Jennine from Manley Hot Springs, Alaska writes

Does Alpine Dust work for Carpenter Ants?

We have a carpenter ant infestation in the rafter void of our cathedral ceiling. We've treated the interior & exterior of the house with protein and sweet baits, but the infestation persists so we'd like to dust the void. Delta and Drione are both listed "Not for Sale in AK" and are mildly repellent; but Alpine is non-repellent and doesn't appear to have restrictions in Alaska so we could use it instead as long as it is effective for carpenter ant control.

Answer:

Alpine Dust is labeled for carpenter ants and would be an excellent addition to your treatments. Per the product label: "For ants, apply to ant trails, in openings around doors and windows and other places where ants enter premises. Direct contact with dry dust is required to be effective."
