D-FENSE DUST is a ready-to-use insecticide dust which exhibits effective knockdown and residual control against the pests listed when used according to label directions.
D-FENSE DUST can be used for residual pest control in and on buildings and structures and their immediate surroundings.
D-FENSE DUST is intended for applications with hand or power duster, with a paint brush or equivalent means, to hiding and runway areas and other places where insects are found. In living areas, make applications in such a manner as to avoid depositions on exposed surfaces or introducing material into the air.
In the home, all the food processing surfaces and utensils must be covered during treatment or thoroughly washed before use. Exposed food must remain covered or be removed.
To apply insecticide directly into cracks and crevices, use a bulbous duster or suitable equipment. Apply lightly and uniformly to infested area. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices; service ducts; false floors and ceilings; wall voids; around electrical and telephone fittings and equipment; around water and sewer pipes; under and behind cabinets, refrigerators and sinks; around windows and doorframes; along baseboards; in attics and crawl spaces.

By in Chicago, IL on 07/15/2013
I have never slept so well. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I have been battling bedbugs for almost a yr now..and finally after so much cleaning and throwing away, and cleaning some more I gained some peace of mind. I'll still use it as directed, but very happy I purchased it.

Had to remove wooden walkway to locate nest entrance. Got stung once but did locate entryway. Previous to this application of dust through walkway cracks proved unsuccessful. When applied directly into hive, D-fense worked well. However, this is not "fast acting". Took 3-4 days before nest went dormant. Did get the job done...

Didn't Do The Job
By in Edmond, OK on 06/30/2013
I purchased D-Fense Dust mainly for scorpions. To test it's effect, I caught a scorpion, placed it in a container & sprinkled Dust on it. 24 hours later, the scorpion was alive and well. I don't know how well it works on other pests, but it has little or no effect on scorpion.

Great product/website. Need bulb duster for application, available on their website. Hint (best price on web). You will need to drill hole, apply product and plug hole. I personally used colored snap in screw covers (available at home improvement/hardware stores) with corresponding drill bit; as to match interior of patio doors. Thanks!!!

Great for scorpions
By George in Litchfield Park, AZ on 02/13/2013
I live in a Phoenix area scorpion hot spot. They use the block fence columns as scorpion condos. Dusting the column spaces with D-Fense takes care of 90% of my problem. Dusting door thresholds keeps them out of the house or kills them within a few feet from the door.
Great for Scorpion Control
By Ron in Litchfield Park, AZ on 08/14/2012
I have a large yard with desert landscape. And the neighborhood is overrun by scorpions. They use the columns of the block fences like condos. Dusting my fence columns and joints has eliminated 99% of my little intruders. A dusting on the door thresholds keeps the house virtually free of the unwanted guests as well.

Great insecticide. Used it with the B&G Bulb Duster 1150 with great results. One application eliminated 25+ carpenter bees in the 4 active bee holes in my wood deck. Dusted in Fall, when the new bees hatched. Just have to plug the holes.
D-Fense on Yellow Jackets
By Andy in lucas TX on 11/26/2014
I had a yellow jacket nest in the ground behind my house. I found the hole after I got stung. I went out at night and shot a couple of bursts of DF in the hole. No reaction from the YJs. Went out the next day and there were a number of YJs around the hole looking sick. A couple flew out of the hole. Repeated the application that night, shot several bursts right in the hole. The next day some dying by the hole so I gave them another shot. Some days later they are all dead.

Not very effective
By Shaun in evansdale iowa on 06/30/2016
After spreading the dust generously in and around basement several weeks ago we are seeing record amounts of centipedes. I had expected an increase in sightings immediately after application but a quick reduction after several days obviously not getting that. The worst thing is they seem very alive and healthy.

QWhy is D-Fense Dust ban in NY?
is it because is a health hazard?
AD-Fense dust is not banned in NY. Pest control professionals in NY are allowed to use it. We just cannot sell it to unlicensed professionals. It is not our choice. New York lawmakers have passed laws that do not allow homeowners to use professional products. To find products that are approved to ship to NY, please see our New York product page.

QWill D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust harm cats if used outdoors and they come in contact with the over spray?
AYes, D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust is very safe to use indoors and outdoors around pets and children. You should keep children and pets out of the room/area while you are applying the product, and then it is ok to allow them to come back in once you are done. Of course, you want to use common sense and not dust out in the open, but if you apply it into the areas specified on the product label, (cracks and crevices, under appliances, and inside wall voids) there should be no issues. D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust can be harmful if it is ingested by animals. D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust can stay active for several months after the application. We will say that most animals will not eat D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust because there is nothing to attract them to the dust and it would be extremely drying to the inside of their mouths if they did try to eat it. Still, it is best to contact your veterinarian if you think your pet ingested D-Fense Deltamethrin Dust. We have linked the product label and the MSDS in our answer so that you may print them out to give your veterinarian.

QWe have a centipede type worm that has no feelers and when in the area it puts off a urine smell
when killed it curls up and dries up quickly
AWe are stumped as to what the insect might be with your description so we are not sure what to recommend. You can collect a specimen and contact your local cooperative extension office for help with a pest identification. Once you know what the pest is we can better help you select the correct products for your needs.
