How Cyper WP Insecticide Works

Cyper WP is a residual insecticide concentrate with the active ingredient Cypermethrin. Cypermethrin is in the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides. It is a man-made active ingredient that attacks the central nervous system of insects that come in contact with or ingest it. Cyper WP is diluted with water and applied with a gallon pump sprayer. After it dries, Cyper WP continues to work for up to 3 months.

Cyper WP Target Pests

A variety of crawling and flying pests including (but not limited to) ants, carpenter ants, cockroaches, crickets, scorpions, and spiders

PESTS CONTROLLED WITH CYPER WP: Ants, Bees, Boxelder Bugs, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Centipedes, Chiggers, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Elm Leaf Beetles, Fire Ants (mounds), Firebrats, Fleas, Flies, Millipedes, Mites, Mosquitoes, Pillbugs, Scorpions, Silverfish, Sod Webworms, Sowbugs, Spiders, Ticks,  Termites (above ground only)

Target Uses of Cyper WP

Cyper WP (same as Demon WP and Cynoff WP) insecticide is a loose white powder that is mixed with water. It can be applied as a crack and crevice and/or spot treatment for residual and contact control of ants, bees, biting flies, boxelder bugs, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, elm leaf beetles, firebrats, fleas, flies, millipedes, mosquitoes, pillbugs, silverfish, sowbugs, spiders, ticks, and wasps.

Cyper WP has a residual of up to 3 months. 1 x 1lb. container of Cyper WP yields up to 48 gallons of finished product.

Cyper WP (Wettable Powder) is excellent for larger, tougher pests such as cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, or stink bugs because there is a high concentration of active ingredient. The wettable powder formulation also makes Cyper WP ideal for porous surfaces such as concrete since the individual particles of active ingredient are larger and can more easily stay on top of the surface.

*Cyper WP leaves a white powdery film that may be visible on darker surfaces. For applications where this is a concern, consider using a liquid concentrate instead.

Cyper WP Application Instructions

ec55c5ddb6cda396b3a44778af5e830f

Cyper WP is best applied with a 1 gallon sprayer. Apply to outside foundation and all entry points such as around windows, doors, cracks and crevices, etc. Cyper WP is very toxic to fish. Do not apply near bodies of water or where there may be water run-off. Always read the label completely before use.

Fill applicator tank with the desired volume of water and add Surrender brand Cyper WP Insecticide. Close and agitate before use in order to ensure proper use suspension of the wettable powder. Shake and reagitate application equipment before use if application is interrupted. Make up only amount of treatment volume as required. Do not store dilution in application equipment overnight.

Cyper WP will continue to work for 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. We recommend waiting at least 7 days between applications.

Each 1 pound jar of Cyper WP makes 24-48 gallons of finished solution.

Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for CYPER WP:

*1 scoop (0.33 oz.)/gal. of water – 0.1% – maintenance, more frequent applications, foliar applications

* 2 scoops (0.66 oz.)/gal. of water – 0.2% -- clean-out, severe infestations, exterior applications which receive greater direct sunlight, scorpions

  • Store concentrate out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures for maximum shelf life of 3+ years.

    Very effective

    By Pam on 04/02/2009

I've used Cyper WP in my home in northern KY. It was very effective and me and my neighbors on both sides of my house used this product at the same time. It works better when you can treat inside and outside of your home. It's a lot cheaper than an exterminator. I repeat treatment about every 3 months to prevent the bugs from coming back. Thank you very much, I can now sleep at night without worrying.

    Cyper WP Works Great

    By Jim on 06/06/2010

    Verified Purchase

Our Ranch house was infested with scorpions. We were advised Cyper WP would do the trick. We literally counted about 40 dead ones after the application and have seen only one or two that were acting very sickly. This stuff works. It actually has killed everything that crawls or flies when that pest comes in contact with it. I will be ordering more in quantity for friends and family. Thank You for having a bulk discount.

    The best I ever used

    By George on 08/03/2006

Starting in 2005 I noticed late evening every night on my patio carpet several black bugs and identified them as Oriental cockroaches. In March of 2006, it became terrible. A friend looked on his computer and found that Niban bait was recommended. He gave me your number. My first conversation was with Michael and he recommended Cyper WP with the Niban. He told me to remember that Niban was a bait and not to use the Cyper WP near the Niban. I used a 3 gallon watering can with 4 scoops of Cyper WP, mixed good, to eliminate the nest which was in a long crack in our side walk, adjacent to our patio. I soaked the entire patio carpet, and the entire perimeter of our house. I put the Niban bait, sparingly, not closer than 25' to our sun room and patio. This type of cockroach loves water. I removed my landscaping bark which was always wet from watering flowers. I have since ordered 4 Cyper WP. It has been a good month and a half with NO black water cockroaches in our sun room. Once in a while I will find one on our patio carpet, on his back dead. The Cyper WP in also good for killing ants. The best I ever used. I have 1/2 acre of land so sometimes its a struggle. Thank you for all of your help.

    Cyper WP

    By Sean on 07/30/2010

    Verified Purchase

Does exactly what it said it would do. I had a very bad spider (Brown Recluse and Wolf) problem inside and outside the house, within a day I saw no more living spiders in my house, period. Word of caution, pay attention to what it says about if you have dark floors. I do have dark floors and it leaves a very noticeable white residue. They have others for inside the house that are clear, i just didn't read thoroughly. Great Product.

    Cyper WP Review

    By Jim on 07/17/2010

    Verified Purchase

Seems to be doing the job on black widows and scorpions. Strangely, more scorpions were seen indoors after first application but they were asking to be taken to the ER. Leaves a slight residue, which is the whole idea with the powder, but it's not objectionable and can be wiped/washed off if need be.

Q
How many scoops of Cyper WP should be mixed per gallon of water?

Hi. This is my first time using Cyper WP and I have the one pound container. It came with a scooper, but the package does not state anywhere on how much to use. I am guessing that it is one scoop per gallon. But I do NOT want to guess, so that is why I am asking you how many scoops per gallon?

A

Each jar of Cyper WP comes with a full product label attached to the the jar. If you take a close look, you will see that you can peel off the label and there is a direction booklet attached. Cyper WP does come with a scooper and you do use one or two level scoops per gallon. Most of the common pests require 1 scoop per gallon of water. If you are treating carpenter ants, carpenter bees, cockroaches, fire ants, scorpions, spiders, ticks or wasps, then you need to use 2 scoops per gallon of water.

Q
Can you use more than 2 scoops per gallon of Cyper WP?

When I recently used Cyper about a month ago I noticed that the roaches in the kitchen seemed unaffected by it. They literally crawl over where I sprayed unfazed. So I wanted to know is it safe to use 3 cups per gallon of water for this area? All other treated areas in and out the house are clear of everything but the kitchen remains unaffected.

A
No, you should not use more that 2 scoops of Cyper WP per gallon of water. We strongly recommend you use an IGR (insect growth regulator) such as Gentrol IGR, to stop the reproductive cyle of those roaches along with a roach bait such as Maxforce FC Magnum for optimal roach elimination. Please read over our Roach Control Article for more helpful hints regarding roach control.

Q
No scoop included in our Cyper WP.

What size scoop should we have to use? We have searched through the powder with a gloved hand. We are treating for spiders, so need 2 scoops per gallon. What would be the equivalent in tsp. or Tablespoons? thank you!

A
We video tape every order as it is being packed for quality control. We went back and reviewed the video of your order being packed and can see that the order packer just placed the scoop into the large shipping box, it was not placed inside the Cyper WP tub. If you still have the shipping box you may want to look inside and under the flaps for the scoop (it is made of a translucent plastic). If you have already tossed the box you can use this guide: 1 scoop is the equivalent to 2 level tablespoons so you will need to use 4 level tablespoons per gallon.

Q
Can this product be used with a hose end sprayer?

I understand the instructions of use with a canister sprayer. Can this product be used with a hose end sprayer, i.e. Ortho Dial 'N Spray, to cover a larger area quickly? I was specifically thinking to use it the hose end sprayer to create the 6-10 foot barrier around house. I thought the powder could be per-mixed with some water in the sprayer's container, thereby making a concentrate. Is that a viable approach? What would the application rate per gallon need to be?

A
Cyper WP and other wettable powders are not generally great formulations to use in hose end sprayer because they can clog the sprayer and most hose end sprayers are not calibrated for use with wettable powders. Typically you would want to apply 1 gallon of diluted solution per 1000 square feet of yard.  Each gallon would have one scoop of Cyper WP.  So, if your yard was 2000 square feet, you would place two scoops of Cyper WP in the hose end sprayer, then fill the hose end sprayer to the 2 gallon mark with water.  This should apply one scoop per gallon of water over 1000 square feet.
