Another great product from Domyownpestcontrol.com
By C. in Batavia, IL on July 27, 2011
Bought four bottles of this stuff to control ants, mosquitos, and japanese beetles. 2oz. in a 2 gallon sprayer and presto! No more bugs. Some of the best stuff I ever bought. About to mix up a batch for the hose end sprayer to do my trees and shrubs. VERY confident it'll take down most anything that it comes into contact with. May seem expensive at first, but the premeasure cup takes the guesswork out of the picture and I'll probably have enough for 2-3 years. Try finding something that works so well in ANY store and not only will you be disappointed, but will get something that probably contains less than 0.5% of what this stuff has. I buy ALL my pest control products from Domyownpestcontrol.com and have NEVER been disappointed with any of their products. Highly recommended.

I live in NM. I purchased the "Bifen XTS" in January. We had a warm Saturday so I mixed and sprayed. Even with the cold weather there were dead roaches the next days. We had 2 weeks of extreme cold weather and snow. Once it started to warm up in the 50 plus temps the roaches were coming out and dropping dead. It continued to stay strong after going through the cold and snow. Good chemical, Irecommend it.

Bifent XTS review.
By B. in dixons mills al. on September 13, 2010
Container makes it easy to accurately measure out the needed amount. The data sheet if fairly easy to follow and this takes the guess work out of the calculating gallons per area of coverage. I used the product for June Bug grubs and it did the job.

I purchased Bifen XTS to replace my overpriced local extermination company. They asked over $900 for a five year retreatment plus a $125 a year membership fee and $90 per visit fee four times a year. If this product performs as advertised, I will be hundreds of dollars ahead in no time. After spraying the outside perimeter of my home, I sprayed several Fire Ant mounds. After making my rounds I checked each mound to find that it destroyed the ants completely. I have not seen any new mounds in two weeks. My faith is growing for Bifen XTS.

Used primarily to control earwings, also takes out lots of other pests since it's broad spectrum. I didn't realize how annoying the crickets climbing up the walls into the under eves were until they were gone. Mixed at maximum label (.12%) to knock down a continuing outdoor Earwig population. The local bifenthin concentrations start at .3% undiluted and you have to mix down from there and would knock out the living population but degrade as more hatched. The XTS oil based seemed like a more durable solution and it's labeled for a higher concentration that seems to be really put the hurt on multiple generations on a single application. Plan on repeating in a few weeks to re-enforce the application, putting an end to this mutli-year problem inherited from prior occupants. Also have Bifen IT water based for indoor and wood to prevent possible staining. PLEASE DO NOT USE ON YOUR FLOWERING PLANTS, this stuff will annihilate your pollinators and the bees have enough things to deal with without chemical warfare.

I have always used the more diluted Bifen and it works as expected, so to use the more concentrated Bifen XTS is the same to me just a different mix. I like the product.

Economical solution to common pest problem
By Bud in Clermont FL on November 18, 2014
This product has worked well for me here in FL. It does have a pretty strong odor when applied so I do not use it indoors. Best for perimeter spraying and targeting bugs outdoors. Do not leave mixed solution in a sprayer as it will gum up the nozzle. Mix and use only what you are going to use immediately. Clean sprayer completely after use.

Bifen XTS for Fire Ants
By Gary in Shreveport, LA on November 13, 2014
I bought this for fire ant control. It is November so it is the wrong time of year for a thorough test of long term control. I have used it on mounds for spot control and it works very well. My hope is that it will work around perimeter of home and on lawn for long term control and prevention. Next Spring will be the real test.

So Far So Good
By Truman in Nacogdoches, Texas 75964 on October 16, 2014
Since the banned product "Mirex" was removed from the market, I have been very dissatisfied with almost everything I tried on "Fire Ants". This product seems to be working better than anything I have tried in a long tome. After I've used it for a year I'll know better.

I began in May treating my lawn for sod web worms using a pesticide from a big box garden center. I sprayed the lawn area twice and at 6 week intervals, not the 3 month interval as listed on the package. In late August the brown circular areas of the dead grass eaten by sod web worms started appearing. That is when I decided to "Go Pro" and began using Bifen XTS. I took my time applied liberally and wore protective clothing as recommended. Even though it is too late in the season to prevent the damage done, I will continue to use Bifen XTS as my 'go to' pesticide in the future.

Bifen xts works as indicated even with heavy rainfalls after application it works I still reapplied to areas near the house and the gardens to ensure good coverage The knock down power is not there at first but as it stated use a different product you recommended for the knock down and continue with the bifen xts. Areas that I did not spray the bifen you could not work near the mosquitos were just plain nasty and unbearable even with deet 100 %So yes I will buy this again and also get the knock down additive at the same time. Great product.

May 23, 2010 Bobby asked:
QWhat is the difference between Bifen XTS and Bifen IT?
I want to use this in a backpack mister/blower for mosquitoes. Will one work better than the other? Also how does this compare to Permethrin SFR?
ABifen I/T is our most popular choice for mosquito control. The Bifen XTS is the same product, just in a higher concentration. For mosquito control you do not need the higher concentration, it is not necessary. Bifen I/T would also be a better solution then permethrin because permethrin breaks down quicker in sunlight and the Bifen I/T only needs to be applied every 30 days whereas permethrin would need to be applied every two weeks. The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees around the outside patio or wherever you hang out at around the house. You should also treat the tree line in your yard near the forest if one exists. Remember to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves.
July 6, 2010 Mike asked:
QWill Bifen XTS harm pets?
ANo. Bifen XTS will not harm pets when used as directed on the product label. All pets and people (except for the applicator) should be out of the area while the application is being made, and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry.

Adam from Brasnon, Mo asked:
QWhat is the residual time of Bifen XTS & how long will it keep bugs away when sprayed?
ABifen XTS will have a residual of about 4-8 weeks depending on rain and UV rays in the given area. Bifen XTS will not repel insects but instead will kill them within 24 hours of contact.
April 29, 2011 Rob asked:
QHow much Bifen XTS would you use in a 60 gallon spray unit?
AThe proper dilution rate of Bifen XTS is .32 of an ounce per gallon of water. This works out to be about 19 ounces for 60 gallons of water, or a little more than 1/2 of a quart bottle.
August 14, 2010 Neil asked:
QWill rain after an application of Bifen XTS reduce the effectiveness of the product?
I applied it to my yard. About 45 minutes after I finished the application, it rained(moderate to light) for about an hour. Also, how long does it take to see results. I have a flea problem, and I am trying to eliminate them.
ATypically, Bifen XTS as well as many other liquid insecticides only need about 30 minutes to dry. Once dry, they can hold up to rain rather well. However, it is much easier for the product to bond to porous surfaces like concrete and siding then grass and your lawn. You may want to apply again just to be safe when there is not rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours. Typically, for fleas it can take a week or two to see results. You should treat every 14 days for fleas. It usually takes at least 2 to 3 treatments since Bifen XTS or any other product will kill the eggs. You need to treat every 14 days, 2 to 3 times, so you make sure the product is strong enough to kill the hatched eggs every 2 weeks.

Shane from Floresville asked:
QIn a metered hose end sprayer(1-10 ounce per sprayed gallon) what should it be set on for yard spraying?
A When using Bifen XTS, you will have to mix 1.6 fl. oz. in at least 5 gallons of water. When using a hose end sprayer, be careful to use the correct amount of water for the dilution rates.

Lance from Ann Arbor, Michigan asked:
QWhat is the best method for exterminating pine shoot borers?
My trees are 25' tall. Every pine, Colorado, Austrian, spruce, etc has the same withered main shoot problem - 15+ trees. Trees growing out not up. I need to reach the tops. Renting equipment every couple weeks to cover new growth is too costly and I do not want to overuse, adding agents to the environment in a plume. Hose sprayers at this angle do not work properly, they should be level.
A When using Bifen XTS to eradicate pine shoot borers, you will use 6.4 to 12.8 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water. If you are using a smaller amount, such as a gallon sprayer, you will use .06 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Treat the trunks and lower branches before adult emergence.

Joe from Jacksonville, Florida asked:
QBifen XTS or IT for Sod worms/lawn moths
Will Bifen work on sod webworms, if so, what is proper application. If not, what do you recommend?
A Both Bifen IT and Bifen XTS are labeled for sod worms and moths. They can both be broadcast across your lawn as well. The biggest difference between the two is that Bifen IT is water based and Bifen XTS is oil based. Bifen XTS also has more of the active ingredient in the solution.

Christopher from Nw Florida asked:
QDoes Bifen XTS kill white flies on citrus trees without harming the plant?
A While Bifen XTS is labeled for white flies it's not labeled to be used on citrus trees. To treat white flies on citrus trees you can use somehing like Bayer Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control. We recommend you read the label to make the proper application.

Glenn from Camp Nelson Ca asked:
QWill Bifen kill and prevent western bark beetles in large pine trees? What is the best mixture?
A Unfortunately, there is no easy solution when it comes to pine beetles. Infected trees should be cut down (before the newly hatched beetles fly out of the trees in the spring/summer) and the wood burned or chipped, while other still healthy trees should be sprayed annually to protect them. Because of the natural boring behavior of the beetle they are protected from topically applied insecticides and systemic insecticides (those injected into the tree or applied as a root drench) have proven ineffective for pine beetle infestations. Healthy trees can be protected before the beetles attack by topically spraying them with a synthetic pyrethroid like Bifen IT. You will mix one ounce per gallon of water. The tree should be sprayed from the ground to 15 ft up the trunk to prevent future infestations. You should contact your local cooperative extension office to find out the best time to start spraying in your region.

QI have chiggers and want to know when and how often to spray for them.
I live in the bay area of No. Calif. and last summer I was bitten terribly by these things. How do I find where they are breeding?
Bifen XTS is labeled for chiggers. You will use 1/6 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be used every 30 days outdoors. Chiggers normally prefer moist habitats such as swamps and bogs, rotten logs and stumps.

Ed from Augusta Ga asked:
QDoes Bifen XTS kill scorpions?
Bifen XTS is labeled to treat for Scorpions outside the perimeter of the home. Mix 1/6 fl oz -1/3 fl oz with 1 gallon of water, apply to a 10 foot wide band of soil andvegetation around and next to the structure, and treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2 to 3 feet. Use a spray volume of 2 to 10 gallons of dilution per 1000 sq. ft. Trim back any bushes, shrubs or trees so they are touching the side of the house. This will limit the insects access to the house from ground only where they will come into contact with the active ingredient, Bifenthrin.

Richard from Texas asked:
QDoes Bifen XTS kill fleas and ticks, and is it okay for cats and dogs?
A Yes, Bifen XTS is only labeled for outdoor treatments for fleas and ticks. We would recommend removing the cats and dogs out of the area while you are treating. Once Bifen XTS is dry, it is safe for the pets to return to the area. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
