    Fast results on dollar spot

    By Jon on 08/23/2011

    Verified Purchase

For the last 2 or 3 years, here in southern MI, we have had unusually cool and wet spring weather...perfect conditions for dollar spot fungus outbreak. Using 8 oz. of docket mixed with 24 oz. water, I treat approx. 7500 sq.ft. using a hose end sprayer set to deliver 3 oz. of mix per gal. of spray for a curative application. I follow up 7 to 10 days later with a preventative application using the same ratio of docket and water with the sprayer set to deliver 1 1/2 oz. per gal. to cover 15000 sq. ft. The follow up application seems to be key.

Thank you for your comments! Please keep in mind that Docket DF and other chlorothalonil products should not be used on Blue Spruce due to bleaching that it causes.

    Daconil Fungicide

    By Jean on 05/21/2012

Delivery of the Daconil was a week, as promised. When I didn't know what dosage to use (because the professional dosages were TOO large), the mfg. co. answered my question beautifully. Good product and advice!

    Generic Daconil

    By Bernie on 05/17/2012

Best buy for Chloro - I use as curative for Brown Patch when I don't catch it soon enough with the preventive. Good quantity for small users wanting a good price on concentrate. Service from DMOPC is stellar.

Q
I have Rhizosphaera needlecast on my spruce trees. How much Docket DF do I need per gal of water?

I am told to use Docket DF, I have a 26 gallon sprayer.

A
Docket DF is not labeled to be used on blue spruces and actually states on the label do not use. The only product that we do carry that does not say it cannot be used on blue spruce for needlecast is the Clearys Spectro.  Please be aware that just because it the product can still bleach the trees which is the problem with most products when using on blue spruce.

Q
Could I use a small spray tank to apply Docket DF?

Some of landscape trees (Cypress) in my backyard are dying with canker (I guess). I'm trying to use this to prevent the disease from spreading to other Cypress trees (I have 7 total). Could I use my small (2 gallon) plastic sprayer with this product? I am not quite sure that the plastic sprayer is strong enough to contact chlorothalonil.

A
It is perfectly fine to use a normal poly sprayer, 1 or 2 gallon size.  It should have no problem handling this product.  Of course you should measure accordingly to the amount of water you are using and then only mix what you plan on using and do not leave the product in the sprayer over night.  Rinse out the sprayer well when you are done and you should be fine.

Which fungicide will treat Scoleriteria fungus on dymondia?
A
Docket DF - Generic Daconil Fungicide would still be one of our top recommendations for treating fungus on Dymondia. You may also want to consult the Master Gardener in your area. You can contact he/she though your Local Cooperative Extension Office.

Q
When does Docket DF become rain-fast? (When it's dry? 1 hour? 1 day?) Great product.
A
As with most insecticides, herbicides and fungicides the product will normally be rain-fast after it has dried on the surface for at least 6 hours. Letting the Docket DF dry before rainfall for at least 24 hours is ideal but always check with the label on each product you are using because some may have longer or shorter periods before water/rain can be applied to the area.
