Dekko silverfish bait packs are an economic and easy way to control silverfish. Silverfish simply eat through the pack and ingest the poision inside. Place two to three packs in each infested area you are trying to control. Silverfish may take several days to a few weeks to control, depending on conditions. Pack of 24.
Place in closets, drawers, bookcases, basements, garages and other dark hidden places. Each pack lasts up to 4 months.
* Silverfish eat paper and glue with great gusto! Dekko Silverfish Paks attacks them by infusing the boric acid, paper pack and glue with an attractant that is irresistible to the critters and kills them quickly once consumed. Unlike powders, Dekko Silverfish Paks are clean, won’t leave residue on your hands, or in locations where they are placed. In the case of severe infestation, complete control may take from 3 days to 4 weeks depending upon conditions.
* Don’t open or crush individual packages. Silverfish show up most often in dark, dry areas. Place 2 or 3 packs in each infested area or location where silverfish might show up. In addition to drawers, closets, bookcases, basements and garages, use these packs in the attic and under the house. They will solve your silverfish problems quickly. If you don’t have the critters – and most folks do but don’t know it until the numbers get really large – Dekko Silverfish Paks will insure you don’t get the problem. An ounce or 2 of prevention is worth many pounds of aggravation.

They really work!
By Gloria on January 28, 2007This was my second order for the Dekko Silverfish Packs. I remember many years ago having them and came upon an old packet (very old) and found the name of the company on it and the rest is history. I didn't get enough the first time so I got a bigger package this time. They really work. Thanks for the fast delivery.

Did not work for me
By Jennie on August 2, 2008I found that the silverfish were breeding in the packs. The package says good for 3 months since date of packaging. Since there is no way to know when the package was made, it seems possible the ones I got had already deteriorated on the shelf. In any event, this is not the way to get rid of an infestation.

Works great!
By SJ on June 18, 2007Thanks for the tips on my previous order a while back - these Dekko Silverfish Packs work great and the granular bait worked great! We are doing some remodeling and found lots of bug carcasses - the basement is not nearly as scary a place anymore. Thanks again.

Placed several full boxes of these in areas where we were seeing silverfish. Overnight, I found dead ones. Now several weeks later, I've only see a couple, so I believe they're doing the job.

Unsuccessful in my apartment, so far...

I received this product Feb. 28, 2013 and immediately scattered the packets around my kitchen tile - the only place where I see the creepy little buggers. I witnessed an interested silverfish perched on top of a packet the next day and had high hopes! But to date, I still need to be within reach of a swatter or a wet paper towel every evening. :-(

Dekko Silverfish Packs
By R. on February 12, 2013Dekko Silverfish Packs are very effective at eradicating pesky silverfish. Our Florida villa is not used during the summer months and the recycled, blown in attic insulation attracts silverfish, which migrate down into the living areas because of the increased moisture from cooking, showers, etc. We uy fresh Dekko Paks and plac them in pairs around the house. The silverfish disappear in two to three weeks and cease to be an annoyance. Best prices are at DoMyOwnPestControl.com and delivery is prompt. Highly recommend the company and the product.

September 29, 2009Jessica asked:
QWhere do Silverfish come from and how do I get rid of silverfish?
I see these silverfish most commonly in our bathroom and daughters room across the hall. Is this normal for this type of bug and secondly where are they coming from? Inside or coming in from the outside air ducts?
ASilverfish can come in from the outside around your foundation or they can be brought in from boxes or other stored products. They will hang out inside wall voids but are very commonly found in bathrooms and attics when they come out to forage for food and water. They will eat glue and adhesives in dresser drawers, bookshelves and bookcases, paintings, etc. We recommend our Silverfish Kit for complete control of these pests.
February 21, 2010Brett asked:
QWill silverfish eat drywall paper and tape?
Will silverfish eat drywall paper and tape? I have one wall in the bedroom between a corner and a window that the tape joints have deteriorated and when I chipped at them with my finger a silverfish came out. What happens to the silverfish after they eat the Dekko silverfish pack?
ASilverfish are known to eat the adhesive that is used on tape and on the drywall paper. The Dekko Silverfish paks are formulated with the active ingredient boric acid. While Dekko is safe to use around people and pets it is deadly to insects and soon after the silverfish ingest the boric acid they will die.
May 23, 2010Melissa asked:
QWhat is the shelf life of the Dekko Silverfish Packs?
I've seen that the packs usually last 4 months once laid out but I recently found a box of packs in a closet. I'm not sure how long they have been in there, maybe up to 4 years. Would these baits still be good? Thanks!
AAccording to the manufacturer, as long as they stay dry, Dekko Silverfish paks will remain effective indefinitely.
March 27, 2010Brandy asked:
QIs it safe to place Dekko Silverfish Packs in air vents?
AWe would not suggest placing Dekko Silverfish Packs inside air vents. It is not permissible on the product label to place the packs in vents, but normally that would not be a hiding place for silverfish anyways. Normal harborage areas for silverfish are closets, drawers, bookcases, basements, garages and other dark hidden places.

QMy dog chewed on a Dekko Silverfish Pack, what should i do?
A Any time a pet eats any type of insecticide you should contact your veterinarian. Be sure to have the product label ready as the veterinarian will need to know what ingredients were ingested by your pet. We always have all of the product labels available on our site for your convenience. Boric Acid, the active ingredient in the Dekko silverfish paks, has a low acute toxicity. Small amounts e.g., a teaspoon) swallowed accidentally are not likely to cause effects but you should still check with your vet.
July 23, 2011Nadeem asked:
QHow long before we should dispose of old silverfish packets?
How do i know when i need to throw out old packets? Will the packet look eaten through and is that when they should be thrown out?
ADekko Silverfish packs are good for one year from the date of purchase in the box. When you take the packs out of the box to use in your home, they are good for 3 to 4 months. They should be replaced every 3 to 4 months whether they looked used or not.
August 1, 2010Phil asked:
QAren't the packs too thin for a silverfish to get inside to eat?
Up for a middle of the night bathroom visit, I saw an adult silverfish next to one of the Dekko Silverfish packs that we had just put out. It appeared to crawl away rather than eat the bait. The size of the silverfish looked bigger than the room between the top and bottom of the pack. Will the packs still work with larger adult silverfish?
AThe Dekko Silverfish packs are plenty big for all silverfish. It probably got spooked because you were in the bathroom. The manufacturer assured us it is effective for all sizes of silverfish.
September 29, 2010Young asked:
QDo the Dekko Silverfish Packs work for firebrats?
AAlthough the Dekko Silverfish Packs are labeled for firebrats, typically a spray will work better for firebrats than a bait. We would recommend treating with Cy-Kick aerosol because it is safe to use around children and pets, yet still very effective. It leaves a residual so it will kill long after it dries. Direct the spray underneath and behind appliances and in cracks and crevices like baseboards and where pipes go into the wall underneath sinks and behind toilets.

QAre Dekko Silverfish Paks safe for kitchen cabinets where dishes are stored?
My concern is does the silverfish die inside the pack once he has ingested the poison or would there be danger of the silverfish coming out of the pack and spreading the poison onto my dishes as he crawls around before hopefully dying.
AThe silverfish eat the bait on the Dekko Silverfish Pak and then they are free to move on. Dekko paks are not "traps" they are just bait. We recommend that you use insect glue boards in your cabinets if you are worried that the silverfish may eat the bait and then touch your dishes. Glue boards that are placed in cabinets directly into the travel path of insects are highly effective.
August 19, 2009Lily asked:
QAre the Dekko Silverfish Packs safe to use in kitchen cabinets around dishes?
AYes, the Dekko Silverfish Packs do not release or emit any type of chemical into the air or the surrounding area, so it is perfectly safe to place these in any drawer or cabinet, even if there are food dishes in the area. You would just want to make sure that the pack was placed in the corner of the cabinet, and didnt have a chance of somehow falling in any food that was going to be eaten.
August 19, 2010Roberta asked:
QAre Dekko Silverfish Packs safe to use if I have pet birds?
AYes. You can simply place the Dekko Silverfish Packs in areas that are inaccessible to the birds such as under counters, behind book shelves and in storage areas.
