How Cyonara 9.7 Works
Cyonara 9.7 is a water-based insecticide concentrate that is diluted with water and applied with a hand pump sprayer or other pressurized application equipment. Cyonara 9.7 contains the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin, the same active ingredient in the popular insecticide Demand CS. Lambda-cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid designed to mimic the naturally-occurring pyrethrins derived from the Chrysanthemum flower, attacking an insect’s central nervous system. The synthetic active ingredient, however, is less costly and has a long-lasting residual. Cyonara 9.7 applications kill insects that come in contact with the direct spray or with the dried residual for weeks after application.
Common crawling and flying insect pests including ants, bed bugs, beetles, boxelder bugs, carpenter bees, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, fleas, millipedes, mosquitoes, pantry pests, silverfish, spiders, ticks, wasps; ornamental and lawn pests such as armyworms, chinch bugs, crickets, cutworms, lacebugs, leafhoppers, mealybugs, pillbugs, scale, stink bugs, and webworms (see below for complete list)

Target Uses of Cyonara 9.7
Cyonara 9.7 insecticide concentrate has an incredibly broad label, making it an excellent choice for almost any insect pest control needs. Use Cyonara as a general or quarterly perimeter treatment outdoors and as a crack and crevice treatment indoors. Cyonara 9.7 can be used to treat most common crawling, flying, ornamental, and turf pests, and it is labeled for use in food handling establishments (non-food areas only). Use to treat occasional invaders like ants, cockroaches, centipdedes, earwigs, spiders, and crickets. Cyonara 9.7 can also be used to treat pantry pests, stinging insects, seasonal pests such as carpenter bees or boxelder bugs, and lawn and ornamental pests. Cyonara 9.7 can also be applied to treat litter beetles and flies and livestock and poultry housing.
Cyonara 9.7 dries clear and will not leave a visible residue on dark surfaces like other insecticide formulations. The risk of phytotoxicity is very low with Cyonara 9.7, though a small area should be tested before making large applications.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.7%
*** Always read the product label completely before use ***
Use as a general surface, crack and crevice, or spot treatment in, on, and around buildings and structures and their immediate surroundings, and on modes of transport.
Dilute CYONARA 9.7 with water for application using hand-held or power-operated application equipment as a coarse spray for crack and crevice or spot and general surface (non-food/non-feed areas only) treatments.
- Fill applicator tank with the desired volume of water and add CYONARA 9.7.
- Close and shake before use in order to ensure proper mixing.
- Shake or re-agitate applicator tank before use if application is interrupted.
- Mix only amount of treatment volume as required.
Tank Mixing: CYONARA 9.7 may be tank mixed with other currently registered pesticides unless expressly prohibited by the product label. A small volume mixing test with the other products is recommended to ensure compatibility.
- If other chemicals are added to the applicator tank, CYONARA 9.7 should be added last.
- If mixed with EC formulations, use within 24 hours.
- Fill tank to desired volume and continue to agitate while making applications.
- CYONARA 9.7 may be tank mixed with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR).
- Observe all restrictions and precautions which appear on the labels of these products.
* Cyonara 9.7 may be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control or prevent pests including ants, bees, termites (above ground only), wasps, or other arthropods harboring in walls, under slabs, or in other void areas.
* Cyonara 9.7 does not provide instant knockdown for stinging insects such as bees and wasps. For best results, treat bee, wasp and hornet nests late in the day when most insects will be present. Allow 2-3 days for the colony to die and repeat if necessary.
- Remove all exposed food and cooking utensils.
- Cover all food handling surfaces or wash thoroughly after treatment and before use.
- Do not use on edible crops.
- Each 8 oz. bottle of concentrate yields 10 – 40 gallons of finished solution, depending on application.
- Each 32 oz. (quart) bottle yields 40 – 160 gallons of finished solution.
- Each gallon of finished solution should cover approximately 1,000 square feet.
Standard Application Dilution Rates / Mixing Ratios:
- 0.2 fl. oz. (6 mL)/gal. of water – 0.015% - Maintenance or Prevention of most common pests, small pests such as ants.
- 0.4 fl. oz. (12 mL)/gal. of water – 0.03% - Active infestations of most common pests, fleas (outdoors only), light beetle infestations.
- 0.8 fl. oz. (24 mL)/gal. of water – 0.06% - Clean-out, severe infestations of pests such as cockroaches, crickets, flies, litter beetles, carpenter bees; residual control of mosquitoes.
- 0.2-0.8 (6-24mL) in 1-5 gal. of water over 800-1600 sq. ft. – perimeter barrier applications.
- 1.5-5.0 fl. oz. (44-148 mL)/100 gal. of water – Ornamental pest applications over large areas.
- 5-10 fl. oz. per acre – 2.4-7 mL per 1,000 sq. ft. – Lawn and turfgrass pests; use sufficient water for coverage, usually 2-5 gal. of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- 0.5 fl. oz. (15 mL)/1-2.5 gal. of water – Spot treatments of ornamental or turf pests
For use in the following areas:
In, on and around buildings and structures for the control of listed pests, including on lawns, ornamental trees and shrubs around residential, institutional, public, commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings; and parks, recreational areas and athletic fields; Areas include but are not limited to industrial buildings, houses, apartment buildings, laboratories, buses, greenhouses (non-commercial), stores, warehouses, vessels, railcars, trucks, trailers, aircraft (cargo and other non-cabin areas only), schools, nursing homes, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, livestock/poultry housing, pet kennels, food granaries, food grain mills and food manufacturing, processing, and servicing establishments
Crawling Insects such as Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Silverfish, and Spiders: Apply as a coarse, low pressure spray to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, cabinets, behind and under refrigerators, sinks, furnaces and stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices
Bedbugs: Clean floors and surfaces by vacuuming. Apply as a coarse, low-pressure spray to harborage areas including crevices, baseboards, loose plaster, behind bed frames and headboards, beneath beds and furniture, and to bedsprings and bed frames. Do not apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Use a pesticide approved for use on mattresses on these areas. Infested bedding should not be treated, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures. Not recommended as the sole treatment for bed bugs.
Food-Handling Establishments: Use as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in and around both food and nonfood areas. Apply in small amounts directly into cracks and crevices, using equipment capable of delivering a pin stream of insecticide, in points between different elements of construction, between equipment and floor, openings leading to voids and hollow spaces in walls, equipment and bases. Food contact surfaces and equipment should be cleaned with an effective cleaning compound and rinsed with potable water before using. Limit individual spot treatments to an area no larger than 20% of the treated surface. Individual spot treatments should not exceed 2 sq. ft.
* Applications can be reapplied at 21-day intervals if necessary.
Outdoor Surfaces: Apply with either hand or power application equipment as a residual treatment to ornamental plants next to foundations of buildings and to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, refuse dumps, and other similar areas where these insect pests are active.
Perimeter Barrier Treatments:
- Before application, remove debris and leaf litter from next to the foundation, cut back vegetation and branches that touch the foundation, and move or rake back rocks, deep mulch, or other potential pest harborage next to the foundation.
- Apply a continual band of insecticide around building foundations and around windows, doors, service line entrances, eaves, vents, and other areas to reduce the potential for entry by crawling pests.
- Apply the band up to 10 ft. wide around the structure (or according to state regulations governing commercial pest control) and upwards along the foundation to 3 ft. and around windows, doors, and roof overhangs.
- Apply as a coarse spray to thoroughly and uniformly wet the foundation and/or band area so that the insecticide will reach the soil or thatch level where pests may be active.
Carpenter Bees: Apply coarse spray to thoroughly wet wood surfaces where bees have been previously active or to provide protection against further damage. Apply early in the spring to prevent bees from invading wood. When bees have infested wood, surface applications can help control embedded larvae and bees that emerge from the wood. See also: Carpenter Bee Control.
Lawns/Turfgrass and Ornamentals: Application rates for turf and ornamentals are lower than structural pest control rates, reflecting that treatment intervals are more frequent. Do not apply more than 52.4 fl. oz. of concentrate (0.36 lbs. a.i.) per acre per year. Applications to ornamentals or turf should be started prior to the establishment of high insect pest populations. Apply at 7-day intervals if retreatment is necessary. Limit more frequent treatment to spot treatments. . Addition of a spreader-sticker at recommended rates may enhance the control of insects on certain species of ornamentals having waxy, hard to wet foliage.

This killed everything!!
By Steve on 09/05/2007
Cyonara 9.7 is an awesome product. Not too many products last long down here in the 100 degree heat but this does for a solid 4 weeks. This killed everything, there weren't any bugs even at night with the porch light on. I had a really horrible problem with flies, crickets and spiders and this knocked them down permanently for a month while it was in the upper 90's/ 100's.

After months of battling cockroaches, flies, and ants, I went to my local pest control store. They sold 1 pint size container of Cyonara 9.7 and showed me the proper way to mix this substance in a 2 gallon sprayer. About 24-48 hrs after I applied it around my home, there were no signs of any of the above mentioned insects even after receiving 10 inches of rain plus temps over 90 degrees. By the way I had sprayed my house over 15 days ago. I would refer Cyonara 9.7 to anyone who does their own pest control, it's definitely worth the money.

Bed Bugs Gone
By Bill in Nashville, TN on 11/07/2013
I know you are flipping out. Steam and Encase everything. Use your dryer to heat up what you can and then encase that. I used cyonara mixed a little hot and sprayed the baseboards and any cracks in our paneling. It took a couple sprays, but they are gone. I am still spraying once per month for good measure

I have been buying the same product for over 2years and it covers everything I need to do. It takes care of my spider and ant problems. Wife loves it. I spray every 4 to 6 months and it does the job. Great value for the price. It has saved me a great deal on hiring someone to spray.

Awesome!! No more MOSQUITO'S or FLIES!! Thank-you very much :) PS Purchased the $30 B&G SPRAYER. Better than any other plastic sprayer you buy. Works great.

It reduced the amount of all types of house bugs and yard bugs but it didn't eliminate them. It has a very nasty smell.
By Joseph in Milwaukee, WI on 09/30/2016
Cyonara works great on eliminating bed bugs. I believe my apartment is free of bedbugs. It did not take long to eliminate them. It is taking longer to get rid of cockroaches, since the whole building where I live is infested with them.
no impact on roach
By Periathamby in allen on 09/29/2016
I do not recommend this product for roach control. total waste.
We apologize you did not receive the expected results. Cyonara is a great product and will help with roach control but we do not recommend you use it as your sole source of roach control. Roaches nest in areas you cannot reach with spray. For this reason, spray insecticides need to be used in a complete roach control program. Please take a few moments to read our Roach Control Guide to learn how to implement a successful roach control program: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-roaches-a-458.html
Don't work like stated
By Bed in Georgia on 09/27/2016
Ordered this for a friend that has bed bugs. She said she sprayed it waited 24 hours she seen some crawling. She repeated the treatment still crawling. And that her house isn't infested there's a few. I decided to see one. placed it in a container and sprayed it... It didn't die and that I left it for 6 hours. I know I will never buy this if I ever got bed bugs. She wasted her money for nothing.
We apologize you did not receive the results your expected. Cyonara is not a fast killing product. It kills within 24-72 hours. Some bedbugs are resistant to pyrethroid products as well so we never recommend using one product by itself for bedbug control. Please take a moment to read our Bedbug Control Guide and please share it with your friend so you can both learn what is required to implement a successful program: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-bed-bugs-a-449.html

I find that a quarterly application of Cyonara 9.7 controls spiders, scorpions , ants and most common house pest. The product is pretty much odorless . does not streak or stain fabric, and does not disturb indoor pets. The product is a DO your Own answer.

QWhat is the proper mixing ratio to water of Cyonara 9.7 in a 1 gallon sprayer
What is the proper ratio for mixing Cyonara in a one gallon sprayer. I want good protection from ants, spiders, crickets, scorpions, beetles etc in the Phoenix area. I don't want to over mix it, i.e. wasting it. The mixing chart is a little confusing with a lot of different ratios starting at 5 gallon mixing etc.
ASince scorpions are on your list you will need to use the highest application rate of 0.8 fl. oz. (24 mL) per
gallon of water. Pages 3 and 4 of Cyonara product label has a usage rate chart based on the types of pests you will be treating
QCan I apply Cyonara 9.7 inside my home? I have kids and small dogs inside.
AYes, you can use Cyonara 9.7 while kids and dogs are in the house. When you mix this concentrate with water, it is only .03% - .06% active ingredient and only strong enough to kill small insects. It is a good idea to keep pets and children outside or in another room while treating and then allow about 30 minutes for the product to dry. Once dry, it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the living space. Of course, you should always store the bottle of concentrate just like any other cleaning chemicals, out of reach of children and pets.
QI'm looking for one of your products to control stink bugs, but I won't buy a product made in China.
Is Cyonara made in China, as this is the one that looks best for our situation? Thank you!
ACyonara is manufactured in Houston, Texas. American made!
QIs Cyonara 9.7 safe for dogs when sprayed in the yard?
ACyonara 9.7 is safe for use around dogs when used as directed on the product label. Keep the dogs out of the yard while Cyonara is being applied and do not allow them to return to the yard until the treatment is dry.
QDoes Cyonara 9.7 spray work for bedbugs?
how often would i have to repeat this for it to guarantee that i won't get bed bugs back again.
ACyonara 9.7 will work for bedbugs but it should not be the only product you use. You will also need to use an aerosol that can be sprayed on mattresses and furniture and into cracks and crevices, dust that you can apply in wall voids and other cracks and crevices and an insect growth regulator to help halt the breeding process. We have put together bedbug kits that contain all of the different products you would need for bedbug treatments. We also recommend using bedbug proof mattress and boxspring encasements to help eliminate current infestations and help make bedbug inspections easier in the future. Unfortunately there is no way to guarantee that you will not get infested in the future. Bedbugs are notorious hitch hikers and can come in on people or infested items.

QDoes Cyonara 9.7 kill bedbug eggs? Will it continue to kill them once dried?

QIs Cyonara 9.7 micro-encapsulated?
I know it has the same active ingredient as Demand CS, but is it micro-encapsulated like Demand CS. If not, is here a more economical version of Demand CS.
A Cyonara 9.7 and Demand CS have the exact same active ingredient, Lambda-Cyhalothrin at the exact same concentration, 9.7%. Cyonara 9.7 is the generic brand of Demand CS and they are very similar. The main difference between the products is that the Demand CS is micro-encapsulated and the Cyonara 9.7 is not. Micro-encapsulation means that the active ingredient is contained in thousands of microscopic capsules that slowly release the product as the capsule dries out after the application. This helps the product be slightly less repellent to insects and helps the product last for a bit longer than other products. Equil Lambda CS is micro-encapsulated which means it stays stronger and more effective longer.

QWill Cyonara kill bees that are pollinating my plants?
I bought Cyonara due to something eating my Mexican Petunia plants and was told it would not kill the Bees but on the bottle it says that it will, I need to know if that is true or not, I don't want to kill the Bees.
A If bees come in contact with an area treated with Cyonara, it is possible that they will die. We do recommend not spraying when the bees are active to avoid killing them.†

QHow much time before we can expect to see results using Cyonara 9.7?
I purchased Cynoara 9.7 and Gentrol IGR for use in my home for cockroaches. I just wondered what the normal time frame is before we should start to see their population diminishing?
A You should start to see results/decline within a few days of applying Cyonara 9.7. †However, the product†will only kill the roaches that contact a treated surface and when used alone with an IGR but without baits will not effectively eliminate an infestation completely. †This is because†not all roaches come out to contact the treated areas. †It would also be recommended to use a bait such as the MaxForce FC Magnum. †We recommend spraying low around baseboards, under appliances, in corners, around door frames and window frames. Useing the bait up high on counter tops, apply directly into cracks and crevices to get rid of the roaches that live in the walls. The†Gentrol IGR will help disrupt the roaches breeding and development cycle, allowing you to get rid of the roaches you currently have before they reproduce out of control while the bait and Cyonara will help to eliminate them together. We do have a great guide here that further explains "How to Get Rid of†Roaches".

QIs Cyonara 9.7 good for mixing with other products?
Is this product good for mixing with Bifen? Essentra IC3? or Talstar?
A You should not mix Cyonara 9.7 Insecticide with other pyrethroid concentrates such as Bifen or Talstar. Essentria IC3 is also very similar and should be used as a separate application. Mixing any of these insecticides together would be redundant and may create a repellent effect, causing insects to avoid the area instead of contacting the insecticides.

QWhat is a good repellant we can use for wasps trying to winterize in buildings?
We currently use Demand CS as a repellant for wasp trying to winterize in building. This year we are having problems with the Demand successfully keeping them away. What is a good mixable insecticide repellant we could use in place of Demand CS?
A Cyonara 9.7 is a very good product that can be used for wasps. Be sure to spray around areas where you have seen activity. You could also use a dust, such as Delta Dust, in holes where you have seen them. This will make the area uninhabitable to live in.
