This product is intended for large bodies of water and cannot be used in small ponds containing koi or gold fish.
Cutrine-Plus is one of the most popular algaecides on the market today. It is a double-chelated copper solution effective against a wide variety of algal species. Due to its double-chelate it stays in the water column longer, and in combination with its greater amount of activity in the plant can be much more effective. May 22, 2010Michael asked:
QHow do you figure application rate of Cutrine Plus Algaecide for small Koi ponds?
I have 2 ponds.
One is about 20 foot long 3 foot wide stream only 1.5 foot deep.
Another 20 x 15 only 2 foot deep.
How much product to treat both at one application?
A You should not use Cutrine Plus Aglaecide for small ponds containing koi fish. This is the verbiage from the product label: This product may be toxic to trout and other species of fish. Fish toxicity is dependent upon the hardness of water. Do not use in water containing trout if the carbonate hardness of water does not exceed 50 ppm. Do not use in waters containing Koi and hybrid goldfish. Not intended for use in small volume, garden pond systems. Unfortunately we do not carry an algaecide to be used in small koi ponds. We recommend you talk to a local koi pond supplier.
August 24, 2011Deb from Cobb, asked:
QCan you buy cutrine plus algaecide in granulated form?
Our controller of the lake we live on suggest we use it around the area of our boathouse and the granules would work best.
AWe do not carry Cutrine Plus in the granule form. However, we do carry a different brand of algeacide called GreenClean Pro Granules which is actually our best selling algeacide.
June 27, 2011Karen asked:
QCan Cutrine Plus product be used safely in equine water troughs to prevent/eliminate algae?
AWe believe the answer to your question is yes, but that is not specifically mentioned on the product label. We would ask that you call the manufacturer directly since they are the true experts on their own product. You can reach them at 1-800-558-5106.
