Product Overview

The BotaniGard ES Emulsifiable Suspension Mycoinsecticide liquid is mainly used to control the most troublesome aphids, thrips, whitefly and other soft bodies' insects in field crops and greenhouses. BotaniGard ES formulation has live spores from the fungus that is naturally occurring in the Beauveria bassiana Strain GHA, the active ingredient, and with a higher spore concentration helps in controlling the pests from permanently damaging crops. When properly applied, the products insect control can exceed many other chemical insecticides.

The products mode of action is not the typical MOA, the applied spores will directly infect through the outside of the insect's skin. It will then germinate and produce enzymes that dissolve the cuticle eventually penetrating the skin of the pest and grow inside. A visible indication of insect death is the discoloration of the pupae or larvae. Product comes in a liquid form and is registered for use in the USA. The BotaniGard ES Mycoinsecticide has an excellent crop safety profile with a big and diverse crop list and different use sites.

We have been using 1oz per gallon and it doesn't seem to work.

Q
Will BotaniGard ES Emulsifiable Suspension Mycoinsecticide kill Asian jumping worms? If not than what will?
A

BotaniGard ES Emulsifiable Suspension Mycoinsecticide is not specifically labeled for Asian jumping worms. According to this article by the Cornell Cooperative Extension office, Diatamaceous Earth may help with adult jumping worms. This would be incorporated into the soil at the depth of the worms.

We recommend consulting with your local cooperative extension office for alternate options to fit your needs.
