Product Overview

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate uses a combination of active ingredients to provide pre- and post-emergent control of sedges, crabgrass, annual and broadleaf weeds. Safe on Southern and Northern lawns (warm and cool season grasses) Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate is an excellent choice fro residential lawns. Prodiamine provides pre-emergent control while sulfentrazone provides post-emergent control. One pint will treat from 2,000 to 8,700 sq. ft.

Starts working on contact and is rainproof, won't wash away. It kills the toughest of weeds, down to the root, and not the lawn.

Turf Use Instructions

This is a selective pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide for control of crabgrass, annual grass and broadleaf weeds and sedges in residential lawns. This is a flowable formulation (suspension concentrate) containing 0.4 lbs. of active ingredient per gallon. The mode of action of this product involves uptake by both weed roots and shoots of existing weeds and prevention of growth by newly emerged weed seedlings.

This can be applied using a hand trigger sprayer, pump-up sprayer or hose-end sprayer. See Table 1 for specific use instructions for either cool or warm-season turfgrass varieties. For pre-emergence applications, spray recommended rate evenly over entire lawn. For postemergence applications, spray weeds directly until well covered. Do not over-apply as this may cause undesirable turf injury.

For pump-up sprayers mix recommended amount of fluid ounces in Table 1 according to desired turfgrass type in 1 GALLON of water per 1,000 sq. ft. covered.

Mix and apply only the amount of product needed to cover desired area. Do not store mixed product.

    Effective on yellow sedge

    By Snowcat14 on 08/05/2014

    Verified Purchase

Killed most all the sedge with the first treatment. Applied amount as directed. I applied a second treatment recently to knock out any remaining sedge. Price is much more reasonable than SedgeHammer, especially when you need gallons of it. Also, only spray sedge with this when it is hot out. If it is not hot, it is not effective and you will waste your money. During spring or fall cool down one should apply RoundUp with a surfactant, in my opinion.

    sedge ender

    By Bob on 04/22/2014

Sprayed it on weeds down here in South West Fl, around all the shrubs and trees. Took about a week and the weeds are melting away. Also works well around the sprinkler heads in the irrigation system.

    Bonide Sedge Ender

    By Dale on 06/01/2016

Works Great. I mixed it with water into a spray bottle and applied directly on yellow sedge. Works after several applications sedge / weeds. Does no harm to grass.

    Bonide Sedge Ender

    By Al on 08/16/2015

Tried this on recommendation of Mike Miller who is on KMOX radio in St. Louis. Very pleased on how well this product knocked down the sedge. Gave my neighbor a tank full of this product and he had equal results. I would recommend this product to people fighting the sedge which is particularly bad in St. Louis this year.

Sending this review is a pain in the neck

    By J on 07/15/2016

This stuff worked like magic. I need a good sprayer though which would have given me a better outcome.

Q
How long does the pre-emergent last in Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate?
A

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate contains both a pre-emergent herbicide (Prodiamine) and a post-emergent herbicide (Sulfentrazone). Post-emergent would need to be reapplied if you have renewed weed growth. The pre-emergent will last up to 60-90 days depending on the rate used and rainfall in your area. Per the product label: In areas of extended growing season and heavy pressure weed control will be enhanced by second application of this product 60-90 days after initial application. Be sure to follow the label directions for rates depending on the type of turfgrass you have.

Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within three to six (3-6) months after application of Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate could inhibit the establishment of desirable grasses. Please refer to the Seeding Chart located on page 10 of the product label for seeding interval time frames.

Q
Is Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate labeled to treat dallisgrass?
A

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate is not labeled to treat dallisgrass. Unfortunately there is a not a good selective product that you can use to get rid of the dallisgrass without killing the surrounding grass, too. Your best options once it has emerged is to either spot spray or wipe on something like Round Up, or hand dig up the clumps of dallisgrass down to the root system and re-seed with the fescue.  You could use a pre-emergent such as Dimension 2EW in the Spring and Fall to help prevent it from ever growing.
