Criterion is not labeled for use on hibiscus. We recommend using Bonide Systemic Insect Control. Using a Systemic can take several weeks to trans-locate through trees. The exact amount of time depends on the species of tree, the size of the tree, how much water the tree is getting and of course the health of the tree. It is recommended that while you are waiting for the systemic product to trans-locate that you use a different product for an immediate kill of the pest insects such as Horticultural oil, Insecticidal soap or Talstar P. Systemic products last for 3-4 months in most cases.
