Can onslaught fast cap be mixed with peanut butter to kill wasps?

I'm looking to use onslaught fast cap as a bait for wasps, and I've heard of it being used with chicken or cat food, but it seems like peanut butter would be a longer lasting option as long as it was put where no one with a peanut allergy could reach it.

Answer:

The Onslaught is often used mixed with foods when baiting for wasps/yellow jackets, however the foods that are recommended you use (chicken, wet cat food, tuna) are suggested because those are foods some wasps are known to be attracted to. You may want to try putting the peanut butter out by itself first to see if the wasps are attracted to it regularly, as if they do not go to it then your efforts in using it with Onslaught would be wasted. Peanut butter typically would be too sticky which is why it is not normally used. Also, if your wasps are not scavengers and are nectar feeding only, then the baiting will not work either. Try putting a plate outside the home with a variety of foods and juices on it to see if they go to it to determine both if the ones in your area are scavengers and if there is one food they go to over another.
