The Carpenter Bee Kit with Cyper WP provides a complete carpenter bee control solution for your home. The D-Fense Dust with the B&G Bulb Duster allows you to dust in existing carpenter bee holes, while the included 20 x 3/8 inch plastic plugs can be used to stop up the holes. In addition, the Cyper WP will make 24-48 gallons of finished insecticide solution which can be sprayed on target surfaces to prevent further infestation. Please note that the Cyper WP will leave a filmy visible residue that can be seen on darker wood surfaces. Cyper WP must be applied with a 1 or 2 gallon pressurized sprayer. Look here for more sprayers.
Difference between this kit and the Carpenter Bee Control Kit (with FenvaStar EcoCap) and the Carpenter Bee Kit with Cyonara: FenvaStar EcoCap can be shipped to New York - Cyonara 9.7 and Cyper WP cannot. Both FenvaStar and Cyonara leave no visible residue on your home, whereas Cyper WP can leave a filmy or powdery residue that is visible on dark wood. The benefit of Cyper WP is that you get more for your money--about 30 to 40 gallons of insecticide versus only about 20 gallons with Cyonara and 8 gallons with FenvaStar.

Cyper WP insecticide is a loose white powder that is mixed with water. It can be applied as a crack and crevice and/or spot treatment for residual and contact control of carpenter bees as well as many other insects. Add 2 scoops of product to one gallon of water ina hand pump sprayer. Application to nests should be made in late evening when insects are at rest. Thoroughly treat nest and entrance, surfaces and surrounding areas where these insects alight. Cyper WP may leave a slight powdery residue on that will be visible on dark surfaces. Residual effects lasts up to 3 months.
D-Fense Dust is an excellent way to get insecticide where you need it. This product contains the active ingredient Deltamethrin, is waterproof and offers up to eight months of residual activity. Using the included duster, apply dust directly to carpenter bee entry holes before plugging.
The B&G Bulb Duster is an excellent tool for applying the dust. An included extension with a curved tip allows you to get the dust exactly where you need it.
The Trebor 3/8 inch plugs are just the right size to plug existing carpenter bee holes. 20 plugs are included with this kit.

It works
By James on April 11, 2011
Verified PurchaseThis stuff works! I poofed a little dust in every bee hole I could find in my tractor shed, then mixed up a gallon of the Cyper WP and sprayed the timbers. The next day I had dead or dying bees on the ground below the timbers. The bees were covered in dust. It has been two weeks and I haven't seen any more bees flying or crawling on the timbers. If I see more in the future, they are gonna get poofed!

Carpenter Bee Kit with Cyper WP
By Bob on July 23, 2011
Verified PurchaseThis stuff really works. Had a bad infestation of bees in my deck facia board. Sprayed the powdered insecticide into the holes using the long extension nozzle then plugged the holes with the plastic 3/8" round buttons. Mixed up a MP solution and sprayed the entire facia board. No more evidence of bees at all. First time in two years.

Carpenter Bees in deck
By Tina on March 31, 2012Cyper WP works great on all insects and deters the bees from drilling new holes. After a few weeks of dusting holes and spraying, the number of bees has gone down substantially, but still fighting off a few. The kit is very easy to use and luckily these bees aren't aggressive. If wasps come around looking to nest, they leave quickly and once all bees are gone we'll be able to enjoy our decks bug free. I have cancelled my quarterly pest control, you can definitely do this yourself!

Carpenter Bee Kit
By Mel on April 11, 2012Kit easy to use. Very fast shipping. There are still bees flying around like crazy, so I don't know if it just killed the one's inside. Will have to wait a while longer to see if it did the trick. All other products from DMOPC have been great, so I expect same results here.

April 6, 2011Mark asked:
QIs the residue left behind on surfaces from Cyper WP and Delta dust dangerous for kids to touch?
Is the film/residue left behind safe for kids to touch, regarding a concern for ingestion, unintended transference to food, skin, eyes, clothes and so on?
How long before surfaces can be safely touched after treatment?
Aside from carpenter bees, are the treatments effective on other bees, insects, hornets, ants, beetles, spiders, midges, etc?
AAfter the products have been applied according to the product label and liquids have dried, there should be no problem with anyone touching the treated surfaces. That being said, most of the surfaces being treated for carpenter bees are not frequently touched by anyone including children (over hangs, eaves, undersides of railings, siding..). Both the Cyper WP and the Delta dust included in the carpenter bee kit are labeled for many insects, not just carpenter bees and will do a great job for general pest control issues.
April 22, 2012Mark from Washington, Nj asked:
QHave a carpenter bee problem on my siding - Cyper, Cynoff, Demon, etc. which is the best choice?
A Demon WP, Cynoff WP and Cyper WP are all pretty much the same product though each brand is made by a different manufacturer. These products all contain cypermethrin which is known to do a great job eliminating carpenter bees. We currently offer Cyper WP in our carpenter bee kit because it is the most economical choice. Our carpenter bee kit contains D-Fense dust to dust the existing holes and kill the bee larvae, a Centro Bulb duster to apply the D-Fense dust, Trebor plugs to block the holes so new insects can't move in later and Cyper WP to apply topically to eliminate existing bees and stop new bees and other insects from invading your home.
April 25, 2011Deb asked:
QIs this safe for animals? Spray has a tendency to drift downwards.
The area being invaded by carpenter bees has our hay in it for the horses and goats and the cats sleep in there.
ACyper WP is safe for animals to be around after it has been applied and has had time to dry. However it is very important that Cyper WP be kept off of the hay if it is used as a food source for the animals. You can do this by covering the hay with tarps while you are applying the Cyper WP. An alternative would be to use a product such as Cyonara 9.7 which is labeled to be applied with a paint brush. Painting an insecticide onto a surface will prevent any issues with "drift". Cyonara 9.7 is included in our other Carpenter Bee Kit with Cyonara 9.7.

The Delta Dust with the Centrobulb duster allows you to dust in existing carpenter bee holes, while the included 20 x 3/8 inch plastic plugs can be used to stop up the holes.
