Product Overview

The Bird Barrier Bird Flite Xtra Wide 8 in. Spikes (Per Foot) (bp-f300) is by far the most popular bird deterrent that you can buy on the market. It's perfect if you have problems with large birds like pigeons, gulls and others that can leave messy droppings and debris on your building. It's good for all pressure levels and perfect to put on architectural ledges, chimneys, pipes, signs, street lights, small equipments, steel beams, roof peaks and even on boats.

This bird deterrent won't harm the birds feet but will alarm them whenever they try to rest on the ledges. It has a stainless steel and polycarbonate material that is built to last and doesn't brittle in age. It's very flexible and light enough to carry around for installation. Though the spike is made of stainless steel, like other Bird Barrier Bird Flite Spikes, this product literally disappears from a distance. This is an easy to install bird deterrent and you can easily store other spikes that are not in use in a small space.

This type of Bird Flite - Bird Spikes has 1.5 inches space on the center and it is effective in repelling large birds that tries to rest and leave mess on your building. This stays glued or screwed on any area for a long time. It is offered in one foot lengths, which can still be broken into smaller sections to suit any kind of building or space configuration. It's simple to put in, but it must have the proper spacing before setting it permanently. The tip of the spike must be extended past the edge of the ledge by atleast half an inch. When you want to install it in rows, the tips can have 2 inch gap from each other. If you will install the product on a ledge with a backwall, the 2 inch gap is also acceptable to follow. The product is best to install using the Bird Barrier Bond to avoid any additional screw hole requirements on your preferred area. The bond is a clear, UV stabilized adhesive that attaches to any surfaces perfectly and any temperature change won't affect or impact the bond.

Q
Can Bird Barrier Bird Flite Xtra Wide 8 in. Spikes be placed on a lawn?

I really want to use them as a barrier from preventing my neighborhood dogs from urinating along the street edge of my lawn

A

The Bird Barrier Bird Flite Xtra Wide 8 in. Spikes are to be put on architectural ledges, chimneys, pipes, signs, street lights, small equipment, steel beams, roof peaks and even on boats.  The base of the spikes need to be attached to something either with screws or adhesive.

For keeping pets from urinating in your lawn it is more about learned behavior for the owner to break or you can try repellents but they can be hit or miss for animals that already have a smell in the area.
