DESCRIPTION: Bifen LP Granules and Talstar PL Granules are used to control Ants (including Imported Fire Ants), roaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, worms, crickets, and almost all other insect pests on lawns, in landscaped areas and gardens, and perimeters of residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields. Bifen granules release chemical over time as it rains. One application of Bifen granules can protect your lawn areas for 2 to 3 months. It is safe against non-target animals such as birds, pets, and other mammals.
USE: Bifen LP Granular is generally used in two ways: It can be applied as a perimeter barrier directed in a five to ten foot band around your home, or it can be generally broadcast over your entire yard including landscaped areas. A normal application usually consists of three to five pounds of product. We recommend applying Bifen granules with an Earthway spreader. One 25lb. bag of Bifen covers 5,000-10,000 square feet. Always read the label.
FOR CONTROL OF SCORPIONS:
To ensure optimum control, treat the building perimeter with bifenthrin granules at dusk to prevent outdoor scorpions from entering the building. Scorpions reside hidden in cracks and voids during the day and are active at night at temperatures above 77ºF/25ºC. Resting areas can be identified at night using a blacklight (UV bulb) as scorpions will fluoresce. These areas should also be treated. Prior to treatment, to increase treatment efficacy, remove trash, debris, or firewood that scorpions may use as resting sites.

I ordered this product because my son had a very bad case of Springtails. They were in his house along the side of the house where the a/c was outside. We tried the liquid and also several bags of the granules. They got rid of them and now my son swears by this product. He says it kills all kinds of insects in his back yard which borders on a large forest in Tennessee. I just reordered two more bags for this year. It is wonderful and would recommend it to anyone.

Goodbye springtails!

I tried everything else, believe me, and nothing worked on those pesky little Springtails except this. I first applied the Bifen liquid in a near perimeter around my home and in my crawlspace, then treated the yard in a wider perimeter with these granules. No more Springtails at all! As a bonus, no more black ant invasions in the summer and for the first time my trees are free of those same ants. I tried many big-box-store products to no avail and began to research out of desperation. I am very glad I decided to try Bifen.

Awesome flea product

We've been using these granules for the past year and have had no recurrences of fleas. Hooray! We faithfully mow the grass before each application and have only applied once every three months, continuously throughout the year. This product works great. Highly recommend to anyone who has a flea infestation.

I buy (2) bags at a time so I never run out. This time I gave one to a friend who had fleas in her house and yard, in addition to fire ants in the yard. She brushed the Bifin into the carpet, left it several days and vacuumed. No more fleas. There should be enough residual in the carpet to keep her free of fleas for some time. She also broadcast Bifin in the yard. Great product.

***Tiny Jumping SPRINGTAILS are GONE! ***
By Dianne on September 18, 2012Very dry conditions in Kansas this year have caused these nasty springtails to come in my basement, living room and kitchen windows. I tried spraying (outside) many things, Sevin, Spectracide and others. These are not the blackish colored springtails I was having trouble with, they are the lighter tiny ones. They are not so easily killed. This stuff was awesome! Sprinkled all around foundation and 10 feet out. I put sticky boards at window sills and check them often, I am not seeing anymore:) Even after watering the granuals in, I found they do not disolve easily, or maybe I used a bit too much. I haven't seen any bugs around the house! I love this stuff and I will definately buy it again! Bifen Granuals get an A++ from me!

works grrrreat!
By Joe on August 22, 2012After putting up with roaches inside and fire ants outside, I finally had enough! I called in a professional (myself). I sprinkled the granules on an ant hill that was about 5' in diameter, and within 2 days, the ants were gone. I haven't seen a new mound pop up yet. For the roaches, we first had a company spray the lawn since pur neighbors don't upkeep their property very well. I then put the granules in the shrubs and near the entry steps and outside the doorways. Roaches were on their backs OUTSIDE! Do not hesitate to buy this! One quick note for those that have kids, the granules look almost like play sand, so keep the bag out of reach from the little ones!

I have 2 dogs with sever flea allergies and the topical flea meds were only helping a little. This stuff kept them from bringing fleas in to reinfest. I was happy with it. Will be using again. This has been the worst flea season I can ever remember. Nothing was helping. So I came to this site and ordered this item to treat the yard. Got a house treatment from the vet and kept using the topical meds and it has been so nice.

A We don't have the exact spreader setting for your model spreader. The easiest way to determine the correct setting for you needs is outlined below: If you need to use 3lbs of product per 1,000 sq ft you would add 3 lb of product to spreader, start with a medium setting, then apply product to a 20 x 50 ft area (1,000 sq ft). If you have product left, your setting is too low. If you run out of product, your setting is too high

A Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. We do carry Bifen L/P granules and Bifen IT liquid, both of which can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails.

ABifen Granules recently had a product label change and the new label no longer lists springtails as a target pest. We recommend Cyonara Granules to control springtails and they can be used as a perimeter application or over your entire lawn. Children can safely return to the treated area after it is completely dry.

ABifen granules are not labeled to treat chiggers. The only granule we carry that has chiggers on the label is DeltaGard G Granules. DeltaGard G Granules come in a 20 lb bag and treatment for chiggers requires 2-3lbs per 1000 square feet. However, any type of insecticide, liquid or granule, is very toxic to fish. We would not recommend applying any type of product near a fish pond. Even run off from the surface where you apply a product can be extremely deadly to fish.

AThe product label for Bifen Granules does not say anything about use near a well, but we would suggest not applying granules within 20 feet of the well just to be safe. Also, if your land slopes towards the well you should not apply granules on the slope in case a hard rain causes the granules to move with the water towards the well.

ABifen cannot be applied to a garden area under any circumstances. It is a great product to apply in the yard and can be applied using any hand or push spreader, but it would have to be applied more than 10 feet away from any garden area. For keeping ants out of a garden area, the only product labeled for this use would be a garden specific product such as our Fertilome Liquid Garden Spray which would help deter the ants from walking on your plants.

ABifen granules would not be recommended for any type of indoor use because the granules must be watered in, something that could not or should not be done in a basement. You can use something like Bifen IT to spray indoors on a dirt floor in a basement or in a crawl space as it does not need to be watered in. Bifen IT is very safe to use indoors when used as directed on the product label.

ABifen granules are not labeled for spider control. This could be because the manufacturer did not test the product for this particular pest or they did test it and did not find the Bifen Granules to be very effective for spiders. The Spider Control Kit was put together for people who want to treat indoors and outdoors, the glueboards in the kit can be used in closets, under the sink or in other areas where spiders may harbor and they will help you monitor any infestation. If you only want to treat outdoors for spiders you can purchase the Cyper WP separately instead of purchasing the kit.

AYou cannot use Bifen granules in a vegetable garden. You can place Bifen granules around the outside of the garden to ward off crawling insects. You can also use Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait around the outside of the vegetable garden to help control the fire ants.

ANo, Bifen LP would not be effective for mosquito control. The adult mosquitoes actually hang out in trees and bushes and the larva develop in standing water. Bifen LP granules can only be used to treat lawns and soil for insect infestation. You can use Bifen IT which is the liquid formulation of Bifen to treat for adult mosquitoes. Mosquito larva can be eliminated with BTI Mosquito Dunks which can be placed directly into water sources such as ponds, unused pools and other areas of standing water.
