Q&A Home

Pam from Henryville, In writes,

Can vegetables be washed of Sevin to be eaten safely before PHI?

My husband sprayed our green beans and corn with Sevin and they are both ready now to pick. My husbands suggests I pick it anyway and just wash it off. Is this safe?

Sevin Concentrate is not labeled to be applied to green beans so any that were sprayed with the product would need to be disposed of.  For corn you should not harvest for 2 days after an application per the product label, then you can harvest the corn and wash it off safely.  Consuming before the PHI directed on the product label would not be recommended to be safe.
