Will the Riptide in the Fogmaster Micro Jet be suitable means to control a large lawn that includes trees,foliage & a 50' x 100' pond of mosquito & horse Flies? How long will the treatment last?
The Fogmaster Micro Jet ULV Fogger can accomadate large areas for mosquito and fly control. The Riptide is one of our top fogging solutions for mosquitoes and other flying insects, but there is not a residual with this product, as with most water based fogging concentrates. It is a contact kill knock down product. Once the surfaces that have been fogged with the Riptide have dried, the product is gone and does not provide you with long term control. For a more long term control, you could try a spray like our Talstar P rather than a fog and use this in something like a backpack pump sprayer, or a motorized backpack like the Solo 451 and treat all the surrounding foliage, trees and ornamentals to control the mosquitoes and flies where they breed. For added control, you could mix NyGuard IGR- which is insect birth control-into the mixture with the Talstar and spray them together. If you plan to treat extremely close to the pond and have aquatic life you are worried about endangering, you could use Essentria IC3 instead of Talstar.
