The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Poly Sprayer 21220XP is part of a superior line of consumer sprayers designed to rival those used by the pros. The Premier features Chapin’s patented SureSpray Anti-Clog Filter, a large 4” opening for easy filling and cleaning, translucent bottle for ease in checking fluid level, an auto/manual high pressure relief valve, and an adjustable cone nozzle.
The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Poly Sprayer 21220 has now been upgraded to the 21220XP. The XP stands for Extended Performance. Chapin has redesigned the pump to use a plunger cup (like what is found in industrial concrete sprayers) instead of an o-ring. The plunger cup is a more reliable part as it will not slip off as o-rings sometimes have a tendency to do.
There are new replacement parts for the new XP models. These parts are not interchangeable. Replacement parts for the original models will not fit the new XP models and vice versa.

Very nice sprayer with some quirks
By William on 06/30/2010
I like the heavy duty design, the thick walled container, thick walled screw on top, and metal charging handle. There are only two concerns that I have with this sprayer. First, for my purposes it needed to be bundled with a adjustable fan tip. I have ordered the Chapin Brass Fan Spray Nozzle P/N 3-6001. I hope that it does the job. The other concern is that whatever drops on to the top while working, especially liquids, get injected via the pump into the mixture inside the container when the user pumps the pump. In other words, when I'm working under my house my gloved hands get very dirty. When I reach to pump the sprayer, the dirt on my hand mixed with the sweat and spray falls onto the top of the sprayer. The problem this caused is that the dirt around the O ring in the pump allowed the pressurization to escape through the pump. I.E. the sprayer wouldn't hold a pressurization charge. I had to completely clean the sprayer, re-grease the pump, refill the sprayer, and then it would hold a charge. So, just be very careful when using this sprayer in a dirty environment and try to keep the top as clean as possible. If it does get dirty, you can rinse off the top prior to pumping and that should keep the dirt out. However, if the dirt gets into the pump, you'll have to clean the top and the pump in order to get the pressurization to work again. Overall, this sprayer is very nice and I would recommend it to all.

A great sprayer!
By Nick on 10/09/2008
This Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer is a great sprayer, works, very well. The pump is easy to use and stores enough pressure to do work without always stopping. The plastic is solid and sturdy, and the handle is easy to use. I had to fill it 1.5 times to be able to apply liquid pesticide around my house. I'm glad that I got the 2-gallon version, so I don't have to stop and refill as much. I highly recommend it.

Chapin Premier 2 Gal Sprayer 21220
By Ronald in Opelousas, LA on 04/14/2010
This is by far one of the best sprayers on the market. I own two of them, one for weed killing, one for pesticides, etc. When compared to the ones you can purchase at building supply stores it is far superior.

Great Product, Great Company
By Sam in Proctorville, OH on 07/14/2010
This is a premium product, made by a great company with exceptional customer support. I somehow lost the siphon tube when I was assembling the product. I made a call to DoMyOwnPestControl's 800 number, they didn't have the part so they gave me Chapin's number. They figured out what I needed and shipped it right to me. Both companies were extremely courteous and pleasant and the first person to answer the phone was able to help me.

I purchased the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon sprayer last August and have used it countless times since and it GREAT. I used to go down to hardware stores or building supply stores and purchase sprayers, but the problem was after using it a few times, something on the sprayer would break like the handle, spray tip, hose etc. Well after buying several sprayers basically I was just throwing my money away so spending a little over $50 dollars for the Chapin sprayer it has paid for itself, I recommend this sprayer, good quality and performance.
Professional Sprayer with Issues
By Even in Omaha, Ne on 12/06/2016
This is a very sturdy sprayer but difficult to use because the sprayer handle locks in place when spraying and by the time you unlock it, you've over sprayed. The nozzle also does not adjust adequately from stream to spray and it leaks. The pressure of the pump results in over application. The only positive reason for owning this over a cheaper Roundup sprayer is the nozzle does not tend to clog.
Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer
By Mike in Irmo, S.C. 29063 on 10/31/2016
The Chapin 2 Gallon Sprayer is one of the best I have used . It's advantages is that it is well constructed, has a wide Mouth opening , brass wand and fitting that also is well constructed . It reminds me of when the good sprayer's that used to be made and made where you can use and will last for a few years instead of a few months !

Excellent product. Well built. Thought the two gallon might be too large.....actually just right. Completed interior and used remaining solution to treat the garage, exterior window ledges, and foundation vents.
Excellant Bug Sprayer
By Chris in Yonkers NY on 09/12/2016
I think this sprayer will last longer than a lot of other sprayers in its price range. the handle is made of metal and the fittings are made of brass. I have gone thru other sprayers that had plastic parts. I will never deal with anyone else, Do my own pest control has Excellent customer service, and shipping is very fast.

Chapin 2 gl sprayer
By Kevin in Illinois on 08/05/2016
I highly recommend the Chapin line of sprayers. We are a property mgt company and do our own spraying inside and lawns. I have found that you need to buy at least a sprayer with a brass wand from there you may buy a tank that suits your needs. I have bought sprayers from local lumber depots firms BUT when you go back in 6 mo. to buy parts they are selling another line of sprayers and parts for your sprayer are no longer available. These sprayers hold up and parts are always available for this line from DoMyOwn.

Works very well.
By Dave in Putnam County, NY on 07/15/2016
Only used two times so far but seems much better than my other two from HD and Walmart that leak or lose pressure easily. The design of top and pump along with metal wand make a difference. Worth the money. Would buy again. Wish it came with the fan nozzle that I had to buy as extra attachment. Still worth the $.

Ask a Question
QDoes Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220) fan spray or pin stream spray or both?
AAll of the Chapin sprayers that we sell come with adjustable nozzles that will go from a pin stream to a broader fan type spray.
QIs the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer guaranteed? If so, for how long?
AThe Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has a lifetime guarantee on the poly tank only against manufacturing defects. Having said that, the Chapin company has excellent customer service and is always willing to work with our customers to make sure they are satisfied.
QI bought the plastic nozzle that has four spray sizes and it seems to have gotten clogged. How do I unclog?
Also, I noticed that the Timbor powder did not mix well with cold water. Is it necessary to mix it in a separate container before putting it in the sprayer?
AUsually, you can use a toothpick to unclog the nozzle or some other small rod type tool. Also, you can soak the nozzle in hot water to help dislodge anything in the nozzle. As far as the Timbor, you should always mix the Timbor in a separate bucket first and it helps greatly to use warm or hot water. Once dissolved and mixed, you can pour it in your sprayer and use right away. Do not leave the Timbor mixture in your sprayer overnight or it can settle and clog the hose or nozzle.
QWhat is the max distance I can reach with Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220)?
Reaching insect nest in trees.
AIf the sprayer is pumped up as much as possible you may reach distances of 10 ft max. For areas where you may need a great distance reach please consider the Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer. The Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer offers maximum portability and can be used in any container simply by dropping the weighted strainer into the solution and pumping with the slide pump. The sprayer features an 84in heavy duty nylon reinforced chemical resistant hose and a brass adjustable nozzle for fine mist to coarse stream. The brass pump develops pressure up to 150 psi and allows you to reach targets over 30 feet away. You can see the video of this sprayer in use by clicking going to the Chapin Slide Pump Sprayer page on our website.
QDo I need to purchase a different nozzle for the Chapin Premier 1 gal 21210 sprayer for indoor use?
Would the .1 gpm fan nozzle be better for spraying indoors than the adjustable one included with the sprayer? I will be spraying Suspend SC.
AThe adjustable nozzle that is included with the Chapin Premier 1 gallon sprayer 21210 works very well for both indoor and outdoor use and it is not necessary to replace it with another nozzle.

QWhat is wrong if the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has pressure, but it does not spray anything?
It seems to be clogged.
A Be sure that you have properly assembled the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer #21220XP. You may especially want to check the siphon tube inside the tank that is responsible for the uptake of liquid inside the sprayer. You should also check the hose connection, and be sure the nozzle is not screwed in too tightly. If you are still experiencing trouble, you can also contact Chapin Customer Service at 850-950-4458 M-F 8a-5p EST.

QIs the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer able to hold diesel fuel and still last?
AWe do not recommend that you use gasoline or ethanol in any sprayer because of their flash points. We did speak to the manufacturers of the two lines of sprayers we carry and both said that while they cannot truly recommend a sprayer for your needs because of liability issues, some professionals do use the Chapin 3.5 Gallon Concrete Sprayer 1949 to spray diesel fuel.

QI've heard Chapin makes the best sprayers. For spraying plants, which sprayer will create the finest spray?
2 gallon sprayer is much preferred over backpack sprayers, due to limited path space in greenhouse.
AThe Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has an adjustable brass cone nozzle tip that will spray a Fine mist, cone pattern, & pin stream pattern. it does not come with a fan tip nozzle. It is made of Heavy duty polyethylene tank with brass wand, handle and nozzle.

QGetting lid to seal correctly
I bought this sprayer in June. Love it, but recently can not get the top to seal properly so that I can create the vacuum to be able to pump and spray. Any suggestions. The unit is not damaged. We just can not get the lid to seal properly. Spent half hour today trying and gave up! Frustrating
AWe would recommend speaking with Chapin directly. They are excellent with troubleshooting sprayers. If there is something to be found defective, they would be happy to send you the part that is needed. Their phone number is 1-800-950-4458.

QDoes the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Spryaer have chemicals included?
Or do I need to purchase thrum idol chemicals separate?
AThe Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer is just a sprayer to apply chemicals, they do not come with it. If you would please tell us what you are trying to treat for we would be happy to make a product recommendation.

QIs this or the one gallon sprayer a good replacement for the B&G 1 gallon stainless steel sprayer?
The one most proffesionals (pct) use?
ABoth the Chapin 1 gallon and 2 gallon premier sprayer are fantastic homeowner grade sprayers. B&G sprayers are made to last 30-40 years with everyday use while the Chapin Premier sprayers typically last for around 5 years. The decision to use the 1 gallon sprayer vs the 2 gallon sprayer is a personal choice based on the weight you feel comfortable carrying and how often you would like to refill the sprayer.

QHow small of a hole will the spray go through on the Chapin sprayer?
I will be using this with the Boracare to treat an indoor infestation. I have holes in the wall where the termites have appeared, and I want to know how big a hole I will need to drill to treat the area with this spray nozzle.
AThe sprayer comes with an adjustable nozzle and typically when applying product in the situation you are describing, you would turn the nozzle so it shoots a pin stream from the wand and you can just place the nozzle right up to the hole. You should only have to use a 1/4 of an inch drill bit to accommodate the stream.
