Demize Nylar IGR:
- Apply as carpet spray, crack & crevice, general applications, spot treatment or fogger
Has a 3 to 6 month residual indoors.
Use Demize Nylar IGR in your home 3 to 4 times each year to prevent fleas. This preventative measure guards against flea eggs left in your home from becoming biting, jumping, reproducing adult fleas.
How does Demize Nylar IGR work to get rid of fleas?
The active ingredient in this concentrate is an insect growth regulator. Nylar IGR is similar to insect growth hormones that occur naturally in insects and acts on the immature life stages of the flea, preventing the adult flea from developing. Flea eggs deposited on treated areas will not develop into adult fleas. Flea larvae crawling onto treated surfaces will also not develop into adult fleas. The unique properties of Nylar IGR eliminates the flea population, when used as directed. Nylar IGR causes a gradual reduction and ultimate elimination of the flea population by breaking the reproductive cycle. Nylar IGR terminates the flea life cycle and stops the development of the immature stages of the flea for 210 days preventing them from reaching the biting adult stage. Existing adult fleas and flea pupae are not affected. If a high population of adult fleas are present, the use of an adulticide may be necessary for immediate control. This concentrate may also be combined with a flea adulticide, such as Demize E.C. or Conquer. Nylar IGR compliments the rapid activity of the adulticide by providing long term control of pre-adult fleas before they grow up to be biting adults.
Flea control on pets is important in the prevention of the introduction of adult fleas. Pets, their bedding and the areas they frequent should also be treated with a veterinarian recommended flea and tick control as part of a complete flea control program in conjunction with this application to minimize the introduction of adult fleas.

Henhouse sticktight flea control
By Tom on May 18, 2010
Verified PurchaseI had a really bad infestation in my hen house from stick-tight fleas. I sprayed Demize and Demize Nylar IGR as per the instructions, 5 days later, I sprayed again. Infant fleas kept covering my legs, so I sprayed a mixture of bleach and Dawn. That settled them down so the Nylar could take it's course. It's tricky in a hen house as the top layer of manure is constantly being replaced. So far, so good, just had to let the IGR cycle through. The hens haven't been bothered by the chemicals and it is now 3 weeks later and we seem to be flea free. Good stuff, just be patient.

Nylar IGR - breaking the cycle
By Al on August 18, 2010I had never experienced such a bad infestation of fleas ever before and I knew I would need help eradicating the fleas that had taken over my house. I bombed the house, treated my cats and only a week later discovered that the population was still increasing. After some research it was clear that without IGR my fight would be futile. I ordered the Nylar IGR, because I read that it was effective and odorless. Everything I read about the product was true, this stuff really does what it says and I was able to break the cycle and have gotten the situation back under control. I just wish I had know about IGR before the infestation; ounce of prevention...
Mix with an adulticide
By Joseph on July 10, 2010
Verified PurchaseMix with an adulticide (for ex., Onslaught), spray thoroughly, let it dry before letting people or pets come into contact with it (about four hours), and say goodbye to fleas for three months. This stuff really works. Also, treat the cat or dog with a topical that contains both an adulticide and an IGR (Frontline or Revolution, for instance). Don't use anything with permethrin in it directly on a cat.
Great product!

Verified PurchaseDid the first application less than one month ago and we have already noticed a sharp decrease in the number of fleas. This stuff seems to work incredibly well!

December 5, 2011Eric from Boston, Ma asked:
QCan I use the mixed solution several days later?
The directions for mixing and using this stuff say not to let it stand overnight. What happens if I do? Does it become ineffective? Can I use a batch that I mixed up several days or a week later, if I shake it up good?
AThe longer some concentrated liquids stay in a diluted form the faster they degrade, making them ineffective. Shaking the solution will not help the degraded products work any better. We recommend only mixing up what you can use at one time. Also, storing solutions in your sprayer will cause the seals and gaskets and other pieces in your sprayer to break down.

QAre IGRs safe around my pet cats?
Are IGR's safe around my pet cats? They spend a lot of time inside as they are all older pets. Can it be used in my car without damage to vinal?
ADemize Nylar IGR and IGR's in general are very safe around children and pets because they only effect small insects that go through a complete metamorphasis like fleas and roaches. You should always keep pets and children out of the area while you are treating and then allow them to re-enter once the product has dried which usually takes about 30 minutes. I do not believe there would be any issues applying this product in your vehicle.
September 24, 2009Sandra asked:
QIs Demize Nylar IGR effective outdoors?
If so, how do I apply it? If not, will you recommend an outdoor treatment?
ADemize Nylar IGR is a product that is meant to treat fleas and roaches indoors. Although you could use it outdoors, it is not recommended because it is not formulated to remain effective when it is in sunlight. It breaks down very quickly. We do carry another IGR product that is formulated for outdoors and is photo-stable called Archer IGR. It works the same way as the Demize Nylar IGR, which is to prevent adult fleas and roaches from reproducing. These products are effective in slowing down populations, but you should mix these products with a insecticide for faster knockdown of adult insects such as Conquer or Onslaught. You can mix the Archer IGR and one of the other insecticide products I mentioned in a one gallon hand pump sprayer and apply it over your yard and landscape. All of the products mentioned can also be used indoors as well.
April 21, 2010Ams asked:
QWill Demize Nylar IGR work the 210 days to keep centipedes from coming in my home?
A Demize Nylar IGR will not work to keep centipedes out of your home. This product is an insect growth regulator that helps disrupt the breeding cycle of fleas and certain cockroaches only. Demize Nylar IGR is not an insecticide or an insect repellant. Demand CS would be a good choice to use around the outside of your home to eliminate centipedes. You should apply the product to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, around the bottom of the foundation and out onto the ground directly around the foundation. You can also limit favorable conditions that the centipedes need to thrive.. Remove Favorabe Conditions
