    Q
Is Demand CS effective on brown recluse spiders?
    A

Demand CS would be a great choice for brown recluse spider control as well as general insect control. Brown Recluse spiders are very scary to have in your house, but they are no harder to get rid of than any other spider. The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Demand CS would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. Spraying Demand CS will also help to get rid of the other insects (silverfish, sow bugs aka rollie pollies and millipedes) that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving inside. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

    Q
What mix rate of Demand CS do you recommend for scorpions. Also anything better recommended for scorpions?
    A

For Scorpion control you would want to use either 12ml or 24ml per gallon of water depending on how heavy the infestation is in your area/yard. Demand CS will help prevent scorpion infestations of buildings, treat a band of soil 6 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the building. Also treat the building foundation to a height of 2 to 3 feet where pests are active and may find entrance. Treat other insect entry points such as doors, windows, under siding and eaves of structure. Apply in sufficient water to adequately cover the area being treated.

Getting rid of scorpions requires a combination of both chemical and non-chemical measures. Think of non-chemical measures (such as vacuuming, sanitation, harborage removal, and exclusion) as limiting or removing conditions that contribute to the infestation. These measures are largely preventative but scorpion control cannot be achieved without them. The next step is to come in with the real ammunition, chemical pesticides, that do the job of physically wiping out an infestation.

    Q
Will Demand CS harm pets that roll in the grass after it dries?
After reading the reviews, I am interested in purchasing the Demand CS product for use around my home. I live next to a cornfield and it provides us with a bevy of insects of all shapes and sizes (thousand-leggers, ants, spiders, earwigs, etc) . I just wanted to be sure that if I spray the product on the outside of home, my dogs would be fine playing and laying in the yard once the product dries.
    A
Demand CS is labeled for use on lawns and should pose no issues for your pets once it has dried.

    Q
What's the difference between Patrol insecticide and Demand CS?
    A

Patrol Insecticide was a limited release proprietary brand that would not be available to the general public. If you have used Patrol in the past, then Demand CS can be used in the same ways in accordance with the product label with the same results.

    Q
Which is better for spiders and overall bug control, Talstar P or Demand CS?
    A

Both Talstar P and Demand CS are labeled for a wide variety of insect pests and either would work well for general pest control.  However, if spiders are a concern, or if you will be treating mainly outdoors, it would be better to choose a microencapsulated insecticide such as Demand CS.  Microencapsulated products will hold up better outdoors, and their larger particle size makes them easier for larger insects like spiders and scorpions to pick up on their bodies.

    Q
What is the concentration of Demand CS for Stink bugs; they are NOT on the label.
    A
Stinkbugs are not on many product labels because to add them to the label of an existing product Such as Demand CS would cost the manufacturer hundreds of thousands of dollars and force them to go through the re-registration process with the EPA. We recommend you use the higher usage rate for this hardy pest 0.8 fl. oz. (24 mL) per gallon of water for best results.

    Q
How far away does Demand have to be sprayed to not kill my honey bee hive.
    A
You can reduce the risk to your bees by keeping applications away from areas where the bees are actively foraging and at times when the bees are not active in general. You may also consider using Mavrik Perimeter insecticide for outdoor pests, which is non-repellent and non-toxic to honeybees after it is dried. You will want to read the product label to see if this fits your needs.

    Q
Dose Demand CS kill bed bug eggs?
    A

Demand CS would not kill bed bug eggs as it is not a contact kill.  However Bedlam and Bedlam Plus are labeled to kill both Bed Bugs and their eggs.  You should note that even products that are labeled to kill bedbug eggs are not able to kill 100% of the eggs and you will still be required to do follow up treatments every 7-10 days until no further evidence (bites, blood stains, cast skins, fecal deposits) of bedbugs is noticed.

Can or should I use Demand CS with Delta dust for carpenter bees?
    A

  • Asked by Irma from Chicago

    Q
Will Demand CS kill carpenter ants?
I'm seeing carpenter ants around my property (just like 2-3 a day). First is Demand CS strong enough to kill them? How will it kill them? And will it eventually wipe out the colony/nest/queen? If so, how long will it take? Thanks
    A
Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated it works a little bit like a time released formula.  Of course it will only kills those pests that contacted a treated surface. We would recommend our most popular carpenter ant control product which is our Carpenter Ant Kit #2.  The Carpenter Ant Kit #2 with Dominion 2L provides the best carpenter ant control available. For serious carpenter ant problems, nothing does the job better adding a product such as Dominion 2L to your arsenal. Dominion is a sprayable liquid bait that makes up to 48 gallons of solution (enough to provide several years of outdoor protection) and can be sprayed around the outside of your home to provide a long-lasting barrier against carpenter ants and other ant species. Ants pick up the Dominion 2L on their bodies and spread it to other ants, eventually eliminating the entire colony. This kit also includes Advance carpenter ant bait for outdoor control/indoor control and Maxforce carpenter ant bait gel for indoor control. The Advance Carpenter Ant Bait is great for sprinkling in a 2 foot barrier around the outside of your home to provide a food source that outside ants are looking for.  It can also be applied around wood piles, trees, stumps, or other areas of harborage.  Advance Carpenter ant bait can also be used indoors in bait plate stations.  The Maxforce Carpenter ant bait is for indoor control only and should be placed where you see ant activity inside.  The ants will eat the bait and take it back to the nest spreading it around to the other colony members. You will need a pressurized garden pump sprayer to apply the Dominion 2L.

    Q
If my mattress and furniture have been sprayed with Demand CS, what concerns should I have?
I was told by a bug expert to spray my mattress. I did so with just the bed bug cover - all bedding was removed. Is it safe for me to sleep on?
    A

No, Demand CS is NOT labeled for applications to mattresses and you should not sleep on it directly now for your safety. If the cover was the only thing treated, we recommend applying a new encasement, new sheets/blankets.

    Q
Is Demand CS better than Suspend Polyzone fo stink bugs
I've great success with Demand CS over the past several years, using it on the outside of my house to kill stink bugs. Suspend Polyzone seems to be a newer alternative. Is it better than Demand CS. Suspend advertises it as lasting longer?
    A
Demand CS is still a great product on stink bugs and other pest. If it is working we recommend to stick with it. Suspend Polyzone has a Polymer protecting the active ingredient which would give  you a longer lasting residual.

    Q
What is a good product to rotate with Demand CS?
I am looking to rotate another pesticide that does not use lambda-cyhalothrin. Demand CS has been wonderful but I do not want insects to build up a tolerance to it's active ingredient. Do you recommend another product that does not use lambda-cyhalothrin that I can rotate in with Demand CS?
    A
We do you could rotate Demand CS with Temprid Sc.  Temprid SC (suspension concentrate) insecticide offers a unique dual mode of action by combining two powerful and effective residual insecticides: beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid -

    Q
What harm does Demand CS cause when sprayed on garden plants and vegetables?

  • Asked by Mike
    05/25/2016
    Q
How can I stop Demand CS from staining the wood floors?
I spay demand sc and it stains the wood floor and base boards. It can then be wiped off but is a pain too do. I used pest tabs in the past and did not have this problem. What should I do to eliminate the stains?
    A

If Demand CS is leaving a visible residue, then we would recommend to use a lower dilution rate (0.2-0.4 oz. per gallon of water). Also, be sure you are only spraying as a spot and/or crack and crevice treatment. You could also consider going to an insecticide that is not micro-encapsulated, such as Talstar P. If you are removing all the reside, then you would need to reapply the insecticide.
