5 of 5 Stars  Great Stuff
By Steven in Athens, ga on April 23, 2013
    Verified Purchase

I have been using the active ingredient Cypermethrin for almost 5 years as an indoor and outdoor pest control product. It is a great chemical and does wonders to control roaches and ants. The residual effect is nice providing for less applications through the year. It also does not afffect my pets who have shown sensitivity to other pesticides.

5 of 5 Stars  Demon EC (Max)
By Lance in Florida (the bug state) on June 26, 2013

I have used this stuff for over 10 years; beginning in a rental house that had sat empty for over 3 years and was full of all manner of creepy crawlies. One application of Demon (the first time I'd used it) and they all died a quick and horrible death, leaving the house bug free and inhabitable. It even de-bugged a 18 year old mobile home I lived in while my current house was being built. It's rare for a product to work as well as advertised, but Demon is the real deal.

5 of 5 Stars  Best I have used so far.
By Stan in Savannah, GA on September 8, 2013

Out of all the products I have tried so far Demon Max has proved to be the best. As a landlord of 72 properties, I have tried many products over the years. Demon Max has been very effective and versatile. It has been mixed to do everything I encounter, RoAcHeS, fleas, termites, spiders and ants.

Highly recommend this product. I have been using Terminex services for years and it is quite expensive. I tried Demon Max and it works perfectly. Roaches are dead outside the house and never make it in. I only have to treat the outside perimeter of my home.

By Kyle in Jacksonville Florida on August 21, 2015

I bought the demon max for a horrendous Tick infestation !!! I have never had such a problem with ticks before this past year and I used the product just like the label advised and within two days my back porch was absolutely covered in dead ticks !!! Thousands of them no exaggeration were all over the concrete I don't know if they tried to crawl out of the grass but the concrete was no relief because I had sprayed it too!! I blew off the porch the next week sprayed again and half as many covered the porch again waited a week and sprayed again but this time there was only a small number of them were found!! I will never use anything eels not only did it kill the target pest it also killed other insects as well as made a huge difference in the amount of Mosquitos in the yard as well!! If you have any sort of insect problem demon max is the answer !!!!

We had a problem with Earwigs... We live in the south with lots of pine straw. Nothing else we had tried (including another product we had ordered from this site) was able to get this particular pest under control. They were driving me crazy. They are SO gross, especially in the kitchen. First application of Demon Max, they were gone. THANK YOU!

By Shanon in Pierre Part, Louisiana on April 24, 2015

I was using this for carpenter bees, wasps and muddabbers on my exposed wood rafters and beams under my house. After spraying everything down it worked great for about two weeks but just as soon as the oder went away all the insects were back again. I may be doing something wrong. I have to say, while the odor is still present there isn't a single insect around.

5 of 5 Stars  Works as Promised or BETTER
By Shannon in Florida on March 13, 2015

I live in Florida and have children and 2 dogs - my backyards have always been a battle ground between fire ants, mole crickets, fleas and the general creepy crawlies in most yards. This stuff has made my yard pest free! No ticks or fleas on my dogs... no fire ants... mole crickets gone! It's been AMAZING! I can't recommend it enough. Been using it for 2 years now - won't use anything else.

February 25, 2013 Amanda from Downsville, La asked:

QWhich is better, Talstar P or Demon Max?
I am trying to control Ants, Mosquitoes, Wasps, Bees, Flea and Ticks. I used Talstar last year and I am just curious on which is better.

ABoth are going to offer a good kill and a long lasting residual though initially Demon Max may have a faster kill because it is oil based. On the other hand because Demon Max is oil based it could stain old paint/siding and it does have an odor.

March 19, 2013 Karen from Kerens, Texas asked:

QSince Demon Max stains, what color is it?

AThe product is a very light tan. It is the oil itself in the product that will stain so in most cases it leaves an oily residue behind which can stain old paint or old siding.

February 12, 2013 Bobby from Nashville asked:

QWhat is the ratio of Demon Max for mosquitoes and how does it compare?
how many oz of demon max do you use per gallon of water for residual mosquito control, how long does it leave a risidual? and how does demon compare to bifen it?

AYou should use 1/2 fl oz of Demon Max per gallon of water for mosquito control and you will need to reapply once per month to maintain control. Bifen IT and Demon Max will have very comparable results for mosquito control though Bifen IT is water based and non-staining and is more widely used by professionals for mosquito control.

February 19, 2013 Heather from Austin Tx asked:

QHow much Demon Max is needed to treat x amount of square feet?
I am just wondering how much to order. I have decks and back up to a large vegetation on a veloway. How often do I need to treat etc. that will help me determine how much to order. Thanks

A

Barrier Treatment for Pests around Structures:

Apply Demon Max as a 0.1% emulsion (1/2 fl oz per gallon of water) to a band of soil and
vegetation 6-10 ft. wide around and adjacent to the structure. Also, treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2-3 ft. Use a treatment volume of 2-10 gal. per 1000 sq. ft.
Higher volumes of water may be needed if mulch or leaf litter is present or dense foliage exists. House siding may be treated if boxelder bugs, elm leaf beetles, earwigs, silverfish
or other similar pests are present. Reapply every 1-3 months as pest pressure builds back up.

Most Recent Customer Questions

July 22, 2015 Shawn from Phoenix, Az asked:

QCan Demon Max be mixed with Talstar/Bifen IT and Cy-Kick CS?
Will it help give Talstar P a longer residual being mixed with an oil base? Will it help to lessen possible resistance by mixing two different insecticides? Should the amount of oz to gal be reduced when mixing the two together in the same tank?

A

Demon Max should not be mixed with Talstar and Cy-Kick CS. Each product should be used alone with water. Mixing insecticides like this could cause the products to be less effective. Cy-Kick CS will give you the longest residual as it is microencapsulated.

July 8, 2015 Dianedu from Cedar City, Utah asked:

QI have been having a problem with earwigs. Would Demon Max be the best product to purchase?
This is our second summer in our home and it is so frustrating having earwigs crawling everywhere. We have sprayed inside, outside, everywhere to no avail....help!

A

Demon Max is a great product to control a broad spectrum of insects including earwigs. We usually do not recommend an oil based product such as Demon Max for indoor use due to temporary staining and odor that it leaves. For indoors, I would recommend using an water based product labeled for earwigs such as Suspend SC, which has virtually no odor or staining. Apply as a coarse, low pressure spot or crack and crevice spray to areas that these pests normally inhabit. Pay particular attention to dark corners of rooms and closets; floor drains; cracks and crevices in walls; along and behind baseboards; beneath and behind sinks, stoves, refrigerators, and cabinets; around plumbing and other utility installations; doors, windows and in attics and crawl spaces. Applications may be made to floor surfaces along baseboards and around air ducts. Let surfaces dry before allowing children or pets to contact surfaces.

If you need anymore information on treating for earwigs, you can read over our guide on How to Get Rid of Earwigs .

July 8, 2015 Jason from N.c Mn asked:

QIs Demon Max safe for poultry? Is it safe for them even after it dries? How long does it take to dry?
We got about 25 chickens, 10 guineas and 8 turkeys that are free range.

A

Demon Max  CANNOT be used in poultry houses. Depending on what you are treating for you, can use Bifen IT, as it is listed on the product label to be used in poultry houses. It can take up to 2 hours to dry. Do not apply where they may graze.

July 4, 2015 Alex from South West, Fl asked:

QI had been using Demon Max outside and inside on floor surfaces. Is it safe to use it on granite countertop?

A Demon Max is only labeled to be used indoors along cracks and crevices and cannot be broadcast over countertops, any food prep surfaces at all, or over floors. Please see the Product Label HERE to review how to properly and safely use the Demon Max for each designated pest you may be treating for.

June 30, 2015 Anne from Elk Ridge asked:

QWill Demon Max kill Box Elder bugs?
Will Demon Max kill Box Elder bugs? If not do you recommend a product that will? What would the mixing ratio be for these annoying bugs!

A Yes, Demon Max is labeled for boxelder bugs. You will mix 1 fl. oz. of product in a gallon of water.

June 16, 2015 David from Dade City, Florida asked:

QWhat is the mixing ratio per gallon for demon max for indoor spray?

A When using Demon Max the dilution rate is normally dependent on the pest you are treating for whether it be indoors or outdoors. For most pests you will dilute Demon Max at the rate of 1/2 ounce per gallon of water, however you can view other dilution rates on the Product Label.

May 27, 2015 Joyce from Madison, Wi asked:

QWhat chemicals are in Demon Max? Want to know how safe this product is around an ill dog?

A Demon Max contains the active ingredient cypermethrin as well as other inert ingredients that are privvy to the manufacturer. We do not recommend applying any products around animals that are ill. You should check with your vet first.

April 25, 2015 Shawna from Safford, Az asked:

Qproduct that lasts outside between applications
Scorpions, spiders, cockroaches, occasional stinkbugs I would like a product that lasts as long as possible. I may need 2 different products. Live in southeastern Arizona where Sun and heat are factors during summer. We also have missions for a couple months, so I may need a different product during that time. Not worried about staining or white powder showing after application. Have 3 pet birds. Would be totally willing to spray one product that is better at killing, waiting for it to dry, then perhaps spraying another product that withstands weather and requires less frequent treatment. Or mixing 2 products if that would help. Also willing to spray one product outside and different one indoors if that would help at all. In addition, I want to mix in an igr for the roaches.

A

Demon Max lasts approximately 30 days outdoors. We would recommend using Suspend Polyzone if you are wanting a longer residual. It also features a proprietary polymer layer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. The residuals outdoors and indoors is about 90 days. This can be used around the perimeter of your home and does dry clear. We would recommend not spraying this while your birds are in the area. They can return once the product dries.

A good IGR (insect growth regulator) is Gentrol IGR. It is labeled to work for up to 4 months for roaches. This can be mixed with insecticides as well in the same sprayer.

April 3, 2015 Jerry from Brainerd,mn. asked:

QWhat is the amount of Demon Max used for mosquito control?
I'm reading the reviews on your product and seeing 1/2 oz. and 1oz. Used per gallon of water we live in Mn. The Mosquitos can be extreme in the summer months.

A The rate you saw of 1/2 oz per gallon is the correct rate per the Demon Max label for mosquitoes. While it does say you can use it at 1 oz per gallon for harder to kill insects like Scorpions, it is not recommended at that rate for mosquitoes. Try to limit moisture areas or standing water on the property as much as possible, spray not just the top but also the underneath side of leave of bushes, trees and other dense foliage on the property where mosquitoes harbor and breed, and consider mixing in an IGR like Nyguard IGR to help stop the reproductive cycle.
