Martins Permethrin 10% does not list applications to ornamentals for Japanese beetles on the product label so we would not recommend it.  We would recommend Talstar P.  It is a insecticide that is labeled for lawn and ornamentals and is safe for plants, bushes, shrubs and trees.  You can also apply it inside and outside your home for insects that try to enter the house.  Talstar P is known for being super gentle on plants but care should still be taken to avoid contact with blooms.
