The new, improved formulation for DELTAGARD® G Insecticide with DeltaGard delivers the strength of DeltaGard brand deltamethrin in a new water-dispersible carrier to provide quick knockdown and lasting control of ants and other crawling insects. Its smaller granule size enables easier calibration and spreading, and provides better coverage. In fact, its granules fall through vegetative cover and heavy mulch to effectively treat hard-to-reach areas where pests may be foraging, trailing, or nesting.
DeltaGard G does not have the potential to stain concrete or damage plants. And it even resists particle damage until water is added. Its cost-effective low application rate protects up to 10,000 square feet with a single 20-pound bag. The formulation has virtually no odor after application, and is available in new resealable plastic bags.
Delta Gard has the same active ingredient as Suspend SC insecticide, but in a granular form.
DeltaGard G Granules can be used as a perimeter barrier or as a broadcast treatment over your entire yard and landscaped areas. We recommend using DeltaGard Granules with an Earthway spreader. One 20 lb. bag covers up to 10,000 square feet. Always read the label.
Tips for Use:
- DELTAGARD G can be applied to home lawns for general lawn surface feeding insect pests and for perimeter pests. The rate is 2 to 3 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Granules can be applied with conventional spreaders or equivalent equipment, such as shaker cans.
- For lawn applications, optimum results are achieved when the granules are watered into the turf.
- For perimeter applications, treat a band 5 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the building.
- For ant mounds and nests and digger wasp ground nests, sprinkle 1 to 2 teaspoons over the nest.
- Red imported fire ant mounds can be treated with up to 1 teaspoon over each mound, and up to 2 feet around each mound. One gallon of water lightly sprinkled over the mound will dissolve the granules and improve control.

Product really works
By Walter in New Orleans, La. on 05/17/2009
I used DeltaGard G Granules when I returned home after evacuating from New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. It was truly amazing how quickly and effectively the granules eliminated the flea, tick, and cockroach infestation that overwhelmed this entire area. I strongly recommend this product to any consumer seeking to make your living area and grounds safer and more healthy for you and your pets. I continue to use it periodically with outstanding results.

DeltaGard G Granules
By Janice in Buckeye, AZ on 08/09/2010
I bought my first order last year. Had an influx of scorpions and got on line to DoMyOwnPestControl. They had videos on how to use the products that they sold and what they would do. Armed with that much needed information, I ordered the products that I used got rid of 99% of the horrible little scorpions, and had a few show up this year so I reordered. It worked. What more can you ask from a company or a product? I will order again in the future.

Great Product !!
By Roland in The Villages, Lady Lake,FL on 07/27/2011
I have been using DeltaGard for the past 4-5 years. It was recomended by a pest control tech. (I won't name). In Florida bugs are everywhere and get into your house through every crack. Since using DeltaGard I have had NO bugs. I have also spread it around my neighbor's house and she also no longer has any kinds of bugs getting into her house. won't use anything else. A Great and effective product that does what it says it will.

Gets the job done

I have been using this stuff ever since I cancelled Terminix over a year ago and it works great. This saves me a ton of money versus paying someone to do it for me.

doesn't seem to finish the job
By Becky in Rusk, TX on 11/12/2015
Better than any product we've tried so far on TX leaf cutter ants, but so far, it only seems to deter them, maybe kills a few, but mostly just makes them move. Unless the product is used once a week, they return in force. We have been using it 5 months & still have ants. Very disheartening.

DeltaGard G granules
By Reg in Goodyear, AZ on 02/22/2014
Easily distributed with broadcast style seed spreader and waters in quickly. Seems to have great control of virtually everything. I use this along with spraying Cykick CS on the lower foundation as a barrier around our home which eliminates the need to do anything inside the house.

This is a great product that I use to control leaf cutter ants. These little horrors can eat an entire garden in a few days and DeltaGard G is the only product that I have found so far which seems to control them somewhat. Because there are so many of them in our area there always seems to be more that appear but this seems to help keep them at bay enough to allow us to garden and have plants around! Although you can never totally win the war this helps you win a lot of battles.

I could not believe how fast we got rid of the fire ants after one "heavy" application at one of our rental properties where the yard was over run with fire ants. So far we have not seen any new mounds. I have used the same product at our house as well with the same great results.

Purchased 2 bags to treat approximately 15000 sqft future building site that was covered with small black ants and large red ants. Treated the area using a Scott's SpeedyGreen 2000 and threw a extra hand full on the the red ant nests. Finished spreading just as it started to rain. When I returned a few days later, it was if I had not treated at all. In fact, the large red ants had moved the granules away from their entrance hole. $80 wasted.

Scorpions in Southeast Kansas
By Perry in Wichita, Ks. on 12/05/2011
We have a cabin built on a concrete slab in Chautauqua county in Southeast Kanas. We invested lots of time and effort (and money) to build this weekend retreat...and I'll be darned if I'm going to let pests spoil our cabin. I've been using the DeltaGard granules around the outside. I use a hand broadcast spreader and walk very slowly around the foundation. I even put in on the front porch. It's not unusual to find 3 or 4 dead scorpions a day or two later. I'll repeat this about every 40 days or after a heavy rain. On the inside (living area) I've been using the Cyonara spray along the baseboards and the Delta Dust in any crevises. In the garage I use the Cyper W/P. If any scorpions make it in, they're usually dead within 2' or less of the exterior walls. I also use this on the exterior of the cabin. It's an "on-going process", for sure....but it works. This area of the state has lots of oak timber and rocks, making it a "haven" for scorpions, spiders, centipedes, etc.

Good Product, Good Service, Good Price
By Rob in Phoenix, Arizona on 02/08/2011
I have had the opportunity to use both DoMyOwnPestControl and DeltaGard G Granules for several years. Over the past 6 years of nearly monthly use, the number of scorpions and crickets that we see have significantly dropped.

QHow long do we need to wait before the dogs can go back to the treated area after applying DeltaGard G Granules?
A Pets are permitted back in the treated area immediately after application. DeltaGard G Granules are a pet and children safe product when applied correctly because it is broadcast over lawn and garden areas and is applied in a small quantity.

QWhat do you recommend for leaf cutter ants?
ALeaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites Maxforce Complete Bait Granules containing hydramethylnon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. Deltagard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.
QI live in Lancaster, Pa. We have a problem with cockroaches. They are referred to as Asian water bugs.
Will DeltaGard G Granules take care of my problem with the cockroaches in my yard, around my patio, deck and in the mulch? Will all of the products in this category work on the roaches. Most of the reviews seem to be re: ants...
ADeltaGard G Granules is labeled for roaches and should work fine for controlling them. You would want to apply every 2 to 3 months and make sure you water in the granules for faster results once you apply it. You can also apply before a rain event instead of watering the granules in yourself.

QAre Deltagard G granules effective for a scorpion problem?
I have read on many forums that people combine cy-kick with delta granules for a scorpion problem. Do the granules work well?
AWhile Deltagard granules are not labeled to kill scorpions directly the product will help get rid of many other insects which the scorpions use as their food source. When the other insects are gone the scorpions will naturally find your property less favorable and will move on to better hunting grounds or face starvation. Cy-Kick CS on the other hand should be used as a barrier spray around your home and any scorpion that ventures onto the treated area will be killed. By using these two products together you will be putting together a strong scorpion control program. Controlling scorpions will require a combination of both chemical and non-chemical measures. Please take a few minutes to read our article Scorpion Control to learn more ways to make your property less favorable to scorpions.

QIs Delta Guard a Bait for roaches?
ADeltaGard is not a bait, it is an insecticide granule that is broadcast outside and then watered in. DeltaGard is labeled to help control roaches that cross over areas that have been treated with the product. If you are looking for a bait granule for roaches you can use Advion Insect Granule Bait, Maxforce XComplete Granular Bait or Intice Fine Granular Bait.

QHow to address digger bees? Our entire yard, about an acre, is infested with digger bees....thousands of holes. It has become a safety issue for kids and dogs. Any recommendations for a granular product for a large area?
AIt sounds like they could possibly be Cicada Killers. To treat Cicada Killers, you can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps. Cicada Killer wasps thrive in disturbed environments, such as landscaped yards and places where bare soil is exposed. For prevention, you can try to use a granular insecticide such as Talstar PL Granules in the couple of weeks before this pest is known to emerge. For current infestations, you would need to use Delta dust in each individual burrow.

QI live in Virginia with lots of Harvester Ant mounds. How effective is DeltaGard against Harvester Ants?
ADeltaGard is effective against Harvester ants if you can locate and treat the nest directly. Be sure to use at least 2 teaspoons per mound and water in.

QWhat is best spider and mosquito killer?
I habe 10,000 sq ft yard - swimming pool but no other standing water - lots of spiders in pool in summer, jumping spiders etc can't enjoy a lie on a raft what kills them and large mosquito population as we live backed up to wooded area - what is best a. granular and b. liquid type applications to kill both these insects?
ADeltaGuard G Granules would be a great choice for outdoor perimeter or broadcast applications to control spiders along with many other insects. Also, Talstar P is the premier liquid concentrate for mosquito control. You would simply mix 1 oz of Talstar P per gallon of water and spray bushes, shrubs, and low lying tree branches paying close attention to the underside of the leaves. Both the DelatGuard G and Talstar P would be a great product to use in the areas you specified. Your are not spraying the water directly and only spraying around the plants, cracks and crevices. Run Off is not an issue as long the treated area is allowed to dry before rain. Such a small amount of active ingredient is left after dilution. Only enough to harm small insects. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

QDoes this control DeltaGard G Granules - 20 lb. bag chiggers, fleas and ticks? Asian Lady Beetles?
Bad couple years for fleas, ticks and a big issue every year on asian lady beetles. Meds for our dogs and cats become unaffected due to the increase of the pest.

QWe keep chickens for their eggs and our chickens eat pests in the yard we are treating.
We are primarily treating the yard because of ticks. If the chickens feed on the ticks and other pests from the treated yard, is it safe to eat the eggs or will the poison be transferred to the eggs we eat?
AUnless the chickens are consuming the DeltaGard G directly there should be no effect on the bird or their eggs. You must make sure your chickens are out of the area while you apply DeltaGard G and then they can return to the area as soon as it is dry after irrigating the product in.

QCan DeltaGard Granules be used on concrete and around a built in BBQ to control crickets
We have a custom built outdoor BBQ with ledgerstone on all 4 sides. Crickets love to hide among the cracks and crevices of the ledgerstone, then come out at night and infest the top of the grill...just wondering if applying DeltaGard around the structure and underneath the grill would kill them. The grill is on top of a concrete slab.
ANo, DeltaGard G Granules cannot be used on concrete areas. DeltaGard G Granules are only labeled to be used in lawns, ground covers, and perimeter treatments in soily areas. In this instance I would recommend Alpine WSG instead. Alpine WSG (water soluble granule) is a non-pyrethroid, non-repellent broad spectrum insecticide that uses the active ingredient Dinotefuran. Dinotefuran has been granted Reduced Risk status for public health use by the EPA. Alpine WSG can be used in attics and eaves; on exterior hard surfaces like sidewalks, driveways, patios and porches. You would simply mix one packet per gallon of water and spray the treatment area. Allow the treated are to fully dry before re-entry.

QHow often to reapply DeltaGard to a lawn using a broascast spreader
I am unable to find how often DeltaGard G needs to be applied to a lawn. The bag says at least a week apart, but not how many applications are needed in a given season. I live in Houston, Texas.

QI raise caterpillars that eat Pipevine. My pest control guy laid Delta Gard around the perimeter (cont. below)
of my house and it got into the Pipevine, poisoning the caterpillars. My fault, I should have thought of this. My question is, how long before the ground and the Pipevine are safe again for caterpillars and insects?
AWe do know that the residual of DeltaGard G Granules is 2-3 months. However, we recommend contacting Bayer 800-331-2867 to determine when it will be safe for the catepillars again.
QIs DeltaGard G Granules effective for ticks? Can I use DeltaGard Granules inside?
A DeltaGard G Granules cannot be used indoors. Granule insecticides need to be watered in to be activated, something you would not be able to do in the house. Indoors you could use a product like Onslaught or Tengard SFR to control ticks. DeltaGard G Granules can be used to help eliminate ticks outdoors. You can read how to properly apply DeltaGard G Granules for tick control on page 5 of the product label on our website.

QHow far away from vegetables / nut/fruit trees do you have to be when applying DeltaGard G Granules?
AThe manufacturer states that when applying DeltaGard G Granules, you should apply them at least 10 feet away from a garden or the root line of a fruit/nut bearing tree. DeltaGard G Granules bonds to the top of the surface and will not get down in the roots, but 10 feet away is a good practice.
