Good product - better than expected

    By Reybo on 04/25/2010

    Verified Purchase

Bought this to rid our house of carpenter bees. They drilled holes in it for 40+ years. Year after year I spent more than $100 on spray insecticides, and 50 hours and more each year on patrol, but all I did was dent the population. I couldn't wipe them out. In April 2010, I declared total war on carpenter bees and amassed my troops: 36 cans of Bonide Wasp and Hornet Killer and 2 cans of CB Borid Turpo. And all the hours extermination might require, a benefit of being retired. After applying wasp spray to every bee in range for three days morning-noon-night, there were none to be seen flying. At that point I got the ladder and sprayed CB into the holes as instructed. Took an estimated 1/2 can, so two cans is more than we needed. Where we used to see 20 or more bees a day we have seen zero in the last week. Wow. In early June we will apply a second (perhaps unnecessary) dose of CB in the holes before we hammer in wooden plugs. We bought those plugs in 1985 but knew it would be counter-productive to use them until the larvae was neutralized. We trust that CB Borid Turbo has done that.

    Generally satisfactory

    By Neal on 05/16/2010

The plastic tubes did not fit, or at least I couldn't get them to insert into the opening, so I used the tube from last year's can. Also, the can quit spraying before all of the insecticide seemed to be used up. Same thing happened last year.

Q
Will CB Borid Turbo work for bed bugs?
A

CB Borid Turbo is not labeled for bed bugs.  Boric acid will not work for bedbugs because it has to be ingested to kill the insect. Bedbugs have sucking, piercing mouth-parts which do not allow them to ingest the powder. Other dust insecticides such as Alpine Dust or Tempo Dust work from the outside and will kill bedbugs. Please see our bed bug guide to see these and other products that are recommended to be used to get rid of bedbugs.
