingers.
*Apply CimeXa Dust to voids and other hidden areas where it will not be disturbed, such as:
- Behind electrical faceplates - Remove switch and electrical plates to gain access to wall voids.
- Along baseboards - Treat any cracks in, above, or below baseboards where the tip of the duster will fit. Also treat under the edges of carpeting where you are able.
- Headboards - Remove from the wall or dismantle to allow thorough treatment.
- Drawers and furniture - Remove drawers and treat along tracks and support, as well as the corners and edges of the drawers. Also treat in cracks and crevices on the undersides of cabinets and other furniture, and in any hollow areas such as bed frame tubing.
- Box Springs and upholstered furniture - Check for tears in fabric backing or other hollow areas where the tip of the duster may fit, and treat these areas.
- Behind wall fixtures - Remove fixtures from walls and treat behind each one.
*Be careful to avoid over-dusting. CimeXa Dust is very fine, and it only takes an extremely small amount to kill a bed bug.
*If dust escapes into open areas, simply wipe up the excess dust with a moist paper towel.
*Do not apply dust as a broadcast or in open areas where it will be moved around as it can become an irritant.
STEP 3 - TREAT CLOTHING AND LINENS
*Although this step does not NOT involve any chemicals in your kit, it is a crucial part of your treatment.
*Clothing, linens, or other fabric items in the infested rooms should be removed in bags, then washed and dried or dry cleaned.
*Do not return items to the infested areas until there has been no evidence of bed bugs for 30 days.
*Failure to make sure all items being returned to the room are bedbug free may cause a reinfestation.
*Objects that cannot be washed can be put into a bag or bin with a Nuvan Pro Strip to eliminate bedbugs. The items must stay sealed for 4 weeks in the bag or bin. If this treatment will not work for you because of the time it takes to eliminate the bed bugs you also have the option of using bed bug heater like the ZappBug Heater. Place your items inside the unit where they will be heated up to 155 degrees Fahrenheit. Within a few hours, all bed bugs will be killed.
STEP 4 - REPEAT! REPEAT! REPEAT!
*Repeat Step 1 (Cyzmic CS) every 21 days until no one is getting bitten and there is no further evidence such as live bugs, cast skins or fresh blood spots found. This is absolutely crucial! Depending on the severity of the infestation it can take a minimum of 7-8 weeks, including repeat treatments. Failure to be thorough can prolong the bed bug control process and can make it harder to eliminate them.

It actuallly worked!!!
By Wendycity in Chicago, IL on 05/31/2011
So far so good!! I used this kit two weeks ago on my couch, love seat, and bed. I have not been bitten. Thankfully. The kit recommends repeating this process so I will just have to make sure they are gone for good. Make sure to order the pump you will need it. Make sure to follow the instructions as well. Be careful with the dust it is powerful and when it goes up in the air after applying it can be torture. Just be careful. Other than that I'm satisfied. Terminix was going to charge us 300 bucks so I got this kit for way cheaper. Actually you may need to order more stuff so I recommend getting a bigger package for 2 or more rooms.

It really works!!!!
By Latoshia in Louisville, Ky on 03/24/2014
First i would like to say that there was an issue with the delivery of my package at first. I contacted customer service and they contacted the post office in my zip code and told me exactly where my package was. I thought that was amazing customer service. Second this kit is amazing I recently moved into my apartment and found it had a small bed bug infestation. I found this site through internet search and it led me to this kit. I received my package and did the treatment that day. I need to add I also purchased a IGR to mix with the Fenvastar. Its been about 2 weeks and I am about to do a second treatment. So far I haven't seen anymore bedbugs or received anymore bites. I know its early but I am very happy with this kit. It also has saved me hundreds as an exterminator would have cost at least 300 and I only paid 72.00 for this kit and IGR. Thanks to this kit I am now getting a good nights sleep. I would definitely purchase this kit or anything else from this site. The customer service was excellent and this product really works.

We are still trying to get rid of it. We are still getting bites and we got rid of couch, beds, mattress, got covers, steamer, etc. We are in the middle of bringing more furniture to the house. But I have to take it to storage. The bugs traveled to the one place that wasn't invaded, and the product wasn't enough for 2-3 weeks of repeating. So I can't give a review until its all gone. I'm ready to call a professional even if I can't afford it.
So far the kit has failed
By Sandy in Winder, GA on 03/20/2017
After a little less than a month of using this product I've only seen a small reduction in bugs at our rental house.
Thank you for your comments! Bed bugs can be a very tricky pest to treat. You should expect to do at least 3-4 treatments to completely eradicate this pest. Usually when folks have difficulty eradicating a population it is because of one or more of a few factors: 1) The population is already well established; 2) There are hot spot harborage areas that are being missed (treatment is not thorough enough); and/or 3) The area is becoming reinfested. We encourage you to review our Bed Bug Treatment Guide to see what parts of treatment may be missing. You can also feel free to call us with any treatment or product questions at 866-581-7378. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-bed-bugs-a-449.html

Had just a few bed bugs my husband brought home from a business trip. My brother-in-law recommend this stuff and I'm so glad he did. The professionals in the area wanted to charge a minimum of $75 just to give me an estimate! No thank you! Still have to do the last treatment but haven't seen any evidence or bites in almost a month.

QHow do you know when the bed bug is completely gone? how long do you keep your clothes in plastic bags?
Getting bit at night. Got confirmation it's a bug, suspect bed bug. The exterminator and I have not seen one bug, no evidence. I went crazy, took everything out of closets, drawers, end tables - everything is in plastic now for a week. I can't live like this anymore. The Exterminator is coming back for a second dose on Aug 13 (that's three weeks), can't live like this. ;) At night, 4am, with flashlight, not one darn bug. No evidence of bed bugs.. I removed my box spring. just have a metal frame holding my mattress (no bugs on the mattress).... Thank you kindly.... Going Crazy... ha!!
AWe understand that having or suspecting that you have bedbugs is enough to drive anyone insane. There is no surefire way to determine if you have eliminated the infestation. The basic rule of thumb is if you can go 30 days without receiving a bite or seeing any new evidence of this pest, you are then considered bedbug free. Bedbug follow-up treatments are typically done every 7-10 days until the occupants of the home do not receive a bite or see any evidence of new bugs for 30 days. At the end of this time period, it is usually safe to unload treated items. Untreated items either need to be discarded or kept in a sealed container for 1 year.
QIs there really anything that will work on eliminating bed bugs?
We've been battling bedbugs (and possibly mites) for nearly a year now. We have used pyrethroid type products like jt eaton kills bedbugs, d-force, temprid sc, temp dust and recently demand. Also used were de and phantom. Except for the dusts and phantom, they were applied every 1-2 weeks for several applications before attempting something different. I can't comment on demand since it was applied recently but none of these products has eliminated the infestation. Phantom and tempo dust worked best but the bites persist. Many are supposed to have great results but haven't seen this and these were applied as directed. Is there a product available that will work without costing a small fortune? Thanks
AThe products you have used are all very effective on bedbugs which of course leads us to a couple of questions. Are you in a house or an apartment? Have you had the bedbugs professionally identified? Why do you think you may also have mites? Have you had the mites professionally identified? Are you actually seeing the insects or just noticing the bites? If you do see the insects where are you seeing them? Do you see any evidence of bedbugs (cast skins, blood spots, feces) and if so, where? Are you treating the entire home? Whenever we hear of a person that has treated their home over and over again with professional products and they are not seeing any relief we know that there is a problem with the treatment program and we must figure out what the problem is so we can help the person get on a proper course of action.
QShould you shampoo the carpet after using the Bed Bug Kits?
If you do, will it take away the affects of all the chemicals you just bought and used?
AShampooing your carpet would take away the chemicals from the Bed Bug Kit. However, shampooing your carpet is not necessary and would not provide any benefit as far as killing bedbugs. The products in the kit are safe to use and very effective on bedbugs. You should let the products do the work.
QI have two dogs in my home. Are the Bed Bug Kits safe to use around them?
AYes, you can use Bed Bug Kits while kids and dogs are in the house. The products you would be appying in the kit are only strong enough to kill small insects. It is a good idea to keep pets and children outside or in another room while treating and then allow about 30 minutes for the products to dry. Once dry it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the living space. Of course you should always store the products just like any other cleaning chemicals, out of reach of children and pets.
QWhat comes with the bed bug kit?
AThis kit contains 1 x 8 oz. bottle of Equil Lambda 9.7 CS concentrate (makes 20 gallons), 1 x 10 oz. bottle of EcoPCO D-X Dust, 2 pints of Steri-Fab bed bug spray, 1 bellow hand duster and our exclusive Step-by-Step Instruction Guide.

QCan I spray just the powder in other rooms of the house?
mainly they are in our room ( bed ) but I found 2 today , 1 in the bathroom sink ( upstairs ) and 1 on the couch ( livingroom ).
AWe definitely recommend you treat each room with Bed Bug Kit #1 where you have found bedbugs and also the rooms that share walls with the infested rooms.

QShould I paint my home before or after treating for bedbugs
I am in the process of preparing my home to spray for bedbugs. Since my whole house will be gutted out we were planning on painting our house as well. I need to know if I should paint before or after treating for bed bugs. I was thinking to paint before so the chemicals don't get eliminated during the painting process. If you suggest painting after, how long should I wait to paint after spraying for bedbugs?
AWe recommend that you treat for bed bugs after painting. The idea is that the bed bugs come out and and come in contact with the treated area. We have a terrific combination of bed bug treatments in our Bed Bug kits.

QDo bedbugs get in your carpet?
ABed bugs can travel through carpet. They most likely will not stay there. They like to hide in more inconspicuous places like cracks and crevices of the head board, in walls, etc. This is why we recommend before treating to steam clean and then use one of our Bed bug kits.

QWill 1 Bed Bug Kit do a 2 bedroom apt?
the apt is infested
AOne Bed Bug Kit should be able to treat 2 bedrooms quite easily, but of course factors like the size of the bedrooms and how much stuff you have to treat will come into play as far as how far it will go. If you have a bad infestation, then it could take much more than 2 treatments to take care of your problem. If this is the case, it would be better to buy the Bed Bug Kit #2 or #3 so you have enough product to do subsequent treatments. Pest control companies charge so much money because most infestations require 2 or more treatments.

QIs it safe to be in the house after spraying the products in the Bed Bug Kit#1?
