Bifen IT and the very popular Talstar P have the exact same label and the same amount of active ingredient.
Active Ingredient: Bifenthrin - 7.9% synthetic pyrethroid.
DESCRIPTION: Talstar One, Bifen I/T and other Bifenthrin generics control over 75 common insect pests, including termites. Bifen can be used as an indoor and outdoor pest control, turf and ornamental application, and for treating pests in food-handling areas. Both Talstar One and Bifen I/T contain microcrystals that do not break down easily with rain once they bond to surfaces. Both Talstar One and Bifen IT are clear substances that leave no stains on painted surfaces.
Bifen IT can last up to 6 months outside. It is very effective on Japanese Beetles, clover mites ants, termites, fleas, ticks, spiders, scorpions, roaches, millipedes, earwigs, army worms, mealybugs, mites, grasshoppers, pillbugs, cutworms, sod webworms, weevils, leaf miners, box elder bugs, bees, wasps, sowbugs, crickets, and turf and ornamental pests.
USE: Best applied with a 1 gallon sprayer. Apply to outside foundation and all entry points such as around windows, doors, etc. Always read the label completely before use!

It's amazing!
By Nick on October 9, 2008I bought Bifen IT because I saw it so highly recommended on this website. I had seen at least one cockroach each day since moving into our new house, so I knew that it needed spraying. The instructions for the Bifen IT product were clear and easy to understand. I also got a 2-gallon sprayer to use, and it worked really well. I sprayed around the foundation up to 3 feet and about 2 feet away from the house, along with any other cracks and crevices around doors, etc. I haven't seen any cockroaches in the 6 weeks since I sprayed. It's amazing! I did find a dead one outside the house around the perimeter of the porch. This stuff really works. For the price, it's a bargain, and you can save yourself a lot of money by taking the hour or so to completely do your house. I plan on re-spraying every 3 months to keep the bugs out. If you're looking for a good deal on pest control, do it yourself with Bifen IT. I also had some questions about how to use it and the customer support people here on the site were very prompt and helpful.

"Secret" solution

I live in South Florida and about 4 years ago I noticed a 'new' variety of ant which came in fast and furious. The first year wasn't terribly bad but the second year they had multiplied 5x in numbers. I saw a pest control truck at a neighbors house and asked the guy what he knew about this new ant. He called it the "Caribbean Crazy Ant" (I looked it up on the Internet and sure enough, that was the 'new' ant). He told me that he could control this ant with a "secret" solution, and by the third year I called him for help. I live on a 1.3 acre landscaped lot with many trees, bushes, plants. He sprayed my yard and all the foliage for $200. I guess he thought that I would not attempt to spray this huge yard myself so he actually divulged his "secret" solution. He told me he used Talstar. So back to the Internet I went and found the generic Bifen IT brand. I ordered it and sprayed my own yard the next year for less than $30. The ants stayed away from my house and I will use this product each and every spring from this point on! BTW: of course, not only did it control the crazy ants, it has kept all other pests away as well!

Outstanding results on spiders, mosquitos, ants, fleas/ticks
By Charles on June 18, 2010I own a campground in Texas, and I have been using Bifen IT for several years. I mix 1 ounce of Bifen IT per gallon of water and spray a fine mist on the lower branches of the trees in the campground (up to 6 feet off the ground). The mist that does not land on the tree branches falls to the ground, so I don't have to spray the ground. I treat the campground once every 6 months, and I have absolutely no problems with any insect. It kills mosquitos and ants almost immediately upon contact, and it takes about 30 seconds to kill spiders. When spiders are sprayed, they usually remain still for 15 seconds. Then they begin to feel the effects of the insecticide and their legs start moving frantically back and forth. At the end of 30 seconds the spider is dead. I'm not talking about little spiders. The spiders we have around here have bodies the size of a golf ball. By the way, I should mention that I add 1/4 cup of Dawn liquid dishwashing soap to 15 gallons of mixed insecticide. The liquid soap helps the insecticide stick to the foliage. Excellent product!

Great stuff
By Butch on June 22, 2009I like this better than Malathion and Sevin. I spray our lawn, perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, rain gutters, under our deck and foundation with Bifen IT. I'm on a wooded acre and spray as much of my property as I can. I give everything a good wet spray with a hose end sprayer which offers more coverage than a tank sprayer. I spray a few days after a rain when everything is dried out. I've always thought that the rain and moisture breeds mosquitoes so that is a good time to spray them. There is no odor. But it's the insect protection that is fantastic. We spend a lot of time outside in the yard and gardens. We also spend a lot of time on our back deck at night. In the past it would be unbearable. This stuff kills bugs dead and keeps killing which seems like weeks at a time. Pesky mosquitoes and gnats are history. If you wanna be able to spend time outside and those flying insects are a problem then this is the stuff you need. I just hope the state doesn't outlaw it.

Extremely effective

Finally a solution
By John on May 21, 2013We had a major infestation of ants I was completely unfamiliar with. Red heads and black bodies. I contacted DoMyOwnPestControl who, in turn, contacted an entimologist who identified the ants as 'Alleganie Mound Ants'. Following the instructions on how to mix the Bifen IT with water, I drenched the mound in the evening and in the morning the mound was dead. Thank YOU DMOPC for the help. This is a great product.

Bifen IT - 3/4 Gallon

I have enough to last me the rest of the year and into next year, and that's after I sprayed for some of my neighbors! I would highly recommend this product to anyone having pest problems.

Scorpion Control
By Ray on May 10, 2013I use Bifen IT to keep scorpions out of our Arizona residence. Scorpions come in to find food (other bugs) and Bifen keeps the bugs and therefore the scorpions. I do find a dead scorpion on occasion but that confirms that Bifen does the job.

Water Bugs Be Gone

I have been trying to get rid of water bugs for two years with boric acid , it was ok but not good enough . One day when I was on line , I typed in how to get of water bugs and DMOPC was one of the website that popped up. I read the reviews some good some not but enough was good and the price was right so I decided it could not hurt to give it a try . I watched the video on how to spray the product and did just that . I must say I am very very happy with Bifen IT , If a water bug get into my house by the time I see it it's dead , I see insects dead all the time on the outside including Bumble Bees . I spray every three months and I tell anyone about it that has a insect problem .The price is great and the product goes a long way . I will continue to use this product . If you have a insect problem give it a try but the one thing I did learn is you have to measure the correct amount of Bifen to the correct amount of water . Just because I can't stand water bugs I always mix the highest dose which is 1 oz Bifen to 1 gallon of water . I hope anyone that decides to use this product have great results like I did . Dang Clover Mites!!!
By Anthony on May 6, 2013I received the product but waited to use cause I wanted to locate the highest concentration of these critters, and wanted to get a spray container. I finally abandoned that and reused a windex bottle. Seems they are gone for now. I will check to see what happens when the weather gets warmer but plan to hit'm with another dose in a few days in advance. Great DIY product!

Mosquito Killer!!!
By J. on April 29, 2013I have suffered from allergy to mosquito bites as long as I can remember (40+ years) with a distaste to repellants due to hassle with remembering to use them. WOW! this stuff knocks them out stone cold. It has been a week and a half now and I have seen no more than (3) in the yard and they used to wait beside the door by the dozens waiting for anyone. I also added the Nyguard for good measure and I can't say how happy I am that me and my children can truly enjoy being outdoors without being eaten alive.

ABifen I/T is our most popular choice for mosquito control. The Bifen XTS is the same product, just in a higher concentration. For mosquito control you do not need the higher concentration, it is not necessary. Bifen I/T would also be a better solution then permethrin because permethrin breaks down quicker in sunlight and the Bifen I/T only needs to be applied every 30 days whereas permethrin would need to be applied every two weeks. The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees around the outside patio or wherever you hang out at around the house. You should also treat the tree line in your yard near the forest if one exists. Remember to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves.

AAll of our liquid insecticides including Bifen IT should be applied in dry weather, not rainy weather. All of the liquid insecticides are made to bond to dry surfaces and will last longer when applied when it is dry and not going to rain for at least 24 hours. The temperature does not matter as much. It can be applied in hot or cold weather, but it must be dry and not wet to work at its highest potential.

ABifen IT is considered a general use insecticide and is labeled for outside and inside use. It is odorless, and very safe to use around children or pets. The general rule is that while spraying you keep children or pets in another room or outside to play. After about one hour it should be dry and it is perfectly safe to allow kids and/or pets back in the room. This product is only strong enough to kill tiny insects, and would have no effect on animals like rabbits, etc.

If the soil is not moist, then it is important to irrigate before application or use a high volume application. Apply broadcast treatments at 0.5 to 1 fluid oz. per 1,000 square feet. Use enough finished volume to penetrate thatch or sod. Treat mounds by applying 1 oz Bifen IT per mound in 1 to 2 gallons water by sprinkling the mound until it is wet and treat 3 feet out around the mound. For best results, apply in cool weather (65 - 80˚F) or in early morning or late evening hours.

AYou can use Bifen IT in all of the cracks and crevices along baseboards, door frames, window frames and places where cables pipes and wires enter through the walls and it will help control fleas in that area. Bifen IT cannot be used as a broadcast spray indoors over floors where fleas are known to develop and because of this is not usually chosen for flea control indoors. We recommend you use Ultracide for indoor flea control. It is our recommendation and industry standard that you vacuum immediately before the application of Ultracide and every day or every other day after the application for the next two weeks. Vacuums can physically remove a decent percentage of flea eggs that are in the carpet, along with much of the organic crud that the flea larvae feed on. A critical part of the diet of the larva is dried blood, present there as fecal material from the fleas that are on the pets. Wherever the pets spend time, they will shed the fecal matter and the eggs, so it is extremely important that you focus on these potential hot spots where the pets sleep. A vacuum also will remove a small percentage of larvae, but the larva is pretty tenacious, and will wrap around the carpet fibers down there at the base of the pile, and hold on for dear life as the vacuum passes by. The pupa is even tougher to physically remove, for it uses fibers as part of its "cocoon". The vacuum will stimulate the flea adults still in their pupa form to quickly emerge as the adult, and at this point perhaps be sucked up in the vacuum. Even if they are not removed by the vacuum, at least they now are exposed and susceptible to your treatment. After two weeks most infestations require that you do a second application of the Ultracide and continue with the vacuuming.

AYou should never store product in your sprayer as it will weaken the gaskets and other pieces within the sprayer shortening the life of the sprayer. Bifen IT should be used up within 24 hours of diluting it with water. The longer an insecticide stands in a diluted state the less effective it becomes.

ABifen IT can be used in a hose end sprayer that can be calibrated for the specific usage rate that fits your needs. be sure to review the Bifen IT product label to find the usage rate you will need to use.

AYou must keep Bifen IT applications outside of the root zone of the vegetable plant according to the Bifen IT product label. Spraying within a foot of edible vegetation is usually too close.
