Another great product from Domyownpestcontrol.com
By C. on July 27, 2011
Bought four bottles of this stuff to control ants, mosquitos, and japanese beetles. 2oz. in a 2 gallon sprayer and presto! No more bugs. Some of the best stuff I ever bought. About to mix up a batch for the hose end sprayer to do my trees and shrubs. VERY confident it'll take down most anything that it comes into contact with. May seem expensive at first, but the premeasure cup takes the guesswork out of the picture and I'll probably have enough for 2-3 years. Try finding something that works so well in ANY store and not only will you be disappointed, but will get something that probably contains less than 0.5% of what this stuff has. I buy ALL my pest control products from Domyownpestcontrol.com and have NEVER been disappointed with any of their products. Highly recommended.

Bifent XTS review.

Container makes it easy to accurately measure out the needed amount. The data sheet if fairly easy to follow and this takes the guess work out of the calculating gallons per area of coverage. I used the product for June Bug grubs and it did the job.

I live in NM. I purchased the "Bifen XTS" in January. We had a warm Saturday so I mixed and sprayed. Even with the cold weather there were dead roaches the next days. We had 2 weeks of extreme cold weather and snow. Once it started to warm up in the 50 plus temps the roaches were coming out and dropping dead. It continued to stay strong after going through the cold and snow. Good chemical, Irecommend it.

I purchased Bifen XTS to replace my overpriced local extermination company. They asked over $900 for a five year retreatment plus a $125 a year membership fee and $90 per visit fee four times a year. If this product performs as advertised, I will be hundreds of dollars ahead in no time. After spraying the outside perimeter of my home, I sprayed several Fire Ant mounds. After making my rounds I checked each mound to find that it destroyed the ants completely. I have not seen any new mounds in two weeks. My faith is growing for Bifen XTS.

Used primarily to control earwings, also takes out lots of other pests since it's broad spectrum. I didn't realize how annoying the crickets climbing up the walls into the under eves were until they were gone. Mixed at maximum label (.12%) to knock down a continuing outdoor Earwig population. The local bifenthin concentrations start at .3% undiluted and you have to mix down from there and would knock out the living population but degrade as more hatched. The XTS oil based seemed like a more durable solution and it's labeled for a higher concentration that seems to be really put the hurt on multiple generations on a single application. Plan on repeating in a few weeks to re-enforce the application, putting an end to this mutli-year problem inherited from prior occupants. Also have Bifen IT water based for indoor and wood to prevent possible staining. PLEASE DO NOT USE ON YOUR FLOWERING PLANTS, this stuff will annihilate your pollinators and the bees have enough things to deal with without chemical warfare.

I ordered this product from DoMyOwnPestControl (DMOPC) because I thought it was the best deal for the Bifen XTS that I had seen so far. I was actually impressed when I received a call from DMOPC because the address I submitted on my order, even though it was correct, did not show up as a valid address in the system DMOPC was using. This indicated to me that DMOPC was very concerned about insuring proper delivery to the customer rather that simply shipping to an address that possibly could have been a typing error. At A Boy DMOPC. I received my product as advertised and in a very timely manner. The product, if you've ever used it, speaks for itself. The service I received from DMOPC speaks for the professionalism of the people at DMOPC and allowed me to quickly determine that I will use DMOPC's services again in the future. I have already recommended DMOPC to several people for their pest control needs and as long as DMOPC keeps pricing below the competitors and servicing the customer as they did with me, I will continue to recommend them to others.

I live in Tucson Arizona. Home to every type and sort of poisonous insect know to man. Until now, Scorpions, Black Widows etc., have just had their run of the place. Since laying the BIFEN XTS down, all matters and forms of these critters have just flat out died! I also really like the fact that this is also a very potent termiticide! 200% recommend!
Bifen XTS is worth every penny.

I am very pleased with the results of Bifen XTS. It takes a very small amount of the concentrate to make the correct mixture, I have used it for fire ant control in my yard and as a pest control in a storage building and have gotten great result both times. A Great product!

My next door neighbor introduced me to this product and I was blown away. I previously used Ortho Home Defense to combat the major exterior ant problem (which was making its way inside), but could not successfully minimize the population. I even had a "professional" pest control company spray, and this yielded no results. I purchased and have used this product twice in flower beds, the home perimeter, and anywhere I see ant piles and the colonies have subsided dramatically. I plan to treat my lawn with the granules next month for thorough coverage. Fantastic product!

May 23, 2010 Bobby asked:
QWhat is the difference between Bifen XTS and Bifen IT?
I want to use this in a backpack mister/blower for mosquitoes. Will one work better than the other? Also how does this compare to Permethrin SFR?
ABifen I/T is our most popular choice for mosquito control. The Bifen XTS is the same product, just in a higher concentration. For mosquito control you do not need the higher concentration, it is not necessary. Bifen I/T would also be a better solution then permethrin because permethrin breaks down quicker in sunlight and the Bifen I/T only needs to be applied every 30 days whereas permethrin would need to be applied every two weeks. The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees around the outside patio or wherever you hang out at around the house. You should also treat the tree line in your yard near the forest if one exists. Remember to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves.
July 6, 2010 Mike asked:
QWill Bifen XTS harm pets?
ANo. Bifen XTS will not harm pets when used as directed on the product label. All pets and people (except for the applicator) should be out of the area while the application is being made, and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry.

Adam from Brasnon, Mo asked:
QWhat is the residual time of Bifen XTS & how long will it keep bugs away when sprayed?
ABifen XTS will have a residual of about 4-8 weeks depending on rain and UV rays in the given area. Bifen XTS will not repel insects but instead will kill them within 24 hours of contact.
April 29, 2011 Rob asked:
QHow much Bifen XTS would you use in a 60 gallon spray unit?
AThe proper dilution rate of Bifen XTS is .32 of an ounce per gallon of water. This works out to be about 19 ounces for 60 gallons of water, or a little more than 1/2 of a quart bottle.
August 14, 2010 Neil asked:
QWill rain after an application of Bifen XTS reduce the effectiveness of the product?
I applied it to my yard. About 45 minutes after I finished the application, it rained(moderate to light) for about an hour. Also, how long does it take to see results. I have a flea problem, and I am trying to eliminate them.
ATypically, Bifen XTS as well as many other liquid insecticides only need about 30 minutes to dry. Once dry, they can hold up to rain rather well. However, it is much easier for the product to bond to porous surfaces like concrete and siding then grass and your lawn. You may want to apply again just to be safe when there is not rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours. Typically, for fleas it can take a week or two to see results. You should treat every 14 days for fleas. It usually takes at least 2 to 3 treatments since Bifen XTS or any other product will kill the eggs. You need to treat every 14 days, 2 to 3 times, so you make sure the product is strong enough to kill the hatched eggs every 2 weeks.

Ashley from N.c. asked:
QWill Bifen XTS kill bedbugs?
A No, Bifen XTS is not labeled to kill bedbugs and is an outdoor only use product. For bedbug control you will want to use one of our Bedbug Kits as these are the most accurate way to eliminate an infestation in a home. Each kit comes with step by step instructions in the box to help make sure you get rid of all of the pests.

Barbara from Landrum, Sc asked:
QBifen XTS - what else does it kill besides spider mites?
want to focus on killing the red spider mites on my hemlocks and not kill ALL the insects beneficial and non beneficial.

Brian from Lansing, Michigan asked:
QWhat ratio do I mix Bifen XTS with water to kill fleas ?
A Bifen XTS is a little but different than most other insecticides. When using this product you will want to make sure you are getting correct usage rate of .15 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in whatever amount of water you need to cover 1,000 sq ft. In this case water just acts as a carrier. If you need 1 gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq ft you will use .15 fl oz of Bifen XTS per gallon of water over 1,000 sq ft.

Virginia from Girard Ga. asked:
QWhat is the yard area coverage ?
The proper dilution rate of Bifen XTS is .32 of an ounce per gallon of water. Each gallon of water used will on average cover 1000 sq/ft so a quart will cover roughly 2 1/2 acres.

Tim from Omaha, Ne asked:
QI have a spider mite(I think) and springtail problem that is getting out of control. Would this work for both?
The mites are red and kind of hard. Not like clover mites that just squish and leave a red mark. I have tried a handful of pesticides from my local store and it looks like the mites are getting worse(hundreds)....I can see when they are laying eggs on my siding..... please help. Also, springtails are everywhere....this is getting out of control.
A First, we recommend contacting Your Local Cooperative Extension Office to positively identify what type of mite. after positive identification we can properly recommend a successful game plan to treat this pest. Also, please check out our article "How to Get Rid of Bird Mites in the Home". We also have an article for silverfish control titled "Silverfish Pest Control".

Neith from Long Beach, Ca asked:
QCan I pour Bifen XTS into the sprayer, set it on 1 and go spray happy?
I have the product but my math is iffy. I have a 1 once per gallon hose end sprayer. I understand to rid myself of spider mite I need to use .07-.15 fl oz. So my question is if I set my sprayer to 1 should the product be cut or remain as is?
A Hose end sprayers are not the most accurate so for your application a hand pump sprayer would be much more preferred. At no time should you go "spray happy" with a rate at anything other than the label suggests. According to the label, for Spider Mites on ornamentals, you would use .38 -1.28 ounces per every 10 gallons of water. The Bifen IT would be better for your needs than the Bifen XTS as spider mites are not its main usage and is a much higher rate of the active ingredient, therefore causing you to have to dilute much further down for your needs. If your sprayer dial has options for teaspoons per gallon as well as ounces, and you can select an option for 2.5 teaspoons per gallon then your hose end sprayer can be used. Other wise you will need to change your application rate. Please look back over the product label for the product you purchased.
March 18, 2013 Casey asked:
QDo you have to water in the Biffen XTS to treat for chinch bugs?
According to the manufacturer: To maximize efficacy against subsurface pests, apply Bifen XTS with a non-ionic surfactant in enough water to ensure the spray penetrates to soil-thatch matrix. Irrigate treated areas with 0.25 to 0.5 inches of water immediately following application taking special care to prevent run-off or puddling.
