Does Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide kill watermil?

I have watermeal that will eventually cover the entire surface of my .5 acre pond. Will this work and if so how much do I need?

Answer:

Yes, Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide is labeled for watermil, as well as other weeds. It is recommended that you treat your pond in sections as to not deplete the oxygen in the water. The amount of product will depend on the depth of your pond. If your pond is 1 foot deep, you will use 0.25 gallons. If your pond is 2 feet deep, you will use 0.5 gallons. If the pond is 3 feet deep, you will use 0.75 gallons. For a 4 foot deep pond, you will use 1 gallon of products. This is per acre. Since you are treating 1/2 an acre, you will use 1/2 the amount of product per the depth of the pond.
