This is a very nice spreader for salting pathways, Just what the doctor ordered. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because I deducted one for the grate that comes with it. While the grate is a great idea the holes are just a little small for rock salt and I find that you have to always be shaking the spreader to get a steady flow of salt. Double the hole size and this would be a five star spreader. I particularly like the worm drive instead of the old cotter pin to deliver the salt. Colud never find a replacement cotter pin that would fit so the worm or auger is a nice feature.

This is my 2nd Chapin salter spreader that I have bought for my plow business. The quality of the spreader is unmatched. Great product for the money. This is all I will buy from now on.

We run a residential snow removal service and have tried 2 other competitors salt spreaders only to end up disappointed. The Chapin spreader has proved to be a true commercial grade spreader capable of salting multiple properties fast and easy ! Great product ! Durable and very dependable ! We will continue to purchase Chapin products for our commercial and personal applications.

Arrived packaged well. Easy to assemble. Used once so far seems very sturdy, easy to use. I just use fine dry sand for driveway. Not sure how parts hold up to salt. Very pleased with item
