FMC Pyrethrin Fogger

FMC Pyrethrin Fogger previously known as CB PCO Total Release Fogger with Pyrethrins effectively removes all cockroaches, fleas, ticks, houseflies, mosquitoes, moths, wasps, crickets, or silverfish within the confines of the fumigated area. This product contains natural based pyrethrins making it ideal for use in sensitive areas such as homes, schools and hospitals. Pyrethrins are naturally derived pesticides (derived from the Chrysanthemum flower) that work by attacking the central nervous systems of bothersome pests on contact, causing death.

Foggers are oil based and can leave behind an oily residue in some instances.

1 of 5 stars  CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins
By Robert in Bakersfield, CA on 03/22/2011

Absolutely USELESS!! Frankly, I'm not sure why but there are more roaches now than before the "bombs" were set off. This building is less than 600 sq. ft. I set one in the front half, and one in the rear half. I found a total of 5 dead roaches on the floor and kitchen counter. 6 days later, they are still everywhere, LIVE!! I am giving this one star. Unfortunately, you haven't provided for a NEGATIVE rating. I would NOT recommend this to my ex-wife!!!

    Expert Response   Expert response:
You have to realize that a fogger only goes straight up into the air out of the can, and then falls straight down.  It will only kill roaches that are out in the open.  Foggers do not make it into the wall voids where the roaches hide, or under or inside appliances.  You should apply roach bait and other residual products like what is in our roach control kits.

5 of 5 stars  Success with CB PCO Fogger
By Roy in Post Falls, ID on 08/20/2010
    Verified Purchase

Our garage was full of moths that came home in two sacks of bird seed. I ordered two cans of CB PCO fogger with pyrethrins and used one can. It eliminated 99% of the moths. The moth traps have caught a few, too. I might not need the second can of spray as I am not seeing more moths flying. This is a very effective product. I would buy more of this if it were needed.

5 of 5 stars  Worked on Yellow Jackets
By Bob in CO on 10/23/2010

I tapped this fogger to the end of a broom stick, popped the tab, and stuck it right at the entrance to the yellow jacket nest. Sprayed for about 2-3 minutes straight. Doesn't really knock them out of the air, but it did work. Yellow Jackets died over the next 2 weeks straight. Now totally gone.

By Nee in Chicago, Il on 12/31/2016

I had the most challenging time trying to rid our environment of bed bugs. Pesky, experienced bed bugs. I say experience, because my daughter brought them to my home visiting her boyfriend's house who can't seem to get rid of them. They were of various sizes, including adults. I got this product and this finally rid my home of the challenging crittters!

5 of 5 stars  Killing yellow jackets
By Richard in Lansing on 09/16/2016

Fast shipping, good price and very effective. I had a yellow jacket nest in the ground next to my house. They had to go. I purchased the product and at dusk I taped it to a two by four depressed the button and placed the fogger over the entrance to the nest. Next day there were only a few stragglers left. They probably came back to the nest when i was fogging it, but did not go in. I am very happy with effectiveness of the product.

QWill this fogger kill moths?
Moths have been feasting on my favorite wool sweaters, hanging in my closet

A

The CB Pco Fogger will kill adult moths that are exposed at the time of the fogging but the fog will not be able to penetrate into the folds of the clothing to kill the larva that is actually causing the damage to your sweaters (the adult moths do not feed, the moth larva is what is causing damage to your sweaters. Please read our article How to get Rid of Clothes Moths to learn how to get rid of this damaging pest.

QWill the CB PCO Fogger kill fleas?
I'm having a very bad flea infestation at the moment. I tried using Advantage and another flea killer product on my cat and the fleas still have not disappeared. I'm looking for something more permanent and lethal to make sure the fleas don't ever come again. I do believe that once the fleas are killed they won't ever come again because the general area we live in is really not flea heavy, I just believe I went to someone else's place who had fleas in the house, and I just happened to pick one of them up from sitting on there couch or their dog that hasn't been treated by flea medicine. Will the CB PCO Fogger kill these fleas once and for all?

A

Foggers work very well to get rid of the adult fleas that are exposed at the time of the treatment but will not effect the adult fleas that are hidden away at the time of the treatment or the flea eggs or larvae. Most infestations require two or even three treatments of a product that contains a long lasting residual and an insect growth regulator such as Ultracide. Treatments should be applied at two week intervals. Vacuuming immediately before the application and daily vacuuming will be vital to successful flea control. Be sure to dispose of the vacuum contents in a sealed bag away from your home.

QWill CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins kill spiders?
If not, what will??

AYes CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins will kill spiders, but only the spiders that are exposed at the time the fogger is released. We recommend using Cyper WP for spider control. Cypermethrin, the active ingredient in Cyper WP, is known to be one of the most effective active ingredients for spiders and other hard to kill insects. Spray directly into cracks and crevices, under appliances, around door frames and window frames and in places where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. We have recently added a spider control kit to our website that includes Cyper WP, Cobweb Eliminator and glue boards. Using Cobweb eliminator will help discourage spiders from forming webs on the surfaces that have been sprayed and the glue boards will help trap wandering spiders and help monitor problem areas.

Qwill the CB PCCO fogger kill bird mites

A: CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins is not labeled to treat mites. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

QHow often should the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger be used?
Specifically in an attic and a crawl space.

A

The†FMC Pyrethrin Fogger is only a contact kill that kills insects exposed at the time of treatment, so how often it is used will depend on the target pest and pest pressure for your specific needs. If you would like to tell us more about your specific needs, then we would be happy to offer more specific advice.

QWould it be safe to use the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger up a chimney?
I have wasps that come down through it.

A

We would not reccomend using the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger in a chimney application. Unfortunately, we do not have a recommendation for that type of application. You would not want to put chemicals in a chimney that at some point you would be lighting a fire into. However, with that said possibly lighting a fire would get them out of the area.†

QIs the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger effective on cluster flies?
I have cluster flies in the voids in my walls and need to know if this fogger would kill over-wintering flies.

A

Foggers such as the FMC Pyrethrin Fogger will only kill insects exposed to the product at the time that you use it. While the active ingredient would certainly kill flies and other insects that are contacted, you likely would not see a significant reduction in the flies. To combat overwintering pests such as cluster flies, you should look for ways to exclude these pests and†treat with insecticides like those in our Overwintering Pest Kit in the late Summer and Fall to keep pests out. Fly light traps can be very effective in catching cluster flies that do make it indoors. Please review our article How to Get Rid of Cluster Flies for more tips and information.

QWill FMC Pyrethrin Fogger kill scabies?

A

FMC Pyrethrin Fogger is not labeled to kill scabies. Using a fogger would not be an appropriate treatment for this pest. You should consult a medical professional for topical treatment. You can†clean the environment by vacuuming and washing and drying clothing and linens. You could use a contact kill product such as Steri-Fab to treat furniture and flooring, although this is generally not necessary.

QWill CB PCO Total Release Fogger with Pyrethrins work for black pepper mites?

ACB PCO Total Release Fogger with Pyrethrins is not specifically labeled for black pepper mites. We think the very first thing you should do is get the mites properly identified. Failure to get a proper identification can lead to treatment failure. Many people read on the internet certain descriptions and just assume that they have the same exact problem as the person that wrote the description, but they could very possibly be wrong. You should contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the entomologist on staff. The entomologist will explain how to properly obtain a sample and submit it for identification. You can also contact your local natural history museum for an identification if you don't have luck with the extension office. Once you get a proper identification you will be able to know what type of source you are looking for (foul, bird or rodent mites) and you can start proper treatments.

QAttic usage in freezing weather?
Moving into a house at the beginning of this cold snap and bought 4 of these to set off in the attic (2 at a time), because of flies due to a gaping gable vent. Will these operate sufficiently in cold weather? We have snow flakes and brisk winds in Indiana for another couple weeks.

QClothes moth infestation
We have an ongoing clothes moth infestation in my building (4 apartments). Each year as the temps rise they keep coming back, by the hundreds. They mostly fly around in the hallway, where we think they have their nest behind the walls, or underneath the roof space. The landlord hires inefficient cheap workers who come out and spray in the hallway (on the floor) with absolutely no result. Would a fogger like the CB PCO be able to get to their nest - which had not been located - but we assume it to be somewhere behind the walls?

AThe CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins would only kill what is out, exposed, and flying around at the time the fogger was activated. Unfortunately, the CB PCO Fogger wouldn't be able to kill anything that is back behind the wall or in inaccessible areas such as cracks or crevices. We would recommend you use the ProPest Pheronet Clothes Moth Traps. These traps will lure and kill webbing cloth moths, the most common type of clothes moth. This product is best used in conjunction with a crack and crevice aerosol to treat under and around baseboards and door frames in the infested area.  We recommend D-Force HPX Aerosol to treat these areas.
