    Q
Is Cynoff WP safe to use with babies and kids?
    A
Yes. Unless other wise noted,  the pesticides on our website are safe to use in a home with children. As with any product, it is important to follow the label instructions and precautions to ensure safety. Cynoff WP should be used as a crack and crevice treatment indoors.

    Q
Is there a product that does not leave a white residue? I have a dark house inside and out.
    A
A comparable product to the Cynoff WP that will not leave a white powdery residue is Cy-Kick CS. Just like a wettable powder, Cy-Kick CS creates a thick barrier of microcapsules that is impossible for insects to cross without being exposed to a lethal dose of insecticide. Exposed insects pick up microcapsules on their hairs and body triggering a rapid release of the active ingredient, resulting in death.

    Q
Will Cynoff WP kill Arizona Bark Scorpions?
I have been told that there's not a pesticide that will kill this type of scorpion, and Cynoff WP only kills off their food supply which will make them move. What product do you recommend if it isn't Cynoff WP?
    A
Cynoff WP will kill scorpions, but scorpions do take longer to kill than other insects. Most insecticides must be ingested for them to work, but since scorpions do not groom themselves like other insects it takes longer for them to get a lethal dose. It is also true that Cynoff WP can help eliminate much of the scorpions food source (other insects), making your property poor hunting grounds and forcing the scorpions there to move and stopping new scorpions from moving.

    Q
Will Cynoff WP Get Rid Of Bees, Wasps, and Hornets on Wood sided barn?
My barn is 100 long by 60 feet wide with 14 foot walls. The siding is all wood and most of it is exposed at this time as the stain has worn off. This has provided excellent staging for bees, hornets and wasps. I intend to stain the entire barn, but I'd like to get rid of the stinging bugs first. Can I spray Cynoff WP on the entire exterior walls of the barn to effectively reduce the massive numbers of wasps, hornets and bees? If not this, what should I do?
    A
Yes, Cynoff would be a great option for you. Bees and Wasps: Application to nests should be made late in the evening when insects are at rest. Please be aware that this product has the potential to leave a slight residue over dark areas.

    Q
Is Cynoff WP safe around cats?
I understand that it dries to a powdery film. Could this film transfer onto my cats feet and coat at all, to later be ingested?
    A
Cynoff WP is safe to use around pets when used as directed on the product label. Cynoff WP is a crack and crevice treatment indoors and when used this way cats would have very minimal opportunity to contact the product. Also, once the product is applied there is only enough active ingredient to kill a tiny insect and not enough to have an effect on an animal as large as a cat.

    Q
How many teaspoons or ounces of Cynoff WP should I put into the 16 ounce bottle?
I will be using my Gilmour, 16 ounce capacity bottle, garden hose attached hand held sprayer. How many teaspoons or ounces of Cynoff WP should I put into the 16 ounce bottle?
    A
I believe the Gilmour hose end sprayers have a dial that measure teaspoons of product per gallon of water.  One scoop form the Cynoff WP scooper that come with the container is equivalent to 2 teaspoons.  For most insect control with Cynoff WP, you should mix 2 teaspoons to each gallon of water.  Also, the cynoff WP label says to use one gallon of mixed solution over 400 square feet . Let's say you wanted to spray Cynoff WP over a 1200 square foot area.  This would require 3 gallons of solution, each gallon covering 400 square feet.  Each gallon would require 2 teaspoons of Cynoff WP to mix with the water.  So you should fill your Gilmour hose end sprayer with 3 spoonfuls from the scooper in the Cynoff WP, but set the hose end sprayer on the 2 teaspoon setting per gallon of water, which is probably just turning the dial to the number 2.  You should apply 3 gallons of water through the hose end sprayer, mixing 2 teaspoons at a time over 1200 square feet .  Hope this makes sense.  Hose end sprayers are confusing but can cover a much larger area than hand pump sprayers.  Please feel free to call us if you need any further clarification at 866-581-7378.

    Q
My house eaves were sprayed with Cynoff and some spray might have drifted down on some small tomato plants.
I washed them off. Would there be any residue when they finally bear fruit 3 months from now?
    A
Since Cynoff WP only lasts about 30 days outside, you should be fine if your fruit is 3 months away from being harvested.  Also since you washed them off initially you should be fine.

    Q
Will the white residue of Cynoff WP dry up?
Will it leave spots on the floor?
    A

Cynoff WP is a wettable powder, so it leaves behind a white residue that is noticeable on darker surfaces once dry as it reverts to its powder form, just adhered to surfaces.  It is not labeled to be used on floors as a broadcast, only around the rooms along baseboards, cracks and crevices etc.

    Q
Should I but Cynoff WP or Cynoff EC best one for Carpenter Bees?
Which product is better for treating for Carpenter Bees or (which is stronger) -- Cynoff EC liquid or Cynoff WP powder. I prefer the liquid but will buy the strongest one.
    A
Cyper wp is usually chosen for carpenter because the powder residue sits on top of porous surfaces such as wood while the liquids can be absorbed and are not available to the bees when they land.

    Q
Is Cynoff WP good to apply for scorpions and how much do I mix with water?
    A
Cynoff WP is a great product for scorpions and all other insects.  Cynoff WP comes with a scooper inside the jar.  You should mix 1 scoop per gallon of water for most small insects and 2 scoops per gallon of water for scorpions, spiders, and roaches.

    Q
How rain resistant is Cynoff WP?
As long as Cynoff is dry after an exterior application, does it become rain resistant?
    A
Cynoff WP typically has a life span of 30 to 45 days before re-treatment is required.  Sometimes it can last longer than this.  UV light is the biggest culprit of breaking down pesticide residuals.  Most products, including Cynoff WP, can hold up to rain quite well.  However, if you have a really bad rain spell and it rains for days on end, then this can wear down the product quicker than normal.

    Q
What should I use for an ant problem? Will Cynoff work for small roaches?
Cynoff seemed to work for the large roaches but the little ones are still around!
    A

It is normal to see the nymph roaches after spraying. Only the insects that actually come into contact with treated areas will be killed by Cynoff.  Basically you have killed off the larger adult roaches with Cynoff WP but you still have egg cases that are hidden away and they will continue to hatch and you will see the smaller nymph or baby roaches. We recommend that you use an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol IGR to help halt the growth of the juvenile roaches. By halting the growth of the roaches you will be able to stop them from reaching sexual maturity which in turn will stop the prodution of new eggs. We also recommend that you use a  roach bait gel such as Advion Roach Bait Gel to get rid of those roaches that hide in areas where cannot spray such as wall voids, cabinets, drawers and cupboards. You can purchase these two products together in our Roach Control Kit #1.

Ants can also be controlled with a bait product. Advion Ant Bait Gel can be applied in areas where you see ant activity. The ants will eat the gel and return to the colony where they will feed the gel to the other ants, effectively wiping out the entire colony. It is very important to avoid spraying Cynoff in places where you apply the roach bait gel or the ant bait gel to avoid having the insects reject the bait.

    Q
Is Cynoff WP safe to use in a septic system?
Having roaches come up my drains and would like to put something safe down the drains to get rid of them but not upset the balance of the septic system. If it is safe, how much would I use?
    A

Cynoff WP cannot be used in a septic system nor can any other insecticide we carry be used down drains. Roaches would only be coming from the drains if there is a crack in the pipe allowing them to come in.  You would generally only see roaches coming from drains after they have gone down to get water.  For roaches in a home we would recommend one of our Roach Control Kits and also have a great guide that explains the best treatment to eliminate them.

    Q
Will Cynoff WP kill mahogany wasps and keep them out?
I have a large infestation of mahogany wasps, and I had the exterminator come out and spray, $80.00 bill. What was left in the football size nests hatched in a matter of days, and I am back to a swarm. Will Cynoff WP kill them and continue killing after I spray? Also, does it have a knock down effect?
    A
Cynoff WP will indeed kill the wasps. You should spray either very late in the evening or very early in the morning when the wasps are less active and less likely to sting. Cynoff WP does not offer an instant knockdown, but it does have a long lasting residual effect.

    Q
    Does Cynoff WP kill termites?
    A
Cynoff WP is not labeled for termite control. There are many products on the market that work very well for termite control and are labeled for termites. Termidor SC is the most popular termite treatment and when used as directed it will last for 10 years or more in the soil. Dominion 2L is a low cost alternative to Termidor SC and when used as directed it will last up 7 years in the soil.

    Does Cynoff WP kill Springtails?
    A
Cynoff WP will kill springtails.  However, springtails will not completely go away until you address the moisture issue.  Springtails breed in areas of high moisture content.  If you have a springtail problem, then it is because there is a moisture issue somewhere around the house.  Please read this article on Springtail control.
