This stuff is amazing! I did not think it was working initially. I sprinkled it around the base of two trees where I saw the ants. The two trees are on either side of my deck about 50' apart. The trail of ants across the patio and under my deck at times was busy. I looked at the bark of both trees and saw a lot of activity going up and down both trees. I used Maxforce on the bark and sprinkle Advance around the base. Within a few days, I saw dead ants at the base of both trees. The amazing part was a nest was in my third detached garage. I was getting something and noticed a lot of dead flies, I thought. After closer examination, they were ants, hundreds of them. Some were dead, others writhing and dying. They were eating the wood foundation of one side of the garage. I am confident now your Advance bait is effective!! It smells awful in the container but the ants grab it is as soon as I sprinkle some on the ground. Does not seem as effective with red ants. They grab it and take off but I have not seen a lot of dead red ants. I use the Advance bait regularly, the gel worked too but the Advance bait was impressive!

I bought this product to take care of a carpenter ant nest I noticed had taken root in my back patio after they failed to respond to regular Amdro that I use to kill fire ants. Both baits were immediately taken by the ants but the gel is arguably less convenient because it tends to dry out after a few hours and they lose interest. After about 3 days I started noticing a HUGE pile-up of dead ants which continued for a few more days. I made a smaller, second application after a week because I saw a handful of half-dead random ants still living (99% reduction in visible ant population) but it might not have been truly necessary. I highly recommend this product for specifically carpenter ants. I don't know why they don't act interested in the general purpose ant baits I have tried.

I still have ants coming into the ceiling...recommendation from company was to put both products on paper plate and tape to ceiling. After climbing up ladder..the plate fell and stuff fell in my face...granules are too hard for ceiling. The gel had very little in container for the cost...gave out before I got to cover area. Products they say only works for 2 weeks...would be nice for ants to find it faster and take to queen! I used granules last year alone...did not work.

Definite reduction in ant numbers seen. Unable to access nest in roof eaves so still combating infestation

I used this for the first time and it worked wonders.Years back I had them in the house and got rid of them with a battle.When I seen them this year in my 2 trees in the back I knew I had to act and fast before then invaded the house.In a little over 5 days this product did it's job.

It just did not work.  I plugged holes, I followed directions to no avail.  I feel like a piece of food that has been moved into the deepest part of the nest.

Some ants go for the gel, some go for the granula and some ignore both. I've used other max force gel on little ants and they devoured the stuff. I had high expectations. Little ants will go for the granules and the gel as well.

Carpenter ants of two different varieties had invaded the carport and the guest house. One treatment of each the Advance granules and the Max Force Gel have eliminated 90% of the ants. I applied the granules along the ant trails and the gel to the openings on the outside of the house where I saw the ants coming and going. In less than a week the ants were gone. Today, two weeks later, I saw two ants so I am sure I will have to reapply at some future date. Extremely pleased with both products which were received in a timely manner. I have recommended this product to family members and friends.

I got the Advance/Maxforce ant kit. I bought this because we have ants on a tree in our yard. I put this out and the first day the ants were carrying the bait to their nests. I put more out a couple of days later and they didn't touch it. The bait is gone in a couple of days but I still have ants. Not as many, but I still have some. It has only been two weeks but reading other reviews I thought it would have been just a few days. I am still putting out some bait as it disappears.

When I saw the ants streaming into my roof area, carrying eggs I ordered Advance Carpenter Ant Bait (in kit #1). I've used it before with success. I had some of the old Bait left which was now many years old and had become moldy but I used it hoping it would still work until I got my new order. Well, the ants were gone by the time I got the order so I'm saving the new stuff for next time. Hard to believe it still worked!

This product was amazing. Literally thousands of dead carpenter ants in five days. Well worth the price. I never write reviews, but this product deserves recognition!

I had a fairly bad carpenter ant infestation in my attic, where there had been a water leak, per the amount of frass. I made my own ant traps from pudding cups, and put out several each of the gel and powder. After 10 days, I saw a lot of dead ants, but still some live ones; but after another week there were no live ants. I used only a fraction of the kit.

The product works, they take it back to the nest and the foragers stop coming out.Within a day you see results.The ones here have a nest in a back wall

I have used this stuff before after hearing about it from my brother in law. Sometimes the ants go for the granules, sometimes the gel. This time it was the gel. I had carpenter ants crawling around my front porch, and I knew when I bought the house last fall that there had been some then so I wasn't surprised. (There are some areas where the trim needs replacement due to water damage and that is a magnet for carpenter ants). Anyhow, I put a few granules then a dollop of gel on the floor near a foraging ant. within minutes several had arrived, picked up the granules and put them back down but glued themselves to the sweet stuff. After putting a number of stripes of the gel around the porch I walked around the perimeter of the house and tagged the crevices. By the time I came back most of the porch dollops had at least 3 ants eating from it. Within two days there were no ants anywhere to be seen. Way cheaper than an exterminator and far more effective!!!

I applied the stuff 3 days ago ,as it was described. Ants started to slow down and die the second day. Hopefully they fitted the queen. On the third day I saw just 1 or 2 and they were slow. So far I am satisfied with the results. Hopefully it killed the colony! I will let you know in a week the final results.

I applied the gel at the ants' point of entry and watched them for about an hour. Several ants went to the gel and drank from it like a trough! The rest continued to wander aimlessly. I accidently covered the hole they had been using, so I worried that they wouldn't carry the product back to the colony. I went to bed and when I returned, VOILA! No more ants! Just several dead ones on my kitchen counter. It's been over a week and no sign of them. I also sprinkled the granules around the perimeter of my home. There is a reduction in the number of ants, but yesterday I found one trail of scout ants going in. I'll try some gel at that point of entry and I'm sure that will spell their doom.

I bought the kit and it arrived but I was busy and set it downstairs unopened on my desk for 4-5 days. One morning upon awakening in the am there were hundreds of dead or dying ants all over my house. The live ones were doing strange things like walking in circles, or sitting in one spot for hours, or carrying eggs across my living room floor and dropping them there. It was the craziest thing I ever saw. I vacuumed them up all that day, and more dead ants and more eggs just kept appearing. 3 days later there wasn't one single ant to be seen anywhere in my house, when previously we were seeing 20-30 per day. Did they get into the kit? Who knows? When I finally opened it, the Maxforce liquid box was open and some gel had leaked out of the tube. I suspect they got into it and poisoned themselves without my even setting out the kit! I did set out the bait stations, but at this point there are no more ants to eat it!

After spending $200 bucks with an exterminator that did not use the right stuff to solve the problem, I bought this kit and solved my carpenter ant problem myself. I highly recommend this kit - it works.

Two applications and the bulk of our ants are history. We still find the occasional few dead ones here and there which tells me the product is still doing its job.

Our problem was carpenter ants in the polystyrene insulated vaulted ceiling. Every day there were piles of fine insulation on the countertops. Terro has worked for our other ant problems, but not this. I bought the kit so I would have both types of bait. I didn't need to wait 3 days; in less than 24 hours there were ant bodies dropping down along with the insulation. I was amazed! I used such a small amount of bait; I've got plenty left if they make a comeback. I'm very pleased that I didn't need an exterminator company.

Awesome product! Truly the best money i have spent on any ant killer, including paying the professionals. I got tired of going to the big box stores and wasting money on there choice of produce to still see the little wood chewing bastards walking around. Within minuets the carpenter ants were carrying these little crumbs of death back to feed all there jerk friends! The only thing that i would recommend is that you design a product that will make the ants burst in to flames when they touch it! Thank you, I am impressed!

Had Terminix treat a carpenter ant infestation. Killed dozens of ants,but after 4 days ants were active again. Then I used carpenter ant kit, 4 trays. The ants immediately fed for several days on the Maxforce. I rebaited the trays roughly 3 times before I could see bait was no longer being consumed. Swept up dozens of dead ants off the floor for days. Dead ants are now less frequent and I see only occasional ant (1 week from start of treatment). The Maxforce product works and the bait trays are good way to put the product out. I plan to monitor weekly and rebait if any ants return.

I think the kit worked well, we put it out all over our house where we had seen carpenter ants before we left for a long weekend vacation and when we came back, there were tons of dead ants and a few slowly crawling around on the floor. Hopefully the worker ants took the bait back to the queen and we wont have to reapply the bait if larva hatch but I guess we will just have to wait and see. Overall, much better than the hundreds of dollars the pest control company was going to charge.
