The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Poly Sprayer 21220XP is part of a superior line of consumer sprayers designed to rival those used by the pros. The Premier features Chapin’s patented SureSpray Anti-Clog Filter, a large 4” opening for easy filling and cleaning, translucent bottle for ease in checking fluid level, an auto/manual high pressure relief valve, and an adjustable cone nozzle.
The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Poly Sprayer 21220 has now been upgraded to the 21220XP. The XP stands for Extended Performance. Chapin has redesigned the pump to use a plunger cup (like what is found in industrial concrete sprayers) instead of an o-ring. The plunger cup is a more reliable part as it will not slip off as o-rings sometimes have a tendency to do.
There are new replacement parts for the new XP models. These parts are not interchangeable. Replacement parts for the original models will not fit the new XP models and vice versa.

A great sprayer!
By Nick on October 9, 2008This Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer is a great sprayer, works, very well. The pump is easy to use and stores enough pressure to do work without always stopping. The plastic is solid and sturdy, and the handle is easy to use. I had to fill it 1.5 times to be able to apply liquid pesticide around my house. I'm glad that I got the 2-gallon version, so I don't have to stop and refill as much. I highly recommend it.

Very nice sprayer with some quirks
By William on June 30, 2010

I like the heavy duty design, the thick walled container, thick walled screw on top, and metal charging handle. There are only two concerns that I have with this sprayer. First, for my purposes it needed to be bundled with a adjustable fan tip. I have ordered the Chapin Brass Fan Spray Nozzle P/N 3-6001. I hope that it does the job. The other concern is that whatever drops on to the top while working, especially liquids, get injected via the pump into the mixture inside the container when the user pumps the pump. In other words, when I'm working under my house my gloved hands get very dirty. When I reach to pump the sprayer, the dirt on my hand mixed with the sweat and spray falls onto the top of the sprayer. The problem this caused is that the dirt around the O ring in the pump allowed the pressurization to escape through the pump. I.E. the sprayer wouldn't hold a pressurization charge. I had to completely clean the sprayer, re-grease the pump, refill the sprayer, and then it would hold a charge. So, just be very careful when using this sprayer in a dirty environment and try to keep the top as clean as possible. If it does get dirty, you can rinse off the top prior to pumping and that should keep the dirt out. However, if the dirt gets into the pump, you'll have to clean the top and the pump in order to get the pressurization to work again. Overall, this sprayer is very nice and I would recommend it to all.

Chapin Premier 2 Gal Sprayer 21220
By Ronald on April 14, 2010

This is by far one of the best sprayers on the market. I own two of them, one for weed killing, one for pesticides, etc. When compared to the ones you can purchase at building supply stores it is far superior.

Great Product, Great Company
By Sam on July 14, 2010

This is a premium product, made by a great company with exceptional customer support. I somehow lost the siphon tube when I was assembling the product. I made a call to DoMyOwnPestControl's 800 number, they didn't have the part so they gave me Chapin's number. They figured out what I needed and shipped it right to me. Both companies were extremely courteous and pleasant and the first person to answer the phone was able to help me.

Excellent Sprayer
By Mike on January 22, 2011I purchased the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon sprayer last August and have used it countless times since and it GREAT. I used to go down to hardware stores or building supply stores and purchase sprayers, but the problem was after using it a few times, something on the sprayer would break like the handle, spray tip, hose etc. Well after buying several sprayers basically I was just throwing my money away so spending a little over $50 dollars for the Chapin sprayer it has paid for itself, I recommend this sprayer, good quality and performance.

A Reasonable Sprayer
By John on May 20, 2013
Verified Purchase
Ordered 1 and 2 Gallon XP sprayers. I like it well enough but there are a couple of issues for me. One is the trigger. It seems to be perfectly set up to pinch my finger on release. Also, the quantity markings on the side of the container are molded in the plastic and are hard to see. I am going to try highlighting them with black marker. The other thing is the cap/pump assembly. The pump handle locks when turning clockwise to tighten. But when you are removing the cap, the handle pops out of the lock position and extends as if to pump. Awkward at best. I had a Hudson that was probably $20-$30 that had better ergonomics than this. This is a heavier duty unit than that one though.

This is by far the best sprayer I"be ever used. I"m glad I'd spent the extra money to get quality. The cheap ones you can buy at big box stores just aren't worth it, this sprayer is far superior.

Wicked good sprayer!!!
By Wayne on September 17, 2012I bought this to apply weed killer and for pest control for my house in Florida. It is everything I expected. Made very well. I also bought the fan spraying nozzle 3-6001 to go with it (a must for fanning ). Very easy to use, pressure last quite a while between pumping and easy to fill. I am very pleased with it, couldn't be happier.

Better than big box sprayers
By Peter on August 23, 2012What sets this sprayer apart for the price is the quality or components. Brass wand sprays well, pump handle metal pressurizes tank quickly.

Light use--lasted one year
By James on August 8, 2012My sprayer never seemed to hold pressure like it should. I was pumping up the pressure more often than usual and things gradually went from not to good to real bad. Now when the pressure is building but still several pumps from being where I want it, I hear a motor boat sound, sort of a puttering sound and the handles shakes. I think it is air escaping from around the top of the pump. It looses pressure to the point that the sprayer is not useable. I'm glad others had good luck with this one but I've been disappointed. I am going to try another brand next time. This is nothing against Domyownpestcontrol, I just received a lemon. I used the sprayer about once or twice a month.

March 15, 2011Tyler asked:
QDoes Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220) fan spray or pin stream spray or both?
AAll of the Chapin sprayers that we sell come with adjustable nozzles that will go from a pin stream to a broader fan type spray.
August 4, 2010Paul asked:
QIs the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer guaranteed? If so, for how long?
AThe Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has a lifetime guarantee on the poly tank only against manufacturing defects. Having said that, the Chapin company has excellent customer service and is always willing to work with our customers to make sure they are satisfied.
October 24, 2010Jonita asked:
QI bought the plastic nozzle that has four spray sizes and it seems to have gotten clogged. How do I unclog?
Also, I noticed that the Timbor powder did not mix well with cold water. Is it necessary to mix it in a separate container before putting it in the sprayer?
AUsually, you can use a toothpick to unclog the nozzle or some other small rod type tool. Also, you can soak the nozzle in hot water to help dislodge anything in the nozzle. As far as the Timbor, you should always mix the Timbor in a separate bucket first and it helps greatly to use warm or hot water. Once dissolved and mixed, you can pour it in your sprayer and use right away. Do not leave the Timbor mixture in your sprayer overnight or it can settle and clog the hose or nozzle.
November 12, 2009Gerald asked:
QDoes a hose hook up to this sprayer?
This is a 2 gallon sprayer. One bottle of Termidor makes 24 gallons. Does a hose hook up to this sprayer? If not, I would have to fill this sprayer 12 times to do 60 lineal feet. Am I correct? If a hose does not hook up to this, I would be better off using a large bucket.
AYou should read our "How To Do a Termite Treatment article". It explains how you as a homeowner should treat your home. It does recommend using a 5 gallon bucket. The Chapin Premier Sprayers do not work using a hose. This sprayer, as all the other sprayers on our site are hand pump sprayers and would need to be filled multiple times to treat a termite trench. Please read the article and feel free to call us with any questions.
September 29, 2010Daniel asked:
QCan you tell by looking at the sprayer how much product you are using? I have a lot of holes to drill.
I need to know how much I am putting in the hole.
AThe sprayer does not have lines that are easy to see because it is a much heavier duty sprayer with a thicker tank that will last longer. There is another way that companies use to fill holes. If you take a gallon milk jug, or a mason jar that is quart size depending on how much liquid you want in each hole, and time how long it takes to fill that container, then that is how long you hold down the trigger to the sprayer for each hole. If you need to put 1/2 gallon in each hole and it takes you 25 seconds to fill up the milk jug half way, then you hold the sprayer over each hole for 25 seconds.
May 13, 2011Heath asked:
QDo I need to purchase a different nozzle for the Chapin Premier 1 gal 21210 sprayer for indoor use?
Would the .1 gpm fan nozzle be better for spraying indoors than the adjustable one included with the sprayer? I will be spraying Suspend SC.
AThe adjustable nozzle that is included with the Chapin Premier 1 gallon sprayer 21210 works very well for both indoor and outdoor use and it is not necessary to replace it with another nozzle.
June 14, 2011J. asked:
QDoes the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer 21220 drip when used at the fine mist or fan setting?
I have an application that requires a fine mist. Most product that produce a fine mist also require high pressure in the ranges of 90psi and above. Will the nozzle on the Premier 2 gallon sprayer provide a very fine mist without the spattering of droplets?
AThe Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer will reach about 40psi. We have not had any complaints from customers that when used at the fine mist setting they had dripping issues.
October 24, 2011Theresa from Foothill Ranch, Ca asked:
QHow small of a hole will the spray go through on the Chapin sprayer?
I will be using this with the Boracare to treat an indoor infestation. I have holes in the wall where the termites have appeared, and I want to know how big a hole I will need to drill to treat the area with this spray nozzle.
AThe sprayer comes with an adjustable nozzle and typically when applying product in the situation you are describing, you would turn the nozzle so it shoots a pin stream from the wand and you can just place the nozzle right up to the hole. You should only have to use a 1/4 of an inch drill bit to accommodate the stream.
June 20, 2012Joe asked:
QWhat is the max distance I can reach with Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220)?
Reaching insect nest in trees.
AIf the sprayer is pumped up as much as possible you may reach distances of 10 ft max. For areas where you may need a great distance reach please consider the Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer. The Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer offers maximum portability and can be used in any container simply by dropping the weighted strainer into the solution and pumping with the slide pump. The sprayer features an 84in heavy duty nylon reinforced chemical resistant hose and a brass adjustable nozzle for fine mist to coarse stream. The brass pump develops pressure up to 150 psi and allows you to reach targets over 30 feet away. You can see the video of this sprayer in use by clicking going to the Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer page on our website.
