Can you make a portable power source for the spot sprayer?

The battery on our lawn tractor doesn't get enough charge while providing power to the spot sprayer pump. Is there a way to install a standalone battery to power the sprayer for about two hours?

Answer:

You can certainly use an external power source for the pump sprayer to keep from draining the power to your lawn tractor. You could use any universal 12 volt battery to connect the pump to and just recharge it as needed when done. You also may want to look at replacing the battery in your lawn tractor if it is older as the sprayer shouldn't be pulling so much power as to hinder the function of the tractor. It usually uses only 4 amps at max at any time but will run on average around 2 amps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
