Contrac Blox, used in Protecta bait boxes, has proved particularly effective in eliminating field rat damage around our rural home. We began using the Contrac product about a year ago after suffering several thousands of dollars of wiring damage on our vehicles. Previous approaches to the problem had provided little to no noticeable reduction. We place the bait boxes in and around our carport, barn and utility buildings, and we keep them baited year-round. No damage and no rat nests have been observed since the bait boxes have been in place. One word of caution: I made the mistake of disposing of bait remnants in an accessible trash container and subsequently caught my dogs eating those pieces (which undoubtedly smelled like the rats they hunt).

Since I've only had the products for a short amount of time, I'm giving them four stars. I'll come back later and give an updated review if they hold up to my expectations. What I like about the use of the Blox with a bait station is the ease in which I can put them where they are needed. As of this review, I have not seen any new mouse activity, whereas before I put them down, I was seeing mice on an average 1 to 2 every six weeks. That is, after the product I had in place had lost its effectiveness. I also have electronic pest chasers and they would still showed up; so that's when I got "Do My Own Pest Control." I think I like the Rodenticide and will continue to use it in conjunction with my other products.

Bought this product because of great reviews. I used the product inside the Protecta Mouse Bait Stations. The Bait stations allowed water inside so that could have been an issue. I will continue to try the blox and maybe try to find a location that allows as little moisture as possible. Currently they are in locations that should not have a great amount of exposure such as under a balcony next to a deck and house. I don't believe the mice took any bait. Snap traps seem to yield me a mouse a day. I even put the stations next to the traps hoping that might work!

I was able to abandon an expensive pest program by doing the work myself. The former service company left behind all the bait stations and all I had to do was check them and refill to keep a mouse problem in check in a summer cottage. This is an outstanding product for the control and eradication of gophers (sage rats). I have a 20 acre property and it has been infested with gophers. My son-in-law recommended your product to us and installed a 3" tubular device in the form of an inverted "T": the upper 3" plastic tube (3 feet) was connected to a 3" plastic fitting "T" with two 18 " plastic tube side arms. A 3 foot wire with a stop at one end was loaded with your product and lowered into upper 3 foot plastic tube. Two holes were drilled into a cap on the upper length plastic tube to hold the suspended wire. I have installed 4 additional plastic units with your product on my property and the gopher population has been drastically reduced.

I was trying to get rid of a sudden infestation of pack rats. So I tried the stuff recommended by the guys at the big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. The bait would disappear so I figured the problem was solved or would soon be. Wrong. I pulled one of the nests apart and found all the bait, some chewed and partially eaten. The recommended bait had absolutely no effect on the little varmints. So I placed an order with DoMyOwnPestControl.com, problem solved. This is not the first time I have used DoMyOwnPestControl.com, and truthfully, after it was all over and done, I felt silly that I didn't go to them first.  I let some guy at the hardware store sell me on a product that didn't work, shame on me. Don't let it happen to you. Go to the professionals at DoMyOwnPestControl.com for the right advice on what products to use and how to use them. I won't make that mistake again. And no, I don't work for them.

Living in Arizona, we have a tremendous Pack Rat problem. I also use T Rex traps, but the rats do become trap shy. I have used Fastrac blocks with some success, but have not eliminated the rats. I have now used Contrac for three weeks, and after an initial feeding frenzy of this product, I have not seen ANY rat evidence anywhere! I am VERY happy with this product, and this company is a pleasure to deal with.

I found the key to success is sealing off any potential points of entry for mice and rats, to prevent new ones from infesting your building following the treatment of the affected area. they work great I put 3 Blox in the area that the rats were frequenting and the next day one was gone and the next two disappeared sometime later. Then I found a scrap of 3/4 inch plywood about 4"x7". I drilled 2 holes about 4" appart and installed 2 1/4" carriage bolts 7" long with nuts and washers and put 2 pieces of blox on each of the bolts and secured them with washers and nuts. I am happy to report that the rats are dinning on them as you would corn on the cob.I assume this will take care of my problem
