Dekko silverfish bait packs are an economic and easy way to control silverfish. Silverfish simply eat through the pack and ingest the poision inside. Place two to three packs in each infested area you are trying to control. Silverfish may take several days to a few weeks to control, depending on conditions. Pack of 24.
Place in closets, drawers, bookcases, basements, garages and other dark hidden places. Each pack lasts up to 4 months.
* Silverfish eat paper and glue with great gusto! Dekko Silverfish Paks attacks them by infusing the boric acid, paper pack and glue with an attractant that is irresistible to the critters and kills them quickly once consumed. Unlike powders, Dekko Silverfish Paks are clean, won’t leave residue on your hands, or in locations where they are placed. In the case of severe infestation, complete control may take from 3 days to 4 weeks depending upon conditions.
* Don’t open or crush individual packages. Silverfish show up most often in dark, dry areas. Place 2 or 3 packs in each infested area or location where silverfish might show up. In addition to drawers, closets, bookcases, basements and garages, use these packs in the attic and under the house. They will solve your silverfish problems quickly. If you don’t have the critters – and most folks do but don’t know it until the numbers get really large – Dekko Silverfish Paks will insure you don’t get the problem. An ounce or 2 of prevention is worth many pounds of aggravation.

They really work!
By Gloria on 01/28/2007
This was my second order for the Dekko Silverfish Packs. I remember many years ago having them and came upon an old packet (very old) and found the name of the company on it and the rest is history. I didn't get enough the first time so I got a bigger package this time. They really work. Thanks for the fast delivery.

Did not work for me
By Jennie on 08/02/2008
I found that the silverfish were breeding in the packs. The package says good for 3 months since date of packaging. Since there is no way to know when the package was made, it seems possible the ones I got had already deteriorated on the shelf. In any event, this is not the way to get rid of an infestation.
These paks do not have an expiration date and do not deteriorate. The product label says to replace the paks every 3 - 4 months from date of purchase.

Thanks for the tips on my previous order a while back - these Dekko Silverfish Packs work great and the granular bait worked great! We are doing some remodeling and found lots of bug carcasses - the basement is not nearly as scary a place anymore. Thanks again.
So far, so good

We've tried everything to get rid of silverfish in our bedroom/bathroom, but nothing worked! We had an exterminator spray, tried diatomaceous earth, etc. but were still finding evidence of the pests. So we tried Dekko and haven't seen ONE silverfish (well, really their exoskeleton) since!! I'm seriously so grateful that we found this product. I hadn't been sleeping in my bed for a month due to the problem, because unfortunately I'd found some (not the live silverfish, but the exoskeleton) in my hair when I woke up in the morning (freaky!). Thank you Dekko for this amazing product! I'll be buying a regular supply to keep them away.

While they don't completely eradicate the annoying pest, the packs manage to keep them under control in a safe, easy manner. I have been using them for several years now. I Also like is that they are not messy at all. Very reasonably priced.
Long-time remedy for an age-old problem
By Dave in La Mesa on 10/24/2016
My wife and I purchased these silverfish packs from the grocery store to remedy the problem of these slippery little devils, running all over the house when we first purchased our mid-century home in 1982. They worked wonders back then, but lost their potency over the years and we hadn't been able to find a source to buy them again...until now. They work as well now as I remember them working back then. They are fantastic, if you ask me. It's been 2 weeks since setting them around the house and no sign of slippery little devils anywhere.
Dekko Silverfish Packs
By Larry in Long Beach on 10/09/2016
The question isn't if the Dekko packs work. The question is are the silverfish eating into the pack. I don't have a big problem with silverfish, but when I see them I don't evidence that they are very interested in eating from the packs. I don't know if it is the location they are placed or something else.

QWhat is the shelf life of the Dekko Silverfish Packs?
I've seen that the packs usually last 4 months once laid out but I recently found a box of packs in a closet. I'm not sure how long they have been in there, maybe up to 4 years. Would these baits still be good? Thanks!
AAccording to the manufacturer, as long as they stay dry, Dekko Silverfish paks will remain effective indefinitely.
QWill silverfish eat drywall paper and tape?
I have one wall in the bedroom between a corner and a window that the tape joints have deteriorated and when I chipped at them with my finger a silverfish came out. What happens to the silverfish after they eat the Dekko Silverfish pack?
ASilverfish are known to eat the adhesive that is used on tape and on the drywall paper. The Dekko Silverfish Packs are formulated with the active ingredient boric acid. While Dekko is safe to use around people and pets, it is deadly to insects and soon after the silverfish ingest the boric acid they will die.
QMy dog chewed on a Dekko Silverfish Pack, what should i do?
A Any time a pet eats any type of insecticide you should contact your veterinarian. Be sure to have the product label ready as the veterinarian will need to know what ingredients were ingested by your pet. We always have all of the product labels available on our site for your convenience. Boric Acid, the active ingredient in the Dekko silverfish paks, has a low acute toxicity. Small amounts e.g., a teaspoon) swallowed accidentally are not likely to cause effects but you should still check with your vet.

QHow long before we should dispose of old silverfish packets?
How do i know when i need to throw out old packets? Will the packet look eaten through and is that when they should be thrown out?
ADekko Silverfish packs are good for one year from the date of purchase in the box. When you take the packs out of the box to use in your home, they are good for 3 to 4 months. They should be replaced every 3 to 4 months whether they looked used or not.
QAren't the packs too thin for a silverfish to get inside to eat?
Up for a middle of the night bathroom visit, I saw an adult silverfish next to one of the Dekko Silverfish packs that we had just put out. It appeared to crawl away rather than eat the bait. The size of the silverfish looked bigger than the room between the top and bottom of the pack. Will the packs still work with larger adult silverfish?
AThe Dekko Silverfish packs are plenty big for all silverfish. It probably got spooked because you were in the bathroom. The manufacturer assured us it is effective for all sizes of silverfish.
QHow should used or old Silverfish Packs be deposed of?
A You can simply throw the used Dekko†Packs into the trash. No special disposal is required.

QWhere to the silverfish go after they eat the bait? Are there carcasses to pick up?
AAfter eating the Dekko Silverfish packs, depending on how much they consume, they will die in various places. It is possible to have carcasses to pick up, but you may not have any. They could go into wall voids or die in the middle of the floor. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QI see a lot of silverfish in my bathroom?
Now after reading the reviews, I realize that I have very old wallpaper in my bathroom, so this means that the silverfish are feeding it. Should I remove all the wallpaper?
ASilverfish normally live outdoors under rocks, bark, and leaves. When silverfish are found indoors, they prefer moist places such as basements, bathtubs, laundry rooms, sinks and kitchens. However, they may also be found near food sources including book shelves, behind baseboards and wallpaper, and around window and door frames. We recommend treating your home with our Get Rid of Silverfish Kit. We cannot tell you to remove the wallpaper nor can we tell you to keep it. We can only give pest control advice and product recommendations. They will eat the wallpaper glue and they do eat paper. If it is heavily damaged it can be removed.

QCan I use the Dekko Silverfish Packs outdoors?
ADekko Silverfish Packs are intended for dark indoor spaces where silverfish hide. We recommend using a liquid insecticide such as Bifen IT for an indoor crack and crevice application and outdoor exterior treatment of silverfish. Both products are included in our Get Rid of Silverfish Kit that also includes a bait granular.

QHave Silverfish from attic to basement, and have 5 cats. What to use?
Have boxes of paper files. Need help.
APlease review our Silverfish Control page. We recommend since you have cats to use a product like Suspend SC. Suspend SC leaves a clear residual on surfaces that keeps on killing pests for up to 3 months. You can use this product indoors along cracks and crevices and outdoors 2-3 feet up and out all the way around the perimeter of the structure. This product is safe for people and pets to be around after it has dried. For your attic, a lot of folks like to use the Dekko Silverfish Traps.
QAre Dekko Silverfish Paks safe for kitchen cabinets where dishes are stored?
My concern is does the silverfish die inside the pack once he has ingested the poison or would there be danger of the silverfish coming out of the pack and spreading the poison onto my dishes as he crawls around before hopefully dying.
AThe silverfish eat the bait on the Dekko Silverfish Pak and then they are free to move on. Dekko paks are not "traps" they are just bait. We recommend that you use insect glue boards in your cabinets if you are worried that the silverfish may eat the bait and then touch your dishes. Glue boards that are placed in cabinets directly into the travel path of insects are highly effective.
QDo the Dekko Silverfish Packs work for firebrats?
AAlthough the Dekko Silverfish Packs are labeled for firebrats, typically a spray will work better for firebrats than a bait. We would recommend treating with Cy-Kick aerosol because it is safe to use around children and pets, yet still very effective. It leaves a residual so it will kill long after it dries. Direct the spray underneath and behind appliances and in cracks and crevices like baseboards and where pipes go into the wall underneath sinks and behind toilets.
QAre Dekko Silverfish Packs safe to use if I have pet birds?
AYes. You can simply place the Dekko Silverfish Packs in areas that are inaccessible to the birds such as under counters, behind book shelves and in storage areas.
QIs it safe to place Dekko Silverfish Packs in air vents?
AWe would not suggest placing Dekko Silverfish Packs inside air vents. It is not permissible on the product label to place the packs in vents, but normally that would not be a hiding place for silverfish anyways. Normal harborage areas for silverfish are closets, drawers, bookcases, basements, garages and other dark hidden places.
